There are just so many dramas out there that I want to talk about. So many great moments and characters that I learned to love. How can one just whittle the list down to a small handful of options. It's impossible. So instead of doing the usual top 5 I decided to go all rebel and have 7 categories with my favorites listed within. What? Dramas are like my children, you can't just pick one over the other.

Kmuse Top 5 Kdrama Countdown - Most Memorable Fashion
Whether it is good or bad we all focus in on the wardrobes and style (hair & makeup) while watching a drama. We discuss it with other kdrama enthusiasts ( I made the mistake of trying to explain the many male hairstyles and their significance to a non kdrama friend. I received some very very weird looks, so now I usually just discuss with others who understand my obsession) and squee at mid-drama hairstyle changes. So come join me as I countdown the good and the bad of drama fashion. Also, as usual, feel free to let us know your favorites that I might have missed in the comments or topics for future top 5's. We at TCA love hearing from the readers.
This concludes my Fashion countdown. Unfortunately there are so many looks that could be discussed but only a limited amount of time to blog. I am also hoping to be doing another recap soon if any of the new dramas coming out tickle my fancy. So be sure to check back soon.
#5 The Night Watchman's Journal
Oh Night Watchman's Journal, you are as crazy with your fashion as you are with your plot line. All in all we love you, but sometimes you just don't make sense. This is the case with several characters (we will never forget the dream induced outfit that SiDam wore during the sacrificial ceremony in episode 1) but the one that drives me crazy is the Pocahontas themed mini skirt of our leading lady Do Ha. Why? Why are you going around with your midriff peaking out and your skirt high up your leg? Even for a fusion Saguek it just does not make sense. You might give the excuse, "Kmuse, it is the outfit of her tribe." to which I reply.............are you kidding me? No one else (including her sister) was sporting that much leg so how could this be a traditional dress. And why does it look like an outfit you would see a hostess at an Indian Casino Bar wearing? And even though I was not a fan of the Pocahontas dress, I did not wish the ugly outfit she replaced it with. Her pants and shirt combo are ill fitting and make her look kind of frumpy. Not a look you really want your leading lady to have. I guess we will have to leave it to Jung Il Woo to be the fashionista of the drama.
#4 Winter the Wind Blows
When I could take my attention away from Jo In Sung's beautiful face, my eye was caught by his extremely stylish wardrobe. Full of textured sweaters, colorful coats, and my all time favorite use of suspenders, he brought an old world charm into a modern drama.
#3 Secret Garden
Anyone who has watched this drama, and even many of those that have not, probably know why Joo Won's wardrobe made it on to my memorable fashion list. Unfortunately, it was not for good fashion, but for a series of truly horribly beaded tracksuits. These clothes will be imprinted in your mind after watching the drama, and you will now understand the many inside jokes in other dramas (Flower Boy Ramyun Shop, Greatest Love). One of my favorite moments from the whole show was when the lead, Joo Won, found that his tracksuit was being used by the promoters of a hostess bar. Truly a fun and ridiculous fashion.
#2 City Hunter
For a show about revenge, murder, and intrigue, there sure was a whole lot of fashion going on with the male lead. Most of my time was spent ogling Lee Min Ho in his tight pink pants and those deep, deep, deep, V t-shirts. What cracked me up the most was the fact that he wore this sexy chest showing clothing to work (the Blue House, no less) and even acted like all that naked chest was completely normal. Why can't my workplace be like that......on second thought, I would hate to see most of the men I know showing more cleavage then me.
#1 Lee Joon Gi
I have yet to see Lee Joon Gi look unfashionable in anything he has done. Whether it is Sageuk (historical) or a modern drama, he makes his clothes his own and owns his style. That is why Lee Joon Gi has earned his place on the most memorable fashion list. If I had to pick my favorite it would have to be the many styles from his most recent drama "The Joseon Gunman". While the drama itself lost some of its luster, Lee Joon Gi shined from start to finish in his suits and vigilante garb.
Honorable Mentions
The following were also fashion that came to mind but just did not hit my top 5. But since they are so distinctive I thought they deserved a quick mention.
Yoo Seung Ho's Mane of Glory
I consider Yoo Seung Ho to be one of the best actors (only 6 more months til he is out of military!) and always a memorable leader of fashion. But one of his best features, is the fact that he can really rock the sageuk "mane of glory". As the hot genius assassin in Warrior Baek Dong Soo or as the Jade Emperor (totally stole the show with his scenes) in Arang and the Magistrate, his hair was truly something to behold. Let's hope that Yoo Seung Ho and his hair have a long career ahead of him upon his release.
Hotel King
Lee Da Hae was the queen of bringing high fashion to the small screen as her character Ah Mo-Ne worked her way through same crazy wardrobe changes. I remember rolling my eyes at the start of the drama, but by the finale I was sad to see Mo Ne and her memorable style go.

Answering the Question: What Should I Watch Next?
Now that I am having to keep up with recapping two dramas, my Weekly Top 5 Countdown, and my Fashion Fails, it has been a while since I have been able to get back to what I truly love, giving less known drama suggestions to other kenthusiasts. There is nothing more satisfying than suggesting a hidden or less known drama to someone who is searching for something new to watch. So I decided to take a few moments and jot down some of my favorite current airing dramas and then past dramas that I think have a similar feel or concept.
If You Like Gap Dong:
You might want to give an awesome (and less well known drama) White Christmas a try.
Starring: Kim Woo Bin, Sung Joon, Lee Soo Hyuk, Baek Sung Hyun
White Christmas is what I think Gap Dong was going for in concept before all the crazy writing twists and bad female characters interfered. What happens when a normal person is put into the situation where they can do unspeakable things. Or as White Christmas's psycho puts it, "are killers born, or are they created?"
SYNOPSIS:
This is my go to drama when I want something well written and super suspenseful. This drama takes us to Susin High School, nicknamed "Prison High," it is an elite school attended by the top 1% of students in the country. Stuck in the middle of the mountains with no outside influences the only thing that the students do is study and wait for Christmas break to leave for a week to visit their families. This Christmas 7 students and a teacher remain and are confronted with a killer among them who is interested in finding out if monsters are created, or if they are born. With one of the best up and coming cast of young actors, it is an amazing drama that feels reminiscent of a good Agatha Christie murder mystery.
White Christmas Trailer
If You Like Hotel King:
You might enjoy "Scandal: A Shocking and Wrongful Incident"
Starring: Kim Jae Won, Ki Tae Young, Jo Jae Hyeon, Park Jung Chul
This has a similar storyline involving revenge against fathers and birth secrets. Superbly acted by all the men in the drama (females were just kind of there as plot movers) it is one that truly pushed my emotional buttons.
Synopsis:
Devastated and feeling wronged for the death of his son, Ha Myeong Geun kidnaps Eun Joong and when he comes to his senses and tries to return him, he finds another child substituted in as the kidnapped heir. Eun Joong is raised by his "adopted father" with a steadfast idea of right and wrong (ironic isn't it), and grew up to be a policeman. Shocked to find out the truth that the father he loved so much was actually his kidnapper he decides on what his idea of family is and comes to terms with the horrible actions of both his kidnapper father and real father.
Scandal Trailer
If you like Witch's Romance:
You Might Enjoy I Need Romance 3
Starring: Sung Joon, Kim So Yeon
I know that INR3 is not really an old drama, but when I was thinking of which drama felt the most similar, this is the one that comes to mind. If you want some suggestions for other older woman/younger man themed romances feel free to check out this old blog post of mine with other noona drama suggestions
http://thecrazyahjummas.blogspot.com/2014/03/flashback-friday-noona-edition.html
Synopsis:
Shin Joo Yeon is a 33-year-old fashion marketing director at a home shopping channel company. She's developed a tough prickly outer shell in order to succeed in the workplace, and has almost given up on the idea of true love after countless failures in the relationship department. Joo Wan is a 26-year-old songwriter and carefree spirit who returns to Korea after seventeen years living abroad. Up until the age of 9, he was practically raised by his mom's friend and her daughter, Shin Joo Yeon. She only remembers him as a kid she was forced to play with him when her mom was busy, while all his early memories from bath time, to play time, to learning how to tie his shoe, include her. Upon meeting again, he aims to heal Joo Yeon's jaded sense of romance (synopsis from MDL).

Top 5 Kdrama Countdown - May Week 3
We have a ton of fun and cute moments comprising my Top 5 this week. From strawberry bodywash, bittersweet romance, enough sexy abs to satisfy any kdrama fan, and some cute new OTP's (One True Pairings), we have a bit of something for everyone. So sit back and join me as I tell you what my favorite moments of the 3rd week in May.
It seems like it has been forever since I have done my Top 5 Countdown. I have missed it since sharing good dramas and connecting people with their next drama is one of my favorite things to do. I just added a bunch of new dramas to my weekly lineup so have all kinds of new material. I know, I know, I think I probably have a drama problem, it is getting to crazy weekly airing levels. But at least I know I am not missing anything good, since it is just tragic to find out that there is an awesome drama airing that you are not yet watching. If you think I am missing anything feel free to let me know in the comments or on our FB page. Or if you need some suggestions on what to watch next, I have seen an insane amount of dramas and could probably help you out with some suggestions.
In episode 5 we see our rookies being cute and bonding over drinks at the boys dorm. Everyone passes out and sleeps in except Eun Dae Koo (Lee Seung Gi - King 2 Hearts, Gu Family Book) who decides to shower early. His female partner Eo Soo-Sun (Go Ara - Reply 1994), also arises (obviously hungover) and stumbles towards the bathroom. She walks straight into a shirtless Dae Koo and stands there with her lips firmly pressed against his chest. Usually you would think that the girl would be flustered or startled with that much sexy naked chest action going on, but not Soo Sun, she just licks her lips and asks if that is strawberry body wash that he used. HEHEHEHE His affronted virgin expression just cracks me up, I could not stop laughing even as he chucks her out of the house.

First is Jung Da Jung & Seo Jae Woo from the new family drama Glorious Day. This drama is filled with so many fun family hijinks that I literally laugh out loud through most of the episodes (first two episodes were a little slow but it really picks up from 3 on). Jung Da Jung (Park Se Young - Faith, School 2013) is the middle child of a single mother raising three daughters. She is in the process of falling for the oldest son of a rice cake bakery, Seo Jae Woo (Lee Sang Woo - A Word From a Kind Heart). Due to a series of fateful circumstances their families become neighbors and share a common courtyard. I love how happy both characters are with life and they just click. Nothing can beat good chemistry and I can't wait to watch the next episode and see their relationship develop.
Wet T-Shirt Clip
"Love Myself Or You" is the newest Tdrama to start this week (Is it just me or are we suddenly getting a lot more Tdramas than we used to?) It stars Puff Kuo (Just You) as our prickly leading lady, a chef who has worked her way up the ladder in a French restaurant. She meets the newly hired intern (undercover son of the restaurant and gourmet chef in his own right) played by Max Liu who also ends up being her new next door neighbor and it is instant sparks. There is only one episode so far, but already I am in love with the leading man's sweet smile and his sincere manners (kind of reminds me of Dong Ha from Witch's Romance). Bring on the food and neighbor hijinks, I am signing on for this ride and hoping for the best.
Emerging Couple Clip
This concludes my countdown! I hope you enjoyed all the moments as much as I did. If you have any questions on where you can find subs for any of the shows feel free to ask in the comments or on our FB page. We are always happy to help fellow Kfans.
Sincerely,
Kmuse

Kpop Song of the Week
Megan Lee 8 Dayz (Featuring Yong Jun Hyung)
Yup still loving this song. The bubbly perky sound has totally cheered me up and gotten me ready to face the summer. OK, so that consists of opening some windows and allowing some sunshine into the house (for a person living in the NW the gray clouds to sun transition can be painful). I don't even mind the so so dancing and the random creepy horse and sheep masks (Korean MV's, sometimes you are so weird). Hope this cheers you up as much as it did me.
MEGAN LEE "8 DAYZ"
#5 Strawberry Body Wash - You're All Surrounded
I am in a love hate relationship with this drama. I love the characters, I love the humor, I love the larger mystery arc, however I hate hate hate the whole cop politics that come with any crime themed show. So it is scenes like this one, that keep me watching despite the constant grinding of teeth due to politics. In episode 5 we see our rookies being cute and bonding over drinks at the boys dorm. Everyone passes out and sleeps in except Eun Dae Koo (Lee Seung Gi - King 2 Hearts, Gu Family Book) who decides to shower early. #4 Computer Glitch's and Skinship - A Witch's Romance
When Ji Yeon loses a report she is working on, and
subtly is mumbling to herself about how much trouble losing this article
will be, Dong Ha comes to the rescue. He reaches over her shoulder,
putting his hand over hers, and guides her through the retrieval of her
paper. My vote goes to this scene for sexiest non-traditional skinship
moment of the year (at least so far). Never has moving a mouse around
been sexier. And the little thumb rub against her hand as he "helps"
her is shiver worthy.Romantic Mouse Action Clip
#3 Let the Ships Sail -Glorious Day & Love Myself or You
I love starting a new drama and instantly loving the OTP's (One True Pairings). It just makes me so happy and I get so excited to share my new finds with other kdrama addicts. So you all get the luck of listening to me wax poetic about my two new favorite couples. Bring on the food and neighbor hijinks, I am signing on for this ride and hoping for the best.
#2 Thank the Drama Gods for Wardrobe Changes - Fall In Love With Me
The best thing about this double identity plot line in Tdrama "Fall In Love With Me", is that it gives leading man Aaron Yan a lot of excuses to take his clothes off. And none of the scenes are funnier than this week in episode 7 when he is in mid transformation and is interrupted by a sweet ahjumma who hands him his shirt he had dropped. I don't know about you, but this ahjumma wishes there were random khotties pulling Clark Kents in front of my eyes. Although I probably would be the one with her camera out snapping some photos rather than being sweet and giving him back his clothes.
#1 One Day of Love - Hotel King
When you are overcoming murderous plots, evil masterminds, fake sibling connections, and a hotel full of cranky guests, romance is not always first on one's to do list. So it is a miracle when leading man Cha Jae Wan ( Lee Dong Wook - My Girl, Scent of A Woman) is able to finally fall in love with Ah Mo-Ne (Lee Da Hae - Iris 2, My Girl). Seriously, nothing puts a damper on a romance more than thinking you are siblings. But this is a melodrama and it is not even half way, so we all know their happiness is not going to last. It seems that Jae Wan also sees the writing on the wall since he gives himself one day to take Mo Ne away from the hotel and responsibility, just to be a couple.
It is a nice break for us viewers as well. As much as I love watch Lee Dong Wook go into full emote mode, seeing him happy for a few minutes is nice as well. Their sweet romance and the emotions it brings makes this my #1 pick for the week. Also for those of you who dropped the show early on, (Don't blame you, I was tempted to bail myself) give it another try. Once you hit the romance it is well worth wading through the boring beginning episodes.Emerging Couple Clip

Top 5 Kdrama Countdown - May Week 1
I have been in kdrama heaven since every one of the new dramas this week has been so so good. Now if I can only find the time to watch them all. It was difficult to pick my favorite so I had to combine a bunch to get all the best moments mentioned. So come join me as we discuss what was epic about his week in kdramas!
Our other new drama, You're All Surrounded, was not going to be beat in the sacrificing parent race. Our main hero's mother was a women of morals and had agreed to testify against a murderer. Unfortunately that murderer was not going down quietly and sent a goon to beat the mother to death to keep her quiet. Her son comes home, finding his mother close to death, but still alive. The murderer comes back into the house and he hides under the bed directly in eye site of his mother. When the bad guy goes to look under the bed the mom distracts him by letting him know she is still alive, protecting her son but solidifying her own death. The scene with the two crying as the boy watches his mother die was truly heart wrenching.
It just goes to show you that the good die young and what we are left with are the typical evil kdrama parents.

#5 Parents Dying for Their Children.
There were a lot of good death scenes this week.....by parents! It was the week for parents sacrificing for their children and we viewers were lucky to see not one but two great death scenes. In Dr Stranger, our leads father was more or less kidnapped (along with his son) and forced to live in North Korea as a surgeon. His son was also forced to follow in his footsteps becomes a genius heart surgeon. Seeing a way to allow his son to escape the strict regime, Kim Sang Joong (Kim Sang Joong - City Hunter) allows himself to be gunned down so there would be no ties connecting his son to North Korea. It was a truly beautiful moment of love from a father to his son.Our other new drama, You're All Surrounded, was not going to be beat in the sacrificing parent race. Our main hero's mother was a women of morals and had agreed to testify against a murderer. Unfortunately that murderer was not going down quietly and sent a goon to beat the mother to death to keep her quiet. Her son comes home, finding his mother close to death, but still alive. The scene with the two crying as the boy watches his mother die was truly heart wrenching.
It just goes to show you that the good die young and what we are left with are the typical evil kdrama parents.
Dr Stranger Clip
#4 Don't Play With My Toys
Hotel King had a lighthearted moment where our leading man, Cha Jae-Wan, had to babysit the son of one of the guests in his personal home. It would be a huge trial for the man anyway since Jae Wan is a character who is really really wound tight. But add in the fact that he likes to collect and make limited edition toys and you have a recipe for disaster. The young boy wants to play with everything, and our hero about dies. He solves the problem by placing all the toys on his very top shelf (just under the ceiling) and saying that he always puts them up there at bedtime hahaha. It was a cute moment in a mostly serious drama. Child Chaos Clip
#3 MONDAYS!
Let's just all admit that Monday is the best day to be a kdrama fan right now. You have the big ratings competition between Triangle, Dr Stranger, and Big Man. Also add in new episodes of Wild Chives and Soy Bean Soup, Running Man, and everyone's favorite romantic comedy Witch's Romance. Yup! Mondays are my new best day of the week, which is why they are my #3 favorite moment. Thank you Kdramas for making this day suck less.
#2 Best Confession Ever!
Our leading lady Ji Yeon's plan to bring a man to her clubs anniversary party goes
horribly wrong, resulting in her chasing him with a rake and blackening
his eye. But never fear our white knight is to the rescue (literally,
he is all in white) and arrives just in time to save our leading ladies
fragile ego. But rather than pretend to be her boyfriend, he just comes
out and really confesses. Just repeating what he said does not do the
scene justice, so all of you out there not watching this drama.... run
and at least watch this scene. It was epic. I literally held my breath
in anticipation.Confession Clip:
#1 Abs! So many delicious shirtless scenes in our dramas this week
We were overrun with hot shirtless scenes this week as our khottie's showered, brooded, and just changed their clothes A LOT! I am pretty sure that JaeJoong's character in triangle secretly wants to be a nudist since he was shirtless an insane amount of times during the first two episodes of his new drama. Also joining in the shirtless fun was the dramas Dr Stranger, Hotel King, and You're All Surrounded. It was a great week to be a female drama watcher! Thanks for joining me for another countdown. I can now go get busy watching everything for next week. There is a new episode of Hotel King that is calling my name. Top 5 Kdrama Countdown - April Week 2
Scary birds, serial killers, hormonal angst, and the cast of running man discovering new uses for a water bottle, are all in this weeks top 5 kdrama countdown. Come and join us as we discuss this weeks best moments as well as some newly airing dramas.
Soccer Romance Clip
I personally am just barely figuring out who MBLAQ is so this is my first experience really noticing the idol turned actor Lee Joon. Friends who are a lot more obsessive in their fandom then I, began posting stills and teasers for this drama featuring him and I was instantly hooked. This guys creepy smile is spectacular and now I can't help just thinking he is a psychopath anytime I see his photo. But it was his ability to instantly go from normal guy to crazy killer by a twist of facial muscles that really brought this character to life.
An inmate in the psych ward (we currently don't know for what) he makes even other inmates nervous and he always seems to be wherever there is Gap Dong drama going down. His pointed interest in our leading man is sinister from the get go and when he interacts with the doctor I get shivers. I predict that he is going to be visiting my countdown again soon.
Kim Soo Hyun's daughter is murdered by a serial killer. For some unknown reason she is given a second chance and must relive the past 14 days in an attempt to find the killer and save her daughter.
This drama is truly brilliant. The writing is so extremely tight and intricate that you can rewatch from episode 1 and see layers upon layers of clues that are just playing out in the last few episodes. We are finally back to the beginning where Saet Byeol is kidnapped, but thanks to the efforts of Soo Hyun events progress slightly differently leaving clues that will eventually lead to the truth and hopefully save our mini heroine. It is fascinating to watch the same thing happen, yet see the differences. Can't wait to find out what the drama brings us this week.

#5 So Many Unexplained Birds
Hotel King debuted this week and surprisingly made our #5 spot on the countdown. I say surprisingly due to the fact that I did not particularly love this drama (at least so far). But the closing scene in ep. 2 really left a lasting impression so onto the list it goes. Ah Mo-Ne (Lee Da Hae - Iris 2, My Girl), the pampered heiress is in mid fight with her nemesis sexy Cha Jae Wan (Lee Dong Wook- My Girl, Scent of a Woman), when she stomps off across the courtyard. We hear a ear piercing scream when she sees a couple pigeons on the ground.
Expectation From Scream Level
Reality
Now this might seem like a random scene to enjoy, but it leads us to the closing scene where some unknown intruder leaves a little warning (a pigeon corpse) on her bed. This sends her into a catatonic state and also allows our cold lead to see her vulnerable and needy. It was a great scene because not only does it bring our OTP closer together but also brings up the question "Why is she so freaked out over birds?" Did one poop on her designer shoes? Peck at her crazy hats? Cant wait to find out the answer and that alone will keep me watching this drama despite the lead girl's horrible acting.
#4 Teenage Hormones and Angst
Wild Chives and Soy Bean Soup has remained in my top favorite dramas several weeks running (seriously, I can't get enough of this drama). The sparks and plot heated up this week as our two young leads find themselves alone in the house watching soccer, and drinking a huge amount of champagne. It is no surprise when the extreme touching and hugging due to the soccer game turns into something more and our two cute teens take their skinship to the next level. However due to misunderstandings, insecurities, and just plain teenage angst, their morning after is not the thing of dreams. I love how this drama truly sucks you into their emotional state. It makes me truly thankful that I will never have to experience my teenage years again.Soccer Romance Clip
#3 A Terrifying Smile

#2 The Death of Saet Byeol: Take 2
We have made it all the way from the first death of our little girl Saet Byeol to the unfolding of the same events a second time. For those of you who don't know the premise of Gods Gift - 14 Days I will provide a brief synopsis. Kim Soo Hyun's daughter is murdered by a serial killer. For some unknown reason she is given a second chance and must relive the past 14 days in an attempt to find the killer and save her daughter.

#1 How to Properly Use a Water Bottle
I about died from laughing so hard during this last episode of the popular variety program Running Man and it is all thanks to one hilarious guest. Ryu Seung Soo (Wonderful Days) was teamed up with Jae Suk to complete various games/contests and advance in the competition. It just so happens that one of those games involved a construction cone going up one's booty. Between the two men they had to sit on this construction cone for a total of 3 minutes. Sounds easy in theory, however the reality of a pointy object inserted near one's bum is nothing to scoff at. After failing once they again have to attempt the quest and Ryu Seung Soo gets on the cone and totally goes into a zen induced zone. He achieves the needed time but trips as he is getting off the painful object. Unfortunately for him, it is discovered that he had cheated by putting a water bottle down his pants to protect his most sensitive area. This is truly not only winning this weeks coveted #1 spot, but also going on my list of favorite Running Man moments of all time. Let's just say that if Ryu Seung Soo ever decides to do variety, I will be an avid viewer of anything he is on.Running Man Clip (scene starts at 5:45)
