I actually sat down with my daughters this week and had the "what is
attractive, and hot in a kdrama is not what you want in real life, so
don't date a stalker" talk. So this is the perfect topic for this weeks countdown. Who doesn't love a good Korean style stalking? It is almost a staple in the Kdrama wheelhouse that when you have a pining hottie, you of course have to go into stalk mode, because communication and healthy interaction is just too mainstream to be effective. So with that in mind, let's countdown the top kdrama stalkers that, while we may have a few reservations now and then we love them anyway.
#5 Kang Seo Wool
- What Happens to My Family
Coming in at #5 is the plucky country bumpkin, Kang Seo Wool, who travels to Seoul 12 years after meeting her soul mate in order to hunt him down for a wedding. Seo Wool is the baby stalker of my countdown (since she is very openly pursuing her future husband) but the fact that she sneakily found out his address, followed him to his house, introducing herself as the "fiancee", and later lived in his rooftop apartment unknown to the other members of the household, earns her stalker level.
#4 Kim Ha Ni - Surplus Princess
Surplus Princess is the latest drama in a long line of amazing TvN romantic comedies where we have our heroine (mermaid turned human Kim Ha-Ni) actively stalking one of the leading men (Song Jae Rim). Ha Ni falls in love with human chef, Kwon Shi Kyung, from his social media accounts and certain that it is "true love" chooses to take her stalking to the next level and magically acquire legs to further her pursuit. Things so far have not panned out, but her continued surprise kiss attacks and constant presence wherever he is, are bound to produce a positive outcome. RIGHT???? Please say it works out for our poor horny heroine or I will be so sad.
#3 Harry - I Miss You
I am so torn about this character since he was, by far, my favorite part of this drama. Poor thing, so hot, yet so messed up because of his father's abuse. Was Harry a mentally damaged, control freak, almost psychopathic, stalker extraordinaire? Yes, but he just needed the love of a good woman and all would have been OK (I refuse to accept he was totally nonredeemable). Which is why he was so intent on watching and training Soo Yeon to be dependent on his love. What else is a poor stalker supposed to do? This is the 2nd week in a row that Yoo Seung Ho had been featured on my countdown, so obviously my brain is starting to get excited for his release from the military. Let's hope that we can see him stalking our TV screens in the new year.
#2 John Lee/Lee Yoon Sung - City Hunter
Lee Min Ho was actually one of my first experiences with the romantic kdrama style of stalking. His intense portrayal of revenge/justice vigilante Yoon Sung caught my eye and heart. It was not until I really started dissecting the drama logically that I realized that some of the "romantic" things he did could be considered a little in the stalkerish zone. Although who doesn't want a guy to buy their building, lurk outside the house at all hours, stare at you from a car as you ride the bus, etc. etc. At least as long as they are hot and have a crazier stalker father that makes them look sane in comparison.
#1 Jo Min Hyuk
- Secret
Oh Jo Min Hyuk (Ji Sung - Protect the Boss), you looked at the stalker line that was drawn in sand, erased it, and put it 5 inches away from your victim love.....and THEN you crossed it. It is that extreme stalker crazy that makes you #1 on my all time favorite stalker list. Beginning as an obsessive need for revenge Min Hyuk relentlessly stalks Kang Yoo Jung (Hwang Jung-Eum- Endless Love) and then somehow (I am declaring it a weird reverse case of Stockholm syndrome) falls in love with the woman he thinks murdered his girlfriend and unborn baby. Sometimes crazy, sometimes romantic, yet always a stalker, Min Hyuk cuts a khottie swath through the social norms and makes us cheer for this unlikely couple

I decided to switch things up this week. So instead of telling you my favorite kdrama moments, I am instead going to discuss what is currently annoying me. Because sometimes a blogger just needs to vent. So please join me in discussing what moments just irked me to the point of ranting. I have been in kdrama heaven since every one of the new dramas this week has been so so good. Now if I can only find the time to watch them all. It was difficult to pick my favorite so I had to combine a bunch to get all the best moments mentioned. So come join me as we discuss what was epic about his week in kdramas!
#5 Parents Dying for Their Children.
There were a lot of good death scenes this week.....by parents! It was the week for parents sacrificing for their children and we viewers were lucky to see not one but two great death scenes. In Dr Stranger, our leads father was more or less kidnapped (along with his son) and forced to live in North Korea as a surgeon. His son was also forced to follow in his footsteps becomes a genius heart surgeon. Seeing a way to allow his son to escape the strict regime, Kim Sang Joong (Kim Sang Joong - City Hunter) allows himself to be gunned down so there would be no ties connecting his son to North Korea. It was a truly beautiful moment of love from a father to his son.
Our other new drama, You're All Surrounded, was not going to be beat in the sacrificing parent race. Our main hero's mother was a women of morals and had agreed to testify against a murderer. Unfortunately that murderer was not going down quietly and sent a goon to beat the mother to death to keep her quiet. Her son comes home, finding his mother close to death, but still alive. The murderer comes back into the house and he hides under the bed directly in eye site of his mother. When the bad guy goes to look under the bed the mom distracts him by letting him know she is still alive, protecting her son but solidifying her own death. The scene with the two crying as the boy watches his mother die was truly heart wrenching. It just goes to show you that the good die young and what we are left with are the typical evil kdrama parents.

#4 Don't Play With My Toys
Hotel King had a lighthearted moment where our leading man, Cha Jae-Wan, had to babysit the son of one of the guests in his personal home. It would be a huge trial for the man anyway since Jae Wan is a character who is really really wound tight. But add in the fact that he likes to collect and make limited edition toys and you have a recipe for disaster. The young boy wants to play with everything, and our hero about dies. He solves the problem by placing all the toys on his very top shelf (just under the ceiling) and saying that he always puts them up there at bedtime hahaha. It was a cute moment in a mostly serious drama.

#3 MONDAYS!
Let's just all admit that Monday is the best day to be a kdrama fan right now. You have the big ratings competition between Triangle, Dr Stranger, and Big Man. Also add in new episodes of Wild Chives and Soy Bean Soup, Running Man, and everyone's favorite romantic comedy Witch's Romance. Yup! Mondays are my new best day of the week, which is why they are my #3 favorite moment. Thank you Kdramas for making this day suck less.
#2 Best Confession Ever!
Our leading lady Ji Yeon's plan to bring a man to her clubs anniversary party goes
horribly wrong, resulting in her chasing him with a rake and blackening
his eye. But never fear our white knight is to the rescue (literally,
he is all in white) and arrives just in time to save our leading ladies
fragile ego. But rather than pretend to be her boyfriend, he just comes
out and really confesses. Just repeating what he said does not do the
scene justice, so all of you out there not watching this drama.... run
and at least watch this scene. It was epic. I literally held my breath
in anticipation.

#1 Abs! So many delicious shirtless scenes in our dramas this week
We were overrun with hot shirtless scenes this week as our khottie's showered, brooded, and just changed their clothes A LOT! I am pretty sure that JaeJoong's character in triangle secretly wants to be a nudist since he was shirtless an insane amount of times during the first two episodes of his new drama. Also joining in the shirtless fun was the dramas Dr Stranger, Hotel King, and You're All Surrounded. It was a great week to be a female drama watcher!

Can a person be in drama heaven and hell at the same time? If so, then count me there. So many newly released dramas, good existing dramas, and amazing upcoming dramas (seriously there are 4 this week alone) that I can barely see straight. Add in visiting relatives and you have one busy and sleep deprived Kmuse. But persevere I must since I am sure you are just waiting to hear what the top moments of the week were.

Melody Day "Another Parting
With all of the music debut's and comebacks on pause because of the ferry disaster (yes, even weeks later they are still on pause) we have not had any new MV's being released. But never fear since there is always something we can share, even if it is not new. So enjoy this debut song from Melody Day "Another Parting". It was used in the web series also called "Another Parting" which starred my #1 bias Seo In Guk. #5 Sexy Voice Overload
If we were going to rank dramas and casts to find the best voices in the kdrama universe, then you might give new drama "A New Leaf" first place. Casting Kim Myung Min (the Sean Connery of Korea), hot ahjussi Kim Sang Joon, and Jin Lee Han (of Empress Ki Hottie fame) provides us with a sensory overload. Now if the plot can continue to stand up to the pretty sounds and visuals coming from our TV screens.
#4 Late Night Cuddles
I was so happy to finally get some good couple moments from the OTP (one true pairing) of Tdrama "Fall in Love With Me". It has not been a bad drama, but up to this point I never really felt that click of connection between our leads. That all changed this week when Lu Tian Xing & Tao Le Si get stuck in a warehouse together. He purposefully scares her with fake mouse sightings and they end up cuddling on a couch while waiting for the company to open the next morning. It was truly a cute moment that made me happy I did not drop this drama.
#3 An Emotional Ending to Empress Ki
**SPOILERS**
Usually I try not to give spoilers to the ending of shows, but since I have seen comments and discussions in abundance online I doubt you have been able to miss them. But just in case, do not read past this point. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
My two favorite characters DIE!!! SOB SOB SOB. Both Tal Tal and Ta Hwan pass away and the Yuon empire begins its collapse and eventually absorption into Goryeo. I knew it was coming, I had read up on the history, and this is a Sageuk (90% of the time at least one member of the OTP dies), but I was still hoping for some kind of happy ending. As emotional as it was, it was not a bad ending, but rather a bittersweet one. Both characters had great goodbye moments with Nyang so I felt that there was closure. Tal Tal goes off to fight and dies in battle defending his ideals to the end. At least we are saved having to see him dead on screen. But it was Ta Hwan's passing that really had my tear ducts working overtime. Poisoned past the point of return by those he trusted, Tal Hwan uses the last of his time to rid the court of all those that would try to harm Ki and his son. The last scene involved Nyang laying Ta Hwan's head on her lap as she cleans his ears (just as she had done when she first came to the palace). They declare their love one last time (I was so happy to actually hear the words coming from Nyang at last, that she had indeed loved the emperor) and he passes away holding her hand. Such a great moment and ending between two wonderful characters/actors.
#2 The Ghost of the Night that Did not Happen
Being tormented by a stalker/bird killer can be stressful for anyone. So when young assistant/neighbor/almost lover Dong Ha offers to keep her company til she feels more secure, Ji Yeon accepts. However just the previous night they had "almost" had sex so to say things were awkward would be an understatement.
Ji Yeon offers her savior a beer but quickly recants
with an awkward look (over imbibing on beer had caused the almost connection). Instead they decide to watch TV to keep their minds of the situation, but rather than something bright and entertaining, a steamy make out scene is playing.
HAHAHA. She quickly switches the channel to find an even sexier scene taking place. So what do two almost lovers do when everything seems to be a
reference to their previous evening. They listen to the radio of
course. And we viewers are highly entertained by an impromptu
competition between the two over the quiz show they are listening to. I
love that both are so competitive and that they can still enjoy the
competitive nature of each other.
#1 When Lies are Found Out
Have I mentioned yet that I was 100% wrong about boycotting Angel Eyes (mostly due to the fact that I don't really like the actress playing the lead). Never have I been so wrong about a drama because this is one AMAZING drama and a must watch for all kdrama fans. The two leads, Soo Wan & Dong Joo have such a natural chemistry that it is sometimes hard to keep in mind that you are watching a TV show. My favorite scene happened at the end of Episode 6.
Dong Joo has realized that he must leave his love behind since he does not want to interfere with her upcoming marriage. Even after she realizes who he is (they dated when she was blind in their late teens before she had a surgery to repair her sight) he brutally crushes her images of what they had had. All in the name of loving her and pushing her to go on with her life without him. Dong Joo tells her that he had rarely if ever thought of her and to go away. He then leaves for the airport devastated by his own actions. However she races after him, after finding an MP3 player that he had kept voice journal entries on, telling her about his life in the states. Armed with proof that he had been lying she frantically hunts him down. Their reunion at the airport brought an emotional avalanche of both tears and smiles to this viewer.

BlockB "Jackpot"
It took me listening to this song a couple times before I really started enjoying the hodgepodge style. I like that all the members get their time in the spotlight in the MV as well as in the vocals, and the chorus is extremely catchy. But where it really shines is in the MV where the BlockB boys kidnap a poor girl and proceed to torment/love her with their own brand of crazy. It perfectly fits their unique style and is visually entertaining and stunning at the same time.
#5 The Perfect Murder
This week in Gap Dong we see the copycat killer not only kill a second girl, but get away with it in a masterful way. It is hard to recreate the original killings when the police all are on the alert on what is going to happen. In the original murder the girl was picked up from a bus stop and found on January 7th under straw bales. She also was wearing a distinctive red article of clothing. In order to prevent a second murder the police take away all the aspects of the original crime by burning all the hay and shutting down the bus routes.
However our killer thought ahead and pre-killed his prey before the expected date. And instead of out in a field, she was covered in hay in her workshop. It is always nice when you can find a good evil character, and Lee Joon is the best I have seen in any drama. Can't wait to find out what happens next.
#4 Tal Tal and Nyang
Through forty episodes I watched Nyang be emotionally involved with both King Wang Yoo and Emperor Ta Hwan, and while I have been a staunch Ta Hwan fan from the beginning, I think I am ready to jump away from both "ships" and put my support to team Tal Tal. Yes, I know that they don't have "that" kind of relationship, but a fan can dream. I love how he has slowly grown to respect her over the show and now is one of her staunchest supporters. Both feel a strong fondness for each other and their shared ideals for the country. It is a connection that has slowly surpassed any possible love line in this drama (at least for this viewer). Empress Ki ends this week and while I am not going to miss having it be part of my lineup (after 50 episodes it is time to say goodbye) I will miss seeing Tal Tal's pretty face on my screen every week.

#3 Father and Son Reunite
The funniest reunion of the week, and our #3 spot, has to be between the father and son cop duo of Bitter Blood (Partners of Blood). Natsuki Sahara (Takeru Sato - Bloody Sunday) is a
rookie detective assigned to the violent crimes division. Unfortunately
for him he is now partnered up with his deadbeat dad, Akimura Shimao
(Atsuro Watabe) who had deserted the family thirteen years earlier. At
first glance, they are complete opposites. One is flashy and a ladies
man, while the son is sensitive and emotional. They must not only learn
how to work together as partners, but relearn how to be a family. Both characters are just all kinds of adorable and I love watching their antics. The fact that they are related just makes it all the better.

#2 God's Gift Ends With a Splash
I am going to avoid all spoilers for the ending of Gods Gift. Instead I will just say that after mulling over the situation I have come up with my own opinion on the ending that I am OK with. That being said, I still give this drama high ratings for remaining interesting and suspenseful from start to finish. Also thanks for introducing a wider audience to the amazing abilities and hotness of leading man Cho Seung-Woo. He is already back doing a musical right now, but I hope to see him in another drama ASAP.

#1 A Witch's Seduction
It does not take a genius to know why I chose this as my #1 moment of the week (It might have been my number one of the previous week but since there was the hiatus I am extending it over). In episode 2 of Witch's Romance (be sure to check out my recaps of this drama) we see our OTP get a bit tipsy and then really really really really really steamy. Seriously how awesome is it that we get intense make out scene in episode 2. If we were going to measure it on a hotness/sexy meter it would definitely be a 10+. First I would like to say Happy Easter to all my readers out there. I know it has been a very emotional week for everyone following the Ferry Disaster in South Korea. Because of the television coverage for this tragedy 70% of this weeks programs were cancelled leaving me very little for a top 5. I was going to persevere and do my top 5 favorite villains in the current shows but then life happened and my kids got sick. So I am just going to call this weeks countdown cancelled and hope that everyone can understand. However on such a spiritual and heartbreaking week I wanted to do something so if you are interested in some amazing music feel free to check out one of these MV's and take a moment to pray or think about those taken and their families.

Scary birds, serial killers, hormonal angst, and the cast of running man discovering new uses for a water bottle, are all in this weeks top 5 kdrama countdown. Come and join us as we discuss this weeks best moments as well as some newly airing dramas.
#5 So Many Unexplained Birds
Hotel King debuted this week and surprisingly made our #5 spot on the countdown. I say surprisingly due to the fact that I did not particularly love this drama (at least so far). But the closing scene in ep. 2 really left a lasting impression so onto the list it goes. Ah Mo-Ne (Lee Da Hae - Iris 2, My Girl), the pampered heiress is in mid fight with her nemesis sexy Cha Jae Wan (Lee Dong Wook- My Girl, Scent of a Woman), when she stomps off across the courtyard. We hear a ear piercing scream when she sees a couple pigeons on the ground.

Now this might seem like a random scene to enjoy, but it leads us to the closing scene where some unknown intruder leaves a little warning (a pigeon corpse) on her bed. This sends her into a catatonic state and also allows our cold lead to see her vulnerable and needy. It was a great scene because not only does it bring our OTP closer together but also brings up the question "Why is she so freaked out over birds?" Did one poop on her designer shoes? Peck at her crazy hats? Cant wait to find out the answer and that alone will keep me watching this drama despite the lead girl's horrible acting.
#4 Teenage Hormones and Angst
Wild Chives and Soy Bean Soup has remained in my top favorite dramas several weeks running (seriously, I can't get enough of this drama). The sparks and plot heated up this week as our two young leads find themselves alone in the house watching soccer, and drinking a huge amount of champagne. It is no surprise when the extreme touching and hugging due to the soccer game turns into something more and our two cute teens take their skinship to the next level. However due to misunderstandings, insecurities, and just plain teenage angst, their morning after is not the thing of dreams. I love how this drama truly sucks you into their emotional state. It makes me truly thankful that I will never have to experience my teenage years again.

#3 A Terrifying Smile
I personally am just barely figuring out who MBLAQ is
so this is my first experience really noticing the idol turned actor
Lee Joon. Friends who are a lot more obsessive in their fandom then I,
began posting stills and teasers for this drama featuring him and I was
instantly hooked. This guys creepy smile is spectacular and now I can't
help just thinking he is a psychopath anytime I see his photo. But it
was his ability to instantly go from normal guy to crazy killer by a
twist of facial muscles that really brought this character to life.
An
inmate in the psych ward (we currently don't know for what) he makes
even other inmates nervous and he always seems to be wherever there is
Gap Dong drama going down. His pointed interest in our leading man is
sinister from the get go and when he interacts with the doctor I get shivers. I predict that he is going to be visiting my countdown again soon.
#2 The Death of Saet Byeol: Take 2
We have made it all the way from the first death of our little girl Saet Byeol to the unfolding of the same events a second time. For those of you who don't know the premise of Gods Gift - 14 Days I will provide a brief synopsis.
Kim Soo Hyun's daughter is murdered by a serial killer. For some unknown reason she is given a second chance and must relive the past 14 days in an attempt to find the killer and save her daughter.
This drama is truly brilliant. The writing is so extremely tight and intricate that you can rewatch from episode 1 and see layers upon layers of clues that are just playing out in the last few episodes. We are finally back to the beginning where Saet Byeol is kidnapped, but thanks to the efforts of Soo Hyun events progress slightly differently leaving clues that will eventually lead to the truth and hopefully save our mini heroine. It is fascinating to watch the same thing happen, yet see the differences. Can't wait to find out what the drama brings us this week.
#1 How to Properly Use a Water Bottle
I about died from laughing so hard during this last episode of the popular variety program Running Man and it is all thanks to one hilarious guest. Ryu Seung Soo (Wonderful Days) was teamed up with Jae Suk to complete various games/contests and advance in the competition. It just so happens that one of those games involved a construction cone going up one's booty. Between the two men they had to sit on this construction cone for a total of 3 minutes. Sounds easy in theory, however the reality of a pointy object inserted near one's bum is nothing to scoff at. After failing once they again have to attempt the quest and Ryu Seung Soo gets on the cone and totally goes into a zen induced zone. He achieves the needed time but trips as he is getting off the painful object. Unfortunately for him, it is discovered that he had cheated by putting a water bottle down his pants to protect his most sensitive area. This is truly not only winning this weeks coveted #1 spot, but also going on my list of favorite Running Man moments of all time. Let's just say that if Ryu Seung Soo ever decides to do variety, I will be an avid viewer of anything he is on.
