Hyde, Jekyll, and I Episode 20 - Hyde Jekyll and I Am So Done

Hello all!  If you are reading this it means you have completed the journey of watching this epic fail of a drama.  Or at least have succeeded in reading the recaps.  First off, thanks for keeping with us as we recapped. I hope that we made this drama a bit more entertaining for you.  I am just so excited that we done!  Dongsaeng and I enjoy doing the final recap of our dramas together so you are lucky and get two recappers for the price of one.  So without further ado, let's put this sucker to bed, once and for all.

Hyde, Jekyll, and I Episode 19 - Robin and Ha Na Sitting in a Tree....

We are almost at the end!  The finish line is in sight!  But if you thought the writers were going to rest on their horrible writing laurels, then you thought wrong.  Nope, they are determined to drive the Robin and Ha Na ship home, probably crashing into the dock and exploding into a giant bonfire of bad OTP romance.

Hyde, Jekyll and I episode 18: I Heard This One Was Good

It's true. I did hear that this episode was good before I had had the opportunity to watch it. That of course was something I had to see for myself. And? Well, we'll have to just wait and see what my opinion was until after the recap ;)

So, episode 18 was kind of Robin's Coming Out Party. Cat is (sorta) out of the bag. It is known to the general public now that Seo Jin and Robin are one in the same, only as chaebol company man/moonlighting webtoon author, not as a split personality. This pretty much makes Ha Na a genius for coming up with a solution in which both personalities can be free-ish to be themselves and where Robin no longer must hide in the shadows. *slow clap* for her and her genius band-aid on the whole situation.

Hyde, Jekyll, and I Episode 17 - Things I Would Rather Watch Hyun Bin Do........

What to do? What to do?  Here I am starting episode 17, and I am literally dreading it with every ounce of my being.  It is as if I am being dragged to the movie theater on a date with a hottie and being forced to watch a slasher show.  I detest slasher shows and they usually result in me moving furniture against my bedroom door and sleeping with a pair of scissors.  But then you have the whole hottie aspect which almost makes it worth it......almost.  Hyun Bin why did you have to choose this drama?  ACK the horror of this situation.

Hyde, Jekyll and I ep 16: Of Boards and Turtlenecks

So, I don't know if you know this or not, but this recap is really, really extra super duper late. The next episode is already out. I just couldn't figure out what to say about this one. Why? Because NOTHING happened. No, really, nothing happened. So, since we don't have a lot to cover plot-wise, I thought I'd start with the most memorable moment of the entire episode and then just go from there.

Did you see the final outfit that they stuck poor Binnie in???

DID YOU SEE IT???

I. CAN'T. EVEN....

Here, let me just show you....

Hyde, Jekyll, and I Episode 15 - Hyun Bin Conspiracy Theories

Last weeks episodes were an epic fail and have forced me to come to the conclusion that I just can not continue to give normal recaps for this kdrama.  This show is driving me to the brink of ahjumma insanity and as a result I have decided that for the final three weeks (SOB, SOB, SOB,..........there is still three weeks of this disaster) I am just going to let it all go and have fun.  If the writers refuse to make sense, then I refuse to try make these recaps perky and positive.  Therefore from now on I will have various themes to help me pass the recapping time.  You will still get a few brief descriptions of what is going on, this is a recap after all, but mixed in will be a heavy dose of snark and humor.  So with this in mind, I am declaring this a post to discuss conspiracy theories on the topic of "Who has it out for Hyun Bin?"  There has to be a reason since we all know Hyun Bin is usually awesome.

Hyde, Jekyll and I, episode 14: Trying to Play Nice

Have you ever been in any kind of relationship, be it romantic, friendly, or familial, where you maybe didn't quite "gel" with the person, yet you still tried to force it because it was something you thought you wanted? Maybe you scored a date with the "it" guy in school that you crushed on for forever, only to find him incredibly dull and boring? Or maybe a really nice person goes above and beyond to be your friend, but you have to force a smile whenever they are around and consciously make an effort to not keep checking your watch?

Yeah.

That is where I am with this drama. FOUR YEARS! Four years I waited for this man to return to dramaland.

Hyde, Jekyll and I Episode 13 - The Snark Is Strong in This Blogger

I am not sure if it is because I am sick or if it is because this show is just pushing my last nerve after the unpleasant ep 12 (Hint: I did NOT enjoy it).  Whatever the reason, I just feel the urge to complain about a few things that have gotten on my nerves when it comes to this show and specifically things in this episode.  Just a friendly warning, Kmuse is cranky so proceed with caution and know that next week I will probably be back to my more unbiased self.  So anticipate a lot of snark and a bunch of photos this recap.

Hyde, Jekyll and I ep 12: Seo Jin's Plus One, er, Two

Mr Dangorgeous

Well, well, well...so things kind of got a little crazy this week. Lots to talk about this time around. So many different things to talk about - where should we even start? Should we start with the baby-faced villain that is crazypants and on a hypnotic rampage causing mayhem and trouble wherever he turns? Or the power-seeking cousin who finds out Seo Jin's deepest, darkest secret and gets the company turned over to him without him having to even fire a shot? How about that girl,

Hyde, Jekyll and I Episode 11 - Robin is A Real Boy

Things heat up this episode as Robin and Seo Jin face off for Ha Na's affections.  Who will win the hand of our fair maiden?  And does it really matter when the two men are really one and the same?  These questions cause one personality to start acting frantic while the other focuses on the past and overcoming the traumas that caused the split to begin with.  Either way we are in for an emotional roller coaster and a very confused leading lady.

Hyde, Jekyll and I ep 10: Do NOT Go In There!

This week is evidence that perseverance can pay off. I don't know about you, but I was happy with where our story went this week. I finally feel as if we have a story. I love when my patience is rewarded. And what was it rewarded with? A complex and good-looking villain for one.
Bad is looking good on him actually

Hyde, Jekyll and I Episode 9 - The Old Switcheroo

The pace finally starts to pick up as we discover a new big bad to contend with, not to mention all that messy Ha Na dating a personality business.  As Robin and Ha Na become closer, the emotional stakes become higher on the eventual fallout.  It is one thing to be a friend and keep the whole multiple personality secret, but as a boyfriend it ups the coverup to a whole new level of evasion.

Hyde, Jekyll and I ep 8: Finally!

For anyone who a) is waiting on the fence unsure as to watch this drama or b)anyone who maybe gave it up officially or unofficially, this may be when you want to jump on board. Maybe it is just me, but I watched this episode and thought "YES! Finally! We have a story!". Then there was the part of me that said, "NOOOOOOOO!!!!" Any idea when that one came up?

Hyde, Jekyll, and I Episode 7 - Kisses and Kidnappings

This was a hard episode to get a feel for.  I had actually changed the title three times since I keep changing my mind on what direction I want to tackle the various scenes.  Do I focus on the Seo Jin's plot line, where we get a cute chaebol discovering love?  Do I focus on Robin and his regret over love and Ha Na.  Or do we talk about the underlying events that caused Seo Jin's initial trauma which forced him into a situation where Robin was created?  So in true multiple personality fashion, I am going to segment this sucker up and cover all three.

Hyde, Jekyll and I episode 6: Hey Jealousy

You know what is a lot of fun? Sitting down to write a blog post only to find that the computer that was working just fine a few minutes ago when your kid was using it for Minecraft now doesn't work at all. And I mean, not at all. One black screen and a cursor, that's all I got. So, while that is being worked on, I'm stuck using the lousy laptop. I mean, thankfully, for the sake of my post, I have the laptop available for use. It's all in our attitude, right?

Hyde, Jekyll, and I Episode 5 - Board The Seo Jin & Robin Ship

I am still on the mend from earlier this week when I had a very unpleasant bout of the flu so this post is going to be short and sweet and mostly full of my thoughts and impressions so far.  Impressions such as why I am kind of bored with our leading lady.  Does this drama remind anyone of another Hyun Bin drama?  (cough cough - Secret Garden - Cough).  And many more, so lets just take a quick dive into episode 5.

Hyde, Jekyll, and I ep 4: Sorry, Not Sorry

Okay AddicKts, so I have a confession to make. My recap of episode 2 started out a lot different. It had to be edited big time before I posted it. Why? Because I accidentally spent a good portion of it reviewing Kill Me, Heal Me instead. Man, you should have seen the awesomeness that had to be cut. If only.... ;) I learned something from the whole silly incident though - I can't watch two dramas with such similar premises when one of those two is one that I am reviewing. Which just means that I have added incentive to get these reviews written and done so that I can go watch the latest episodes of KMHM. So, I hate to rush this along, but.... I gots me some drama waiting for me on the other side of this review. How about we speed things up and jump right into it? Sound good? Sounds good.  And away we go!

Episode 4 was, thankfully, in my opinion, the best that we've had from this series so far. Nothing super cheesy or weird (the rope scene in 3 - come on. Really?! WTH was that?), just some good old fashioned storytelling. And some very nice close-up head shots of Hyun Bin. Like a lot of close-up head shots of Hyun Bin. It's pretty much a Hyun Bin close-up head shot extravaganza.

Hyde, Jekyll and I ep 2 - Two's Clues

December 6, 2012. Anyone know the significance of that date? Anyone? Bueller? If you don't know, well, I'll tell you. That was the day that Hyun Bin's military service ended. I had it marked on my calendar. I had a countdown clock

Jekyll, Hyde, & Me Episode 1 - We Have A Biter

YAY! So excited for our new recapping project!  I know we have only been gone for a week after completing "Pinocchio", but for some reason it has felt like much longer.

What's Next for The Crazy Ahjummas?

With the upcoming finale of Pinocchio (I know, I know, I am also sobbing as well) it will be time for Dongsaeng and myself to choose our next recapping project.  Due to the timing of the ending of our current project it was pretty much a forgone conclusion that we would pick this drama, but luckily it was the drama that interested us both to begin with.  So without further ado, I announce that we will be taking on the upcoming multiple personality drama "Jekyll, Hyde, and Me" to discuss, dissect, and probably disagree over.  Personally I think that having two bloggers recap the show will be great since then we can get two different views which matches the multiple personality theme.
