This is a little awkward of a post for me to make, but I feel like so much has changed on the blog in the past 18 months or so, that I really should take a moment and reintroduce myself. My name is Dongsaeng and I am actually, oddly enough, the founder of TCA, even though I'm the ahjumma most of you probably don't know.
I started this blog back in 2012 and invited my real life bestie, Unnie, to join me. A lot has changed since then. Unnie and I, after our initial humble beginnings and trying to get our blogging feet on the ground, both encountered some dramatics in our own private lives. This led to the eventual retirement of Unnie due to family demands and to us inviting KMuse into our little Crazy Ahjumma family. In the meantime, I had to go back to work full-time, which made blogging a near impossibility, what with work and family demands of my own. Thankfully KMuse was there and took up the flag and ran with it. And ran hard. She's been amazing! I really can never say enough sappy stuff about how awesome I think she is and how grateful I am that she came on board and put up with us as we were self-imploding.
Fast forward to today, and I am excited to announce that I have left my 8-6 job and will be returning to the blog as a much more frequent contributor. I look forward to reconnecting with you all and getting to know those of you that I don't know. Thank you ever so much for all your support that you've given to KMuse these past couple of years, and I just hope that I can come close to her awesomeness as we go forward from here! Please be patient with me as I dust my rusty self off. My work over the past year and a half has been lousy and dull; please, please, please don't judge me by that! I was so exhausted and had nothing left to give by the time I would sit down to write. I will work hard on finding my mojo and becoming a better Ahjumma! Yes, I have a *slight* complex right now and am terrified to come back, afraid that no one will like me. And maybe you won't, I don't know. But I'm sure going to try to win your hearts! ;)
Thanks for all of your continued support! You are all what makes this labor of love worthwhile!
~dongsaeng~
PS - I am just as socially awkward online as I am in real life, but I'd love to be your friend anyway! You can find me on FB, Twitter and Pinterest. I'm going to be working on rebuilding and growing my online presence (man, have I let myself go!), so if I add anything else in the future (like I hope to do once I'm back in the swing of things), I'll surely let you know!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DONGSAENG!!!!!
Guess what I am alive!! But just for today & this post, because this isn't just any old post, it's once again time to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year again. The day that bestest bestie in the entire world was born. I celebrate this day wholeheartedly & enthusiastically!!
{{Secret Admitting Time: I never know how to wish her a happy birthday as her birthday also coincides with Halloween...big time holiday for me. My favorite holiday, next to St Pat's Day & Christmas. I want to wish her a Happy Halloween but I don't want her to think I forgot it's her birthday either so I also want to wish her a Happy Birthday as well. So I think I have come up with a solution. Won't know though till I type it out if it's a good idea or just lame. Wish me luck!!}}

Dear Jess - 11-2-13
Blogger, being the ever dependable machine that it is known to be, won't let me comment, but lucky for me, I have admin rights and can just add on to your post here ;) Thank you so much for such a wonderful and sweet birthday message. I honestly don't know how I missed it before, but I'm just now reading it for the first time and am a mix of emotions as you can well imagine. Touched. Embarrassed. Amused. Jae fangirling. All the typical "me" kind of responses. I don't know why you think so highly of me, but I'm glad you do and everything you said I say right back to you. Love you Unnie! Thanks for always being there. If not for you I don't know where I'd be right now. Oh, and of course, thank you for only making me 25. I mean, wow, you totally got my age right even! Love you bunches and gobs, gutz and all!

Happy HalloBirthWeenDay Shannen!!!!
Yeah I'm not so sure about it either. Oh well on we go.
Just 25 years ago today, a gorgeous baby red head was delivered to earth. Someday, in her distant future she would meet a crazy woman, who is loud, sassy, snotty, sarcastic, exuberant, facing challenges galore & the two would be come the very bestest of best friends BECAUSE they are the perfect foil for each other.
One is quiet the other ... not.
One is tall the other.... not.
One is thin the other... not.
One is shy the other ... not.
Both love sarcasm, irony & mocking well everything they can.
Both love their families, even though sometimes the families are what drives them cray cray.
Both have the same faith.
Both LOVE to Laugh & therefore have very similar senses of humor.
I am sincerely hoping by now you have all figured out that I am talking about myself & my dongsaeng Shannen.
Warning Mushy Sisterly Ramblings:
Thank you so much for your willingness to put up with me Shannen. I adore your dry wit & your sarcasm & your heart. You have been one of my favorite blessings. I hope your day is filled with happiness, love, family, friends, (of which I know you have a plethora of each) & that you feel appreciated & spoiled & love every minute of it. And I hope the cold you felt coming on last night never took root so that you could enjoy YOUR day. Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you......
End of mushy sisterly ramblings.
In honor of our wonderful Dongsaeng's birthday everyone please send her your love & well wishes & lots of pictures, MVs & clips of; Jaejoong, G Dragon, Donghae, Aaron Yan, Lee Min Ho, Seo In Guk, Hyun Bin, TOP, Kangin, Siwon, Joo Won,
In the meantime I will share Jaejoong's latest song/MV on this post just for her...(and you guys too).
Saranghamnida,

Unnie's Wednesday Write Up: One of Those Days
I know I am not the only one on this wide beautiful planet to have "one of those days". I blame it on the end of summer blahs that are setting in, here in Wisconsin. When I lived in AZ, I LOVED winter. Couldn't get enough in fact. Hated summer, dreaded it. And would almost always go crazy come October when it was still in the 90s. I was ready for fall by October but fall was not ready to arrive in AZ. Oh I drove my husband batty about it, "This isn't fall! Fall is crisp air & cooler temps & falling leaves!" Bless his poor heart, I was a huge whiner. So when he was offered a job in Wisconsin I was ready for the change. But having spent a predominant amount of my life in a warm, super sunny, climate has made my transition to colder, wintry, snowy, icy, gray days a little bumpier than I expected. Don't get me wrong, Fall is AH-MAZING here. So beautiful! But fall is then followed by 6 months of miserably cold temperatures, Snow up to your waist, Ice, and more gloomy, gray, cloudy days than this So Cal chick can handle & I discovered I suffer from seasonal depression because of this winter climate. This last winter here was hard, as it seemed to go on forever still getting snow storms in mid to late April. I spent most of last winter begging my husband to look for a job back in AZ. Yep that was me, a complete 180 on my previous viewpoint about AZ. Again I say my husband is a saint.
I couple this 'blah feeling', on the fact that today, my eldest, child went to his high school freshman orientation. Tomorrow there is a freshman cook out & dance in the evening. His first high school dance. As he left this morning, I felt conflicted. I was so happy for him. Yet so sad for me. First, he's not my baby anymore and he was sincerely such a cute baby. Yes, all mom's think their baby is the cutest & the best. Second, it also means I am the mother of a high school kid, which makes me feel old, boring, useless & really quite unattractive. I picked the wrong addiKtion. I picked an addiKtion that focuses on being young & perfect & beautiful. None of these things can be used to describe myself. Normally, I still feel like I am in my early 20s. I don't look like I am but I feel like it. Today, for really the first official time, I actually feel like an ahjumma. Which has its perks, apparently on a city bus or subway in Seoul, I can be as loud & obnoxious as I want, because I am an ahjumma. So there's that. kekekeke...
While today has not been a bad day per se, it has been one of those days where I feel blah. Darn you end of summer, oncoming winter & darn you to kids getting older ergo making their parents feel their age! I spent the morning watching Barefoot Friends & getting my KHJ fix, which again as an ahjumma today I feel very weird liking a man 10 years younger than me. And I feel like I should apologize to KHJ for creeping him out. LOL The good thing is I picked a bias that doesn't really pay attention to the virtual world very often so woohoo he has no clue a pervy old lady drools over him. ^^ That helps my ego some.
But there are good things about being in the place I am age wise. I am past the diaper era, the potty training era, the having to sit & watch the many, many repetitive kid shows era. I can wear jewelry without worrying about them breaking it with little hands, that pull and tug, with the force of a sumo wrestler. My kids can dress & feed themselves, are perfectly content entertaining themselves, help clean up the house, & don't need to be constantly watched anymore. In short I can stop stalking them. Plus, my kids will all head back to school in a couple of weeks & I will get the house to myself again, at least for most of the day. Looking forward to peace & quiet throughout the house again.
To help cheer myself up from the 'blahs' I gave myself a treat on my Jess Unnie Profile on FB. A thread dedicated to Kim Hyun Joong. Sigh. And I encourage all of you who have already friended that profile to go check it out & add your own favorite videos to the thread. The world needs more KHJ. So even though he is completely unaware that he turned my mood from blah to happy I want to say, Kamsahabnida Kim Hyun Joong-ssi for just being you. Jjinja. This old lady thanks you for your smile & your talent. It brightened an otherwise blah day.
For those of you that aren't on FB, &/or aren't interested in friending Jess Unnie on FB, here are some of my favorite KHJ performances. Sigh what a nice voice he has. The videos are not mine, they aren't official, they are from his fans because they love him. And he appreciates his fans, even if just once he'd like to say, "Stop buying me food, I can do that, just buy my album instead." Classic KHJ, honesty. I bought your album. Which means you owe me dinner dude. ;)
Have a great day AddiKts. BTW The Master's Sun ep 5 is already almost finished subbing, I know what I will be watching while my son is at Tae Kwon Do tonight! Squeeee!!! Yep, the day is no longer so blah.
Saranghamnida,
I'm Your Man Live
One More Time Fanmeet in Tokyo
Because I'm Stupid Live
Kiss Kiss MV
And from his latest album Round 3, {{available on iTunes}} here are 2 of his MVs from:
The Official Kim Hyun Joong Youtube Page.
Your Story Official MV
Unbreakable Official MV
And one of my favorite moments of his. This interaction with his fan always melts my heart. He's so sweet & she is adorable. I LOVE the look on her face when Ho Dong moves the paper & her dream man is right there for her to stare into his eyes. She is so in love & adorable. Bless her little fan girl heart.
I hope this helped your day like it did mine. <3 Unnie

Unnie's Wednesday Write Up: Kim Hyun Joong's Unbreakable
Dear AddiKts,
I'm writing to you, today, to let you know our beloved Unnie has finally succumbed to the mental descent into a world filled with nothing but her bias, Kim Hyun Joong. Yes, Unnie is in her heaven & she's much happier there. I should go back to earlier in the week & help explain just what happened to put our Unnie into such a state of obsessed mania, the final snap in her mental acuity so to speak.
It all started late Wednesday night. Unnie had just finished drama-thoning All About My Romance & was checking FB one last time before retiring for the night. If only she hadn't thought to check, she might still be with us. But alas, check FB she did. We all know how much our Unnie loves Kim Hyun Joong but this time her love for him is what ultimately led to this mental break. As she opened her newsfeed to FB, one of the first posts she found belonged to the Official KHJ Facebook Page, it was the announcement for his latest single/MV, "Unbreakable". Unnie excited at the prospect of seeing her bias singing & dancing in all his sexy glory on her iPad was too much for her to wait until morning. So she opened up the MV in Youtube & that's when Unnie left this real world forever.
What a sight greeted her upon her arrival. Oh if only they had stopped at images like this....
But no the powers that be wanted to not just enthrall but enrapture our Unnie to the point of no return & so they continued on & on until finally these images are what did our Unnie in....
Is it any wonder our Unnie couldn't stand up to the mind blowing dancing, sexy, thrusting images of her bias as he danced & sang his way into her soul? Poor Unnie *sigh* she never saw it coming. And that is why we mourn her mental loss but we celebrate her happiness. She has gone beyond our world & is in a much happier place. Do not cry for her, do not pity her, no head shaking or saying "I told you so" for her, no we must be happy for our Unnie. For those interested the "Asylum" WILL give her care packages, after all she isn't a danger to herself or others. But please no KHJ items as they send her into a renewed frenzy & then they have no choice but to sedate her further. The physicians are working around the clock to bring our Unnie back from her mental breakdown. Will she be the Unnie we've all come to know & love so much? Only time will tell.
Sincerely,
The Management
*****Disclaimer #1: No this was NOT a real letter, I am find & dandy.....sort of...****
******Disclaimer #2: All of the images were found on the KHJ Official Facebook page, they are not mine.*****
KHJ's newest MV was phenomenal!!! And I have watched it myself, at least 40 times, give or take, since it's release!! Seriously, they should have put a warning on that video! I blame Keyeast for not properly warning viewers & fans of the danger to their mental well being if they viewed Unbreakable. So before I share it on here I will add my own warning label.
*************WARNING***************
The following video is will cause hot flashes, ovary explosions & quite possibly pregnancy. Watch at your own expense! You've been warned, proceed with caution.
And if that weren't hot enough, they also released the video of his latest photo shoot w Star1, the day before the MV released. And yeah....so incredibly handsome. Thank you Lord for Kim Hyun Joong!! Thank you so much!
Let's just say I had to give a warning to my friends & family on Facebook, following my private profile, that I was going to be blowing up my Pinterest Feeds, & that for any of them following me, they might want to "Un-follow" my Pinterest acct for Jess Unnie. I pinned somewhere around 300 pins that day, of just KHJ. Bringing the grand total for my probably really unhealthy addiKtion to 2766. *SMH* See it's admissions like this, that keep me from wanting to meet my bias in real life. Just sayin'. What do you say to the guy you have almost 3000 pictures of? "Um...yeah Hi, I swear I'm not as cray cray as I seem online." I figure that my pinning pics of him may be unhealthy BUT I do it for his safety & I consider it a bonus that keeps me from being arrested for creating an International "Incident" & of course goes without saying, the inevitable restraining order. Win Win. ^^
Well, that's it for this week's squee fest for KHJ. Come back next week, I'm pretty sure I'll still be squeeing away. In the meantime would you please go VOTE for Unbreakable at EYK for his video to be reviewed for one of their awesome KPop Music Mondays? Pretty Please?!?! As of Saturday night, when I actually wrote this post he was #7 on the charts. When I get back from my vacation I'd really like to see him in the somewhere in the Top 3. Thank you guise. I KNEW I could count on you to help me out. I've never seen a KHJ review on EYK. They may have done one, a long time ago, but I've not been able to find it in the archives. It would be really nice to see my #1 getting some spot light from them.
Have a wonderful week ladies & gents.
Saranghamnida,

P.S. Do you see how they are killing me?!?!?!
This is me at this point...

Unnie's Wednesday Write Up: What would YOU do if your Bias came to town?
Once upon a time a LONG LONG LONG time ago. Seriously, like really long ago, you know the same time the wheel was invented, I was a teenage girl. See? A REALLY long time ago. Shut up I was too a teenage girl...once. No! I wasn't ALWAYS an ahjumma, it was less than 20 years ago for crying out loud!! Now... shhh!
Wait where was I till you argued with me that I've always been old? o.O
.
.
.
.
Oh that's right! {{Sigh... Swiss Cheese Brain Strikes Again!}} Ugh!
Okay so, onceuponatime... I was a teenage girl. 19 years old & I was already engaged & had plans for the evening w my CA & some friends. But one of my bestest friends, that I am still bestest friends with today, called me at work to tell me breaking news! My crush du jour was in our town, Phoenix, AZ. I won't say who it was; as he has aged he's gone insane, & thinks he has tiger blood running through his veins now, & quite frankly I'm embarrassed to admit I crushed on him. He was there to donate some item of clothing he wore, in some movie he was in, to the newly opened Planet Hollywood, a restaurant owned by famous people, to show off their crap from movies. Anyway, my bestie had seen this in the newspaper & she said we should go & see him! And I was over the moon at the idea. I asked CA if it would be okay, if I blew off our double date to go drool over another guy, & as usual he was fine with it. What a guy, eh? So we went. We saw. We got autographs & pictures & we rocked. Of course that star was probably wasted & we all looked the same to him but who cares! We lived out every teenage girl's fantasy that night & I still have the pictures to prove it....somewhere. o.O I think?
Why am I telling you this? It has a purpose I promise. Recently a friend & reader from Hawaii went on her own quasi-quest to search out her own bias. As you may know Super Junior has been visiting & playing in Hawaii this last week. And her favorite of the group is Donghae. BTW my friend is my age; with kids in tow she took them to the same beach the SuJu boys had been spotted previously...to no avail. She had fun w her kids & went home. A day or so later her friend, who worked at the hotel SuJu stayed in, called her & excitedly whispered into the phone as she left my friend a message, "Pick up your phone! I think one of your Kpop guys just asked me a question and he came from the pool so he didn't have a shirt on. He looked good, girl...whoever he is.."
SuJu in Hawaii:
Of course we all, meaning the group of us she was telling this story to, freaked out that she had SuJu in her midst & yet did not immediately start the stalking process. We went totally krazed fan girl on her. Poor thing, never saw us coming. *SMH* Eventually she did make her way over to the hotel & looked around. But she said that while some fan girls lucked out & got a glimpse or picture/autograph, a lot more got nothing. Herself included.
In her own words, I'm not a 19 year old girl on summer break. I don't have the time or the willingness to camp out at a hotel to see them. Does it make me less of a fan? Probably but I was relieved to find that as I hoped...my Kobsession is just a part of who I am. In all my excitement, I never forgot I am a wife & mother."
Which made me respect her so much more. Then she asked me a question... I paraphrase.... "What would you do Jess if it happened to you? Would you be able to just drop everything to stalk?" And the truth is no, I probably wouldn't. I have 4 kids of my own, one of whom has special needs. So, without any notice or help set up first, then no, I would not be able to just drop everything & go stalk my bias. BUT it would be really really really tempting to just drop & everything & run like a lunatic towards the bias. Seriously tempting & I'd probably be all sad face & disappointed, not in front of my kids, but when they weren't looking. Yes, even if it was Kim Hyun Joong himself!! Of course, first I'd be wondering what the crap he was doing in Nowhere Wisconsin?!?! O.O But as much as I adore him, I remember I too, am a wife & mom first & foremost. See, I can be responsible too. Besides, do I really want to meet my bias in real life? I just don't know, simply because I think I would be embarrassed he'd think I am a complete whackadoo or worse an old lady! ^^ This is why I think it would just be common courtesy of our oppas & biases if they could just text us first you know something like, "Hey krazed stalker fan, I will be at dot dot dot on dot dot dot...clear your schedule I'm ready to be followed by nutjobs & whackadoos." Is that really too much to ask?!?!? I think not! O.O
I had another friend this week ask how would I react if my bias saw one of my tweets or comments & I KNEW he had seen it? I have to admit to not being able to answer her question satisfactorily. I talk a big game, claim KHJ as MINE on this here blog, mostly because I am safe in the knowledge he will NEVER know! LOL I picked a bias that doesn't even like smart phones, & never uses his twitter account to post cute selca's of himself. Which makes me sad as it brings me joy for my anonymity. LOL So I'm pretty sure he will never know I existed. Now I have tweeted a few K Idols over the last year BUT they are so popular I am sure they never get to see my cheers & congrats & happy bday wishes, as they very obviously get lost in the huge crowd of well wishers & fellow addiKts. Which is probably the only reason I feel safe tweeting them. I do recognize I am older than they are & I'm married & have kids. So I guess I can say the same thing. This AddiKtion is a part of who I am, but it isn't the whole me. I am a wife, mom, daughter, sister, friend, Sunday School teacher, avid book reader, movie watching, beach going, photography fan, who loves music & dancing & singing all the time! Who has a great sense of humor & hopefully not a skewed look at life. Not everything in my life revolves around stalking a bias. It just seems that way on here. I'm totally normal in real life. Honest! ^_^ {{Shut up Dongsaeng I am too totally normal! Shaw!! Like you're one to talk!}}
Does this mean I don't fantasize that one day, my bias just happens to see something I wrote or tweeted etc... follows it to my profile, sees a pic of me, becomes enamored & has to know more about me; therefore searches & reads through everything & falls head over heels for me & then seeks me out & says, "Run away with me, I'm in love with you?" Oh heck no! That fantasy is alive & kicking! Giggle. What? I'm human & I'm a girl AND I'm a hopeless romantic at heart! Who wouldn't want to be swept off their feet by the man of their dreams? What exactly happens to my husband & kids? I never think that part out. LOL But according to the rules of the "5" my husband has to let it happen, he's in my list then it's okay! hehehehe...
But what about you guys? Would you drop everything in your life to chase after that chance for the elusive oppa spotting or autograph opportunity? Would you don a pair of sunglasses, a head scarf & an overcoat & go in search of your bias, should he arrive in town or would you walk right up to him & demand pictures, autographs & hugs? Would you purposely seek him or them out? I don't think I could or would. IF I happened by an area they were visiting as well, & IF I thought they wouldn't mind then maybe. But having grown up in So Cal I learned early on, celebrities are just regular people w awesome jobs. If they aren't On at the moment I spot them, then I'd probably just giggle, stare a little without being too obvious & then.....leave them alone & go about my daily life. Unless I were at a signing event or a concert or something where they were supposed to be On, On camera, On stage, I'd let them just be themselves. Does this make me old? Boring? Not fun? A party pooper? Maybe but I'm okay with that.
If you missed any of the cute videos that SuJu has been posting from Hawaii this week then let me hook you up! Enjoy AddiKts, see you Friday!
I LOVE this hula dance to Spy!! Oh SuJu you have got to be so much fun to hang out with!
For my friend "M" here's Donghae for you sweetie.
Siwon shows us how to get to his hotel & some fun faces.
In the vein of Hawaiian vacays....Mahalo SuJu for the eye candy & the giggles. You guys rock!
Saranghamnida,
Wait where was I till you argued with me that I've always been old? o.O
.
.
.

| I bet he looked good! Dang Good! |
Which made me respect her so much more. Then she asked me a question... I paraphrase.... "What would you do Jess if it happened to you? Would you be able to just drop everything to stalk?" And the truth is no, I probably wouldn't. I have 4 kids of my own, one of whom has special needs. Unnie's Wednesday Write Up: {{Fan Girling All Over the Place!}}
I don't have a lot of time AddiKts. My parents are in town, 4th of July was yesterday, my youngest's 7th birthday is today, & I'm trying to help my teen get packed for 2.5 weeks of sleep away camp in Northern WI, which he leaves for tomorrow morning, at the crack of dawn. It's been just a tad bit busy in this house this week. Okay it usually is pretty busy but this week is on steroids! So Just 2 things of great importance that I am squeeing about & have to freak out & let my fan girl go Krazy for & no other place, I can think of, I can go, & have a little KPop happy dance, is better than this here K everything blog. ;)
Now unless you were in a cave somewhere, incapacitated by a coma, or off planet, then you know that Junsu's latest single, off his latest album, finally dropped in iTunes around the world. Along w the most amazing MV!! If not then let me tell you all about it & listen to me while I go totally fan girl insane! No really. Ask my kids. You guys know I heart The Junsu. Like seriously, I heart him as one of my favoritest of the favorites! He has the most divine voice & he is so cute, funny, talented, incredibly sexy. There is KHJ, Bae Young Joon, Junsu, Kang Ji Hwan & then GD. My TOP 5 crushes.
So I watched his MV first thing Tuesday morning, still laying in bed dazed & trying to wake up fully while I watched the MV. Which of course, since I was still waking up meant that I HAD to watch it only about 5000 times in a row {{& somewhere in there purchase the single off iTunes}}. It's still being played repeatedly over my iPod. Oh Junsu your voice is ah-mazing! The MV starts off the 1st half in total a Capella. Just the purity of Junsu's beautiful voice. Then the piano comes in very softly & at the same time the filters on the MV change very subtly. It was mesmerizing. Perfectly suited to the song & the feelings they were going for. Now Dongsaeng postulated that it would be awesome if the person playing the piano were none other than, JYJ group member Jaejoong, her idol. I thought that would be perfect too. So fingers crossed it is JJ.
Now the most amazing part of this video is two fold; one Junsu is singing completely LIVE w just nature sounds in the back ground & two the MV was done in ONE single shot/take. No fancy editing. just Junsu. Raw, emotional, moving & brilliantly talented. I have to admit that lately MOST of the MVs that have been coming out have felt, to me, very cookie cutter, very random & chaotic with too much crap shoved it of everything that is supposed to be cool in an over the board attempt to be cool. but when you try that hard to be cool well it isn't cool. So I honestly haven't that big a fan of a lot of the MVs recently. But this one blew my mind. It was spectacularly simple. Brilliantly simple. I LOVED it. As for the song itself...I think, again this my opinion, it's the perfect sad, break up , unrequited love song. Perfect for gloomy days, sad days, days when I need a good cry. It has an OST feel to it. I could totally picture this song being used in one of those horribly sad breakup, lost love scenes in a K Drama.
But enough fan girling here is the MV.
Junsu 11 am MV
{{BTW, if you want the translation of the lyrics into English, click on the 'CC' button at the bottom of the MV}}... Enjoy!
Junsu, even my 14 year old son, who prefers Dub step & Big Bang LOVED the MV, he was blown away.
And this brings me to my 2nd Fan Girl Krazed moment of today. I got home from shopping with my kids to pick up the last of my teen's needs for camp & helping my 7 year old pick out his birthday present & found that a big announcement came through for my very first crush.
KIM HYUN JOONG is COMING BACK TO K Dramas!!!
According to Han Cinema he is anyway.... It doesn't say when BUT he IS coming back...provided that KDramaland doesn't disappoint us again. {{AKA The City Conquest Debacle}} The title of his next drama, date unknown, is "Generation of Youth". Shanghai 1930s Film Noir. I look forward to more details & will give them on the FB page or my Unnie FB/Twitter pages when I know more.
I CANNOT WAIT!!! Is the understatement of the year!!
I have loved being able to see him every single week on Barefoot Friends. I thoroughly enjoyed watching him lose his swim trunks this week racing (& losing) against little pro in training divers. I have no idea what the BFF concept is for the show as it keeps changing its format & concept each week. But I LOVE the cast, yes especially KHJ, & I believe they are finally getting comfortable with one another & the newbies are getting comfortable with a camera in their faces too. So if you haven't BFF check it out when you get the chance. The first few eps are slow & long but it has picked up its pace quite nicely, even though they still haven't figured out the purpose of the show.
And one last KHJ squee worthy video...
Finally he sings/performs Gwiyomi for his fans. So cute!!!
Okay now I really need to get back to my family. Have a great week & my parental units leave next Tuesday morning, I will work on getting those GFB reviews out to you as fast as I can starting Tuesday. Thank you for your patience!

Unnie's Wednesday Write Up: {{I just want to talk K}}
Annyeong AddiKts!!
First off thank you to my Dongsaeng & the few of you brave readers, who were willing to contact me or leave messages for me, wishing me Happy Birthday yesterday. It was very sweet of you to remember me & take the time to send me good wishes. I am touched. Truly. When asked by my non Korean AddiKt friends how I chose to celebrate my Birthday it was hard to answer, that for MY birthday, I simply wanted to go for a 90 minute drive, one way mind you, into Chicago to the H Mart & get more Korean treats for myself. Of course, I included a quick tryst with MY KHJ!
I would have made it a longer visit but CA, my real life Oppa, was with me...can you say Awwwwkwwwaaaarrrrd? o.O
Yeah...so I had a , *giggle/wink-wink* "quickie" with MY KHJ. *snort-giggle*
Friends: So Jess what did you do to celebrate your birthday?
Me: I went to the supermarket!!! OMO OMO OMO OMO It was so awesome!!!
Friends: O.O
What can I say, I don't need much to make me happy, I'm a very laid back California Gurl.
But I DO have one request... Next year can we skip my birthday? I really don't want to remember that I will be at the end of my 30s next year. I'd like to avoid it at all costs quite frankly...yes THIS is my mid life crisis, welcome to the party, there's Kpop blaring from the speakers, just loud enough to make the neighbors call the police on us, & there are sexy pics, gifs & videos of the oppas in the back room, no significant others allowed, please? It helps perpetuate the fantasy. Thanks. (^_-)
Last week I told you guys I've been uber busy & that is true & still ongoing. Besides my birthday it's almost the end of school for the year here. I CANNOT WAIT!!! Like seriously I am going to non stop drama watch all day long the first week we are out of school, in my ratty pjs no less. I'm gonna get my cray cray obsessed butt into K Drama ONLY mode!! Just 10 days to go. This plan will be implemented June 10th - the 14th. Just one week to be a lazy, agoraphobic bum. Then I'll start taking the kids out here & there & scheduling play dates for my littles etc... And allowing my teen to have his friends come over again. But I need one week, one solid week of K Drama watching to decompress from this insane school schedule we've been on for the last 9 months.
This WILL be ME!!!!

I haven't watched any K Dramas BUT Gu Family Book in 3 weeks!! I'm getting twitchy. I've been all 'early to bed, early to rise'...blech! What's the longest you've had to go without K Dramas since you became a K Drama AddiKt were introduced to this fabulous world of romance, comedy, action & shmexy Oppas? I still have another week to go can you beat that record?
Although I did catch up on all of the Barefoot Friends episodes I had missed [episdoes 3,4, & 5] on Friday & then this morning I watched episode 6...I needed MY KHJ fix before I went back to attempting to be Supermom. {{I fail miserably at Supermom 97% of the time, just an FYI but I try & that counts a little right?}} BTW Barefoot Friends does not count as K Drama, it's a reality show therefore my dry spell on K Dramas will be one month by the end of next week. I deserve a Mom of the friggin Year award for that!!! The only reason I get away with GFB is because it's my review for this here blog. Thank Heavens because otherwise, I might have already climbed a clock tower by now, if I didn't have at least my review show to watch. Oh TCA blog I love you so much for giving me a KDrama excuse!
Okay I'll stop whining about my lack of K Drama now. Like I say I am still getting my KHJ fix in the form of Barefoot Friends & his company has been providing me extra "Fixes" with the release of 3 new teasers for his latest JPop release. I cannot wait to see the MV! The song drops on June 6th (HIS BIRTHDAY) & I am going crazy waiting for June 6th!! {{Yes, I am aware I am already pretty crazy.}} Next week, next week, next week, next week...!! For all my fellow KHJ AddiKts, I know you are out there & I know you probably hate it when I call him MY KHJ, to that I say sincerely & humbly, "TOO BAD SUCK IT UP PRINCESSES!!!" You want to claim him as your own, get A BLOG & then claim him on there. That's how I did it. ^^ But for you guys I leave the 3 different teasers. Remember as these are his Japanese album they don't leave the MV or the teasers online for very long, I can't guarantee for how long these videos will still work, so watch them while you can!

Happy Birthday Unnie!
Guess what??? It's that time again! Birthday tribute time! This time it's personal. That's right... Jess... this birthday tribute is for you!!!
Would it be cheating to just link you to last year's post? After all, I still feel the same way about my sweet Seoulmate and Seoul/Soul Sister. Okay, okay. Sure, I am crazy insanely wrapped up in real life shenanigans and woefully behind in my Nine reviews. I won't even point out that I've missed 3 of my Monday Morning Therapies (no one said anything about those so I guess they really weren't even missed). Obviously the love needs to come showering upon my dearest Unnie on this her very special day, so, forgive me for popping in momentarily, hitting the pause button on life, and taking care of some serious business here. See, you see, she's totally worth it. This lady is phenomenal, as many of you have come to learn for yourselves. Seriously, tremendously awesome. Funny. Sweet. Sassy. Brave. Loving. Considerate. Generous. Gorgeous. She is fun and full of life and spending time with her just brings a smile to your face. She needs to know and hear just how freaking amazing she is! So there it is. Jess, you're freaking amazing and I love that you are in my life and that I can claim you as my very bestest friend. I hope you enjoy your YOU day! Love you bunches and gobs, guts and all!

If you get a moment or two today, join with me in wishing our lovely Unnie the very happiest of birthdays!
Would it be cheating to just link you to last year's post? After all, I still feel the same way about my sweet Seoulmate and Seoul/Soul Sister. Okay, okay. Sure, I am crazy insanely wrapped up in real life shenanigans and woefully behind in my Nine reviews. I won't even point out that I've missed 3 of my Monday Morning Therapies (no one said anything about those so I guess they really weren't even missed). Obviously the love needs to come showering upon my dearest Unnie on this her very special day, so, forgive me for popping in momentarily, hitting the pause button on life, and taking care of some serious business here. See, you see, she's totally worth it. This lady is phenomenal, as many of you have come to learn for yourselves. Seriously, tremendously awesome. Funny. Sweet. Sassy. Brave. Loving. Considerate. Wednesday Write Up: {{ I show you my Krazy }}
So for this week's WWU I have had on my mind several different things all at once actually...just curious of my fellow AddiKts about a few things that I have experienced, since I started K Dramas & want to see if any of you might have too...
Up first, those moments when you are so caught up in the story that you find yourself screaming at the TV in anger & frustration, laughing like a maniac, cringing at the the stupid thing your character is about to do; that will lead to their own humiliation &/or trouble. Many a night I have woken up CA with my, I'm sincerely trying to stifle, albeit unsuccessfully reaction, to what is happening on the screen. Not to mention the many times my kids have just stared at me as though I'm insane for the same reason. And it isn't always dramas that have this effect on me. Barefoot Friends, Running Man, 1N2D, Strong Heart have all left me in stitches because I couldn't stop laughing like a lunatic. Just recently while watching Incarnation of Money's 2nd to last episode I was so grateful he wasn't at home, that I was alone as I went all crazy ahjumma screaming at my laptop & practically bouncing up & down in my manic breakdown. I was a complete nut job. Had a hard time falling asleep after that episode too. Awake for hours! Yeah, coffee is nothing, if you need to stay awake, compared to what an intense cliffhanger ending of a single K Drama episode can do to you, especially you already know that the answer to the cliffhanger will air the next day.
And last but not least, that desperate need to look up the actors in the Dramas you're watching, particularly the ones you are just seeing for the first time. You become obsessed with their past dramas, movies, & forget about it if they are also KPop stars then you have to hear their music & watch their MVs. I won't make any reference here ... {{*cough*cough*Dongsaeng & her *cough*cough* obsession cough* cough* with Jaejoong after she watched Protect the Boss*cough*cough*}} Was that subtle enough? You don't think she'll notice my coughing fit do you? o.O Oh no! I won't mention names mostly because I am guilty of it too. The first time was Kim Hyun Joong after watching Boys Over Flowers which led to Playful Kiss & SS501 & then him as a solo artist, then it was Hyun Bin in Secret Garden, which led to Sam Soon & The World Within & then it was Jung Yong Hwa in You're Beautiful which led me to have to watch Heartstrings. It's what led me to KPop to begin with. With each new drama & new drama star (even the girls) if it was a good drama or if I liked the chemistry, acting or whatever magical thing it was, I have to see what else they've been in & see if they were as good in that.

P.S. And in case you didn't know Drama Fever announced the winners for the 2012 Drama Fever Awards there are even some really sweet acceptance speeches.

Up next, a good portion of us that love K Dramas, especially here in the US, do not even speak Korean & therefore rely, quite heavily, on those awesome wonderful subbers, who enable our K Drama fetish so nicely, by translating them for us. But there are a few things I have found myself doing, my moments of 'lost in translation' madness, if you will. In the beginning of this new found passion, I always noticed the subs. But I had watched a ton of foreign films, so I was also used to them. Now when I am watching K Dramas I don't even realize that they are there. The first time I realized this was happening to me, about 3 months into this addiKtion, for just a split second I could swear I spoke perfect Korean. Yes, I did for a split second I thought, 'Wow I am really beginning to understand this language!' & then I realized I was reading the screen & immediately thought, 'I am so glad I didn't say that out loud to anyone!'

| I am a TRIED & TRUE K Drama Fan! |
Then a few days, weeks, who knows how long later, my kids were home while I was watching & they were being excessively loud & I couldn't hear the K Drama and I yelled, I actually yelled at them, in exasperation no less, "HEY!! GUYS!! Can you please hold it down or take it outside I can't hear what they're saying!!" They all stopped & stared at me, looked at the computer screen & then back at me & it was my daughter who, at the time, was 7 years old, was the 'voice of reason' when she said, , "Mommy you can't understand what they're saying, you're reading the screen, why do we have to be so quiet for you to read?" O.O "Well.... ummm.... just... just go outside & play! Geesh!" She had me right then, it wasn't until later that I finally had a come back, she was in bed though, so it did me no good. But the next day I told her, "Mommy likes to hear the music & the way the characters say their lines so I can get a better understanding of what the feeling is in the scene." I thought I was so clever, Oh yeah! I bested my 7 year old, but apparently she had already moved on, at least that was my interpretation of her simple shrug & eye rolling as she walked away from me to get ready for school.
My next example is one we're all too familiar with, at least I hope others are as familiar with it as I am...that desperate need to see the next episode, of an already finished airing in Korea drama. We tell ourselves, "I'll be responsible I'll just watch one more episode & then I'l..." But 5 hours later & we're still glued to the screen of our computer. It could be Lord of the Flies in our houses but we've been sucked into episode after episode after episode. What the crap?!? How do they do that??? I have finally learned when to walk away from a K Drama. The perfect time to turn off a K Drama is in the middle of an episode, after the problem of the last episode has been solved & before the next one begins, the happy/boring setting up the next plot device part. It could be 10 minutes in, 20 min or even only 10 min left in the whole show...that is when you turn it off & either get sleep, feed yourself or take care of those around us or our myriad other responsibilities we've ignored while we were staring like a band of slack jawed, decaying zombies, at the screen. But in the beginning & every once in a while when it's a really great drama, yes I'm talking to you Sungkyunkwan Scandal, that I can't stop myself from loading ep after ep on my iPad or laptop or Hulu on my TV or .... you get the idea, I won't go on.
And last but not least, that desperate need to look up the actors in the Dramas you're watching, particularly the ones you are just seeing for the first time. You become obsessed with their past dramas, movies, & forget about it if they are also KPop stars then you have to hear their music & watch their MVs. | Don't tell my husband!! O.O Gasp!! |
How do perfectly sane, normal people like you & I {{Watch it, all you smart alecs! I am so sane! My mother had me tested. BTW: Did anybody get that reference there? Here's a hint: you have to love brainiacs & nerds in order to get the reference.}} What is it? What is the power behind the K Drama ability to make me act like I am a woman possessed? How do they do it? I see the subtle & not so subtle differences between US TV & Korean, I've already dished on that so I won't be going into it again. I think it boils down to K Dramas have magical abilities. That's it. They're are using supernatural powers to make me their zombie slave. And the funny thing is, I don't actually mind. Not even a little bit. Keep up the great job K Dramas, K Actors, K Actresses. Just keep me entertained. That's all I ask.
I hope everyone had fun reading about how Krazy I actually am & I hope to hear soon some of the insane things K Dramas have gotten you to do since you started being hypnotized by their magical power. Don't be shy guys. I showed my Krazy, you show me yours. Fair is fair after all.

Unnie's WWU: Spreading the love...of KDrama.
Hello. My name is Jessica. I am a K Drama AddiKt.
I have been watching K Dramas now for over 2 years. I was introduced to K Dramas by my best friend. (The better writer on this blog). She had just started watching My Princess, thought it was cute & asked me to give it a try & I said, "Eh... Why not?!? Sure." I've always liked foreign films, why not give foreign TV a chance too. Within 24 hours I was 12 episodes into the drama & surpassing my best friend & then waiting for the next episodes to air on Hulu.
Then we watched them together. Our "Squees" could be heard throughout our perspective neighborhoods, I am sure. Since my induction into the wonderful world of K Dramas I have branched out to J Dramas, Taiwanese Dramas & KPop & JPop.
Since I became a Korean Drama AddiKt in the early spring of 2011, I have completed 73 dramas & 15 movies, Korean, Taiwanese & Japanese combined. According to MyDramaList that is 15 days of uninterrupted viewingobsession pleasure. Honestly, I'd probably have more but I have 4 kids & a husband, who for some strange reason, think I should spend time with them too & not just the characters in my shows. Whatever! I have also converted 2 other women into becoming full time Korean drama addiKts as well. Then I started this blog, with my best friend, so that we could help those who were either just discovering K Drama & wanted some help to understand it better. Or to give those, like us, who watch but then had nowhere to go to vent our frustrations, our joys, our tears, our angst, our insanity, over these lovely dramas, a safe place to be an addiKt. Who knew, right?!?! I say to myself it's just a TV show. Because, really, it is, Logically, I know, it is just a TV show. And yet somehow it's infinitely more than that.
It's the "Je ne sais quoi" that keeps us coming back for more & more. It's the romance. It's the fact that it's cleaner than US TV. It's the absurdity. It's the drama. It's the humor. It's the shmexy, shirtless, shower scene men. * wink/wink* It's the nice break from reality. It's the different culture. It's ALL of that & so much more.
This blog's purpose is to give other men & women, who are all alone in the addiKtion grip, a place they can go & squee & vent & rant & rave & commune with other crazed addiKts. We're no Dramabeans. We ain't got a crew of pithy, trained writers; well versed in Asian culture, who can dish on dramas in a well informed way. Nah, we're still learning & discovering. And we're no allkpop, we ain't got a crew of people willing to dig through millions of celebrity news blurbs, Twitter feeds, Facebook profiles, Instagram accounts, Weibo accts, etc... Were just 2 lone women (moms/wives) living in the suburbs, in 2 completely different parts of the US, who wanted to talk K stuff. We knew there were others, like us, out there that wanted to not feel so alone. It was all dongsaeng's idea. She knew there were others, like us, that needed to know they weren't insane. Well, no more than we are, which really doesn't say much... *see title of blog* We aren't searching for notoriety or fame or a fandom. Not that those things wouldn't be cool but mostly we just want to talk K Everything. All the time & to anyone that issimple minded enough willing enough to listen to us blather on & on.
And we've discovered that we may just be a bit of a conundrum to those, who probably think we're even crazier than we do, no not our families although they really do think we're nuts. You guys, our fellow AddiKts, don't say much to us, I think it's blogger's fault. I know that the comment link at the bottom of the posts don't always show up on the blog. I haven't the foggiest idea why. But we know you come & see us. Blogger has a back door, or a dashboard if you will, for each blog owner, that shows which countries visit the blog on a daily basis. Our biggest viewership comes from right here in the United States, which makes us say, "Yay!", since that was our original purpose. (To help other non-Asian peeps here in the US know that they are not alone in their K Drama love, over 76K views from the US alone, thanks guys!!) But we get visits from other countries too, the UK, Canada, & Australia are good to us as are other European countries; France, Italy, Germany & Spain are just a few. And oh South America you are good to us too. But this isn't surprising as South America was on the K Pop bandwagon long before we were, they also get more KPop concerts than we do because of the huge fan base there for KPop. You go South America! But a huge portion of our visits, more than all those other places, come from Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, & Vietnam (combined over 28K visits from different parts of Asia). And a growing number from South Korea itself. Every time we see an Asian country show up in our counter we are ecstatic. And when we see South Korea visit us, we are in rapture. We haven't the foggiest clue what you are reading, why you are visiting us, what keeps you coming back, we don't know your gender, age range, or skin color, just the fact that you are viewing us from South Korea, & that rocks socks!
We are doing our best to spread the K Love guys. We want everyone to love you as much as we do. We think you are pretty awesome, in case you couldn't tell. And we thank you for your views. Hopefully, you are happy to see such interest in your country & it's culture. Hopefully, we aren't insulting you & you aren't at this very moment trying to get an injunction to get us to stop talking about something of which we have no real clue. Hopefully, we don't look too foolish. We really do lead totally normal lives outside of this world, we have created, in this blog. I have 4 kids, my dongsaeng has 2. We help in our community, we volunteer at our kids schools, we have busy lives that have nothing to do with this part of ourselves. But I watch very little US TV now. I listen to almost all K Pop. I order make up from Korea or go to the Face Shop in Chicago (over an hour away from my house) to buy my BB Cream & other skin care products. I am exploring cooking Korean food & trying to learn my 3rd language...that last one is slow going...because again I lead a very busy life that has nothing to do with my addiKtion.
We just really, really like you guys & your world. We would dearly love to hear more from you, connect with you, get to know you better. We've actually been so buy that we haven't properly celebrated our one year anniversary as The Crazy Ahjummas. That's right it's been over a year since our first official TCA post. We have no idea how we want to celebrate. Now accepting ideas. *giggle*
And with that I have to close. I have laundry to separate & a sick child at home that is finally asking for some food. No one told me I would have to feed my kids everyday! Sigh.
I hope you guys have a great week. This is our last week discussing I Miss You, I can't wait to see how it turns out! I'll see you Friday Addikts. And remember....

Unnie's WWU: How BAD is my addiKtion?!? o.O
Last night I finished off Flower Boy Next Door. Did any of you get to see the last ep yet? {{Note* If NOTspoiler ahead skip the next few sentences}} I will miss this sweet fluffy little drama. It wasn't the best written drama. And the chemistry (Okay the kiss left a lot to be desired) but the final kiss was much better. It had a sweet wrap up ending full of happiness & simplicity. Trite, predictable but sweet nonetheless. Sigh. Thankfully I am totally & happily in love with Incarnation of Money! Like seriously it's going to be my favorite for this year I think! Like AGD was for last year! Kang Ji Hwan is just so perfect in his role as Lee Cha Don! I only wish I had enough time to review both IMY & IoM!! :( I am watching so many dramas right now it's not even funny. My obsession is as strong as ever! And it's so awesome! It has me wondering though...just how much is it affecting my life? I've been thinking about it a lot actually & wondering if I am the only one out here, in this AddiKtion, that's trying to fully immerse themselves into another culture, even though they have no link or ties to that culture except through the internet?!?! o.O
How exactly has your K obsession effected your life? How have you incorporated it into your home? How much time & energy do you spend watching K Dramas, MVs, Interviews, Musical montages of K Dramas or your bias all smooshed together on YouTube? Do you still watch your regular programming on regular TV? So you still listen to the music in your country & have favorite artists in your country? Do you have photo books, magazine pictorials, posters of your bias in your home or on the walls in your home? How much has your AddiKtion affected your life?
Today I want to willingly & openly discuss what this AddiKtion has done to my life.
I will admit, until I went to Calif for my super fabu K weekend (Girls only) I had never bought a single thing online. I had music from iTunes but I had never bought a CD or whole album that I could hold in my hand. All the pictures I had were strictly found online & saved to my home computer (much to CAs dismay I am sure), to my laptop (much to my joy), & my iPad/iPhone.
Growing up in my father's house was not easy. He's a good man, but an exacting one too. Control issues like you would not believe. I was not allowed to decorate my own room. I did not pick out my furniture, bedding, window treatments or the colors on the wall (which was always just plain white). I was not allowed to hang posters or anything on my walls without first getting them approved & even then he decided what hung where & everything had to be framed. I am not kidding. I didn't get to be my like my girlfriends & have dozens of fan mag pics covering every surface of my room. I wasn't even allowed to waste my money on purchasing the fan mags to begin with. And my room had to be organized & clean at all times, bed made, furniture dusted, closets & drawers ruthlessly organized. I was given what he called "junk drawers" in my nightstands on each side of my bed for my mish-mash of various & sundries. But even my junk drawers would be dumped on my bed, & I ordered to clean them out, if they got too cluttered or messy. OCD to the enth power, chincha.
{{Sidebar: This is why, even though I hate that my kids rooms are a pig sty, they are their rooms & I just flat out tell them I refuse to walk into your room from here on out. If you want to live like a pig, fine! It's your sty, just keep it in your room & keep your door shut, so I don't have to see it. And this is also why I let my kids decorate their rooms however they want & choose everything themselves. It's just a room & it's not MY room, kids need to express themselves & need to feel like they have a place they can be themselves. Their room is the perfect spot. I can always redecorate later, even if it means I have to scratch & burn the room. LOL So if you ever come to my house, don't ask to see the kids rooms, I can't guarantee you'll come out alive! O.O}}
As a result of my not getting to be a teenage girl like my friends, I have found myself slowly reverting back to the days of my youth & the longing that comes from wanting to decorate my room/house w posters & pics of my fav actors, Kpop stars & dramas. Of course, as I share a room w my husband, I feel it might be a bit much to ask him to have to put up with pics of Kim Hyun Joong or Big Bang on every surface. IDK why but for some reason he wasn't the least bit interested when I asked if I could hang this pic above our bed?!?! o.O
I blame the influence of the KPop Crack store we found in the Korean Mall in Koreatown in LA. It was the moment I walked into my new Mecca that I realized I wanted to buy ALL the Kpop stuff in the whole world. And a monster was created. Of course there is one problem...not enough money. My friends who were with me, were both a help in keeping me from spending, but they were also one of the reasons I went back into the store several times to grab more. Every time they showed me what they had, I decided I had to have one of those too! Dongsaeng showed a lot more restraint that I did, but even she bought stuff she didn't need. All we went in there for was to get the BB Crown Light Stick for the BB Alive concert, instead I came out nearly $150 poorer by the time I was finished. *SMH* Don't worry, I didn't forget the Light Stick! As if!
We won't even mention that I went into a couple of other cute K stores & bought more stuff & the Face Shop is going to break my bank account! It's KHJ's fault. He calls to me to shop there because his face is plastered on every available surface & the women who work there think I am hysterically funny!!
{{I am of course but looks aren't everything you know! Aish!}}
But my husband is such a good husband, he just smiles, shakes his head & teases me. But he never once complained or nagged. I managed to keep it to just music on iTunes after I got home but then another friend & I went on our own little exploration of Korea Town in Chicago (in Jan) & once again I was in the throes of MUST. HAVE. ALL. The. KPOP. STUFF!!! (Yes this trip included the Face Shop as well...evil place!)
I called my husband from KPop America, a store in the Schaumburg Mall in Illinois, & asked him if I could get a bunch of KHJ posters & make a shrine to him in the back of my closet? I even offered to buy him a bunch of GG posters to make it even! See I'm a cool wife. He left it up to me, which is him saying, "Of course, sweetie! I have no problems with you worshiping another man, in our bedroom closet!" At least that's what I heard. *whistles innocently*
And so I did. I made a KHJ shrine in my closet, basically I covered every inch of available wall space w a KHJ poster. My teenage son said I'm just missing candles for my worship. kekekeke... He's not wrong. I also have a KHJ desk calendar on my nightstand along w photo book behind it.
I still watch 2 or 3 US TV shows, I love Bones, & The Big Bang Theory & occasionally Castle but for the most part I just watch K Dramas & K reality shows. I love Running Man!! I am still watching re runs of 1N2D & Strong Heart. Love that Dimple best of all. I still listen to US music too P!NK, 5 Finger Death Punch, Green Day, Eminem, ... but there is FAR more KPop on my iPod than US rock.
I'm even teaching myself, with the help of the amazing people at The Talk to Me in Korean website how to read, write & speak Hangeul. I love learning other languages. I had so much fun learning French in school. Of course learning alone, online, while trying to balance a family of 6 & all the responsibilities that accompany that role is not easy, so my lessons are very slow going. I find I have to repeat the lessons regularly before I have really got everything down enough to move on. I am loving every minute of it.
I keep all my favorite K Sites within easy reach on my link bar above. One quick click & I can check out K news, watch K drama, look for MVs on YouTube. If you have fav sites that you don't see in the pic let me know & I will check them out & most likely add them to my list of favs as well.
And I have a huge list of K-related YouTube Channels I subscribe to as well. Including EYK. Cannot miss Music Monday or FAPFAP or WANKs!!!
And of course who can forget my Pinterest boards. Ahhhh I find such joy in saving pins of all of my favorites to Pinterest.
Btw did ya notice....I have over 2000 pins of KHJ alone. Seriously I need an intervention. I keep thinking I need to just stop pinning him. If for some strange reason I actually meet him I will be SO incredibly embarrassed to admit to all these pins of him!! But then I see others pin him & that they have almost as many pins of him as I do & I think, "OH HECK NO SHE DIDN'T!" LOL Yeah at this point it's a mix of how much I admire him & also the competitiveness of my nature. Must have the MOST KHJ pins of all!! O_O Nope I'm not crazy. Not. At. All. {{Pardon me while I roll my eyes again @.@ }} Especially since I am sure someone that's even bigger freak than I am probably has a million more than I do. But in my head I have the most KHJ pins. Of course in my head everything sounds better. kekekeke...
Considering I am co-founder of a blog dedicated to all things Korean, you might say well her family & friends must not bother her about her AddiKtion too much or at all. You'd be so wrong! None of my friends or family reads this here blog, except those who are also AddiKted! (which totals to about 3 ppl beside Dongsaeng)
Even though my son likes Kpop music too, has a ton of it on his iPod & even CA has a few songs himself, & even though my son likes Japanese Anime & the action K Dramas they all still tease me & try to knock my K dramas & music all the time! It's okay, it doesn't bother me. In fact, I know that CA has at least a slight interest in all this stuff...like I said he has a few KPop songs in his repertoire & last week he bought his first Korean Movie on DVD. The Thieves. Very good movie! He said he saw it at Best Buy & it looked interesting. He brought it home & said, "You're going to laugh at me." I asked why & after he told me & I said "AWESOME!" He then announced that as soon as the episode of the show I was marathoning was over, he was going to put in the movie so we could watch it right away. He liked it a lot. Enough that I got him to watch one episode of Iris 2 with me, which he didn't really care for. He said it was "Confusing as crap!" LOL Of course he hadn't seen the first Iris so he was really lost. Even after all that, he still teases me, he'll never fully admit that he kind of likes this Korean AddiKtion of mine, heaven forbid he let me think I am right about something!!
I saw a pin on Pinterest yesterday, that perfectly summed up my reaction every time one of my family (ie CA) disses my K Dramas or KPop...
So you see, I love my AddiKtion & yes it influences almost every part of my world, to some degree. BUT I still have a sense of humor about it. I remember that not everyone is going to love my K World, in other words not everyone can be perfect. :)
Tell us how bad is your addiKtion. No one will judge you here. This is a safe zone. I am Krazy enough to admit the severity of my AddiKtion you can feel free to admit yours too. And to help encourage you to be even more Krazy I will leave you all the latest MV from Teen Top to get you up & moving & help your Wednesday pass that much faster...
Have a great rest of the week AddiKts!!
Saranghabnida,
How exactly has your K obsession effected your life?
{{Sidebar: This is why, even though I hate that my kids rooms are a pig sty, they are their rooms & I just flat out tell them I refuse to walk into your room from here on out. If you want to live like a pig, fine! It's your sty, just keep it in your room & keep your door shut, so I don't have to see it. And this is also why I let my kids decorate their rooms however they want & choose everything themselves. It's just a room & it's not MY room, kids need to express themselves & need to feel like they have a place they can be themselves. Their room is the perfect spot. I can always redecorate later, even if it means I have to scratch & burn the room. LOL So if you ever come to my house, don't ask to see the kids rooms, I can't guarantee you'll come out alive! O.O}}
IDK why but for some reason he wasn't the least bit interested when I asked if I could hang this pic above our bed?!?! o.O
We won't even mention that I went into a couple of other cute K stores & bought more stuff & the Face Shop is going to break my bank account! It's KHJ's fault. He calls to me to shop there because his face is plastered on every available surface & the women who work there think I am hysterically funny!!
{{I am of course but looks aren't everything you know! Aish!}}
Unnie's WWU: How I wished KHJ could have sung Soft Kitty to me
I'm back!~~~ Betcha thought I'd never come back again, that I ditched my Dongsaeng & you guys too. How wrong you are. In fact, I stalked her a lot while I was sick. Facetime saved my sanity. Poor Dongsaeng had to listen & watch while I coughed & coughed & coughed.
When I get sick, I get SICK! What started off as a simple cold developed into full blown bronchitis, in just a couple of days. Recognizing bronchitis, as I have had it many times over the years, I immediately broke out my nebulizer & huge supply of Albuterol & started breathing treatments. 10 days later it was getting worse & then my right plugged up completely, bringing on a nasty case of Vertigo. So, I went to the doctor, got antibiotics & was told, keep up the breathing treatments, take it easy...rest & fluids. Then Wisconsin got hit with extreme sub zero temps (in other words Winter finally arrived) & my pathetic excuse for lungs decided to close up further & pushed the bronchitis deeper into my lungs. Yay.... :/ I was planning on giving my antibiotics a few more days to work but family & friends all said, "GO BACK TO THE DOCTOR!" And so I did. Where I was then put on super strong antibiotics, steroids, & they altered my typical Albuterol breathing treatments to Albuterol (w Ipratropium Bromide added in) as well as a super strong decongestant/antihistamines for my congestion. I was informed by the doctor had I waited, as I had originally intended, I would have been admitted to the hospital for pneumonia. So I guess it's a good thing I do know how to listen... once in a while.
I was then ordered not to go outside unless absolutely necessary. So CA grounded me to our room, which is upstairs & is the warmest room in our house...for over a week! And as the meds gave me severe shakes, made me nauseated & I had vertigo through most of it, typing was next to impossible. Let me tell you, you may think you would love for someone to send you to your room but trust me it is not all you think it is. Very....very boring! And lonely. :( The only time I saw my family was right after school each day & in the morning before they left, otherwise I was all by myself. BTW daytime TV is deplorable. I tried watching K dramas but the meds also made me super hyper so trying to get my brain to focus for more than a few minutes at a time was next to impossible. My drama watching was choppy & disjointed. I managed to keep up w FBND & started Level 7 Civil Servant. But both of those are light hearted & very fast paced so my brain, high on steroids & Albuterol, kept up nicely. ^^
But I finished off all my drugs last week & my breathing treatments have been dialed back to as needed which is now rare. I still have a stinky cough but its only bad first thing in the morning & if I've gone outside which I really haven't done a lot of yet. Taking kids to school, my son to his choral concert which was hosted at the high school, very big deal, & my first Sunday back at church in 3 weeks. We've gotten several inches of snow over the last week, in fact it's snowing as I type this (Monday morning) & more sub zero temps from H E Double Hockey Sticks. (psst that spells "Hell" in case you aren't familiar with that term. It's how I spelled it as a kid so that my mom wouldn't get mad at me for using a "Swear" gasp! And I still use it today...old habits etc...) But now that I am all better my plans are to get as many I Miss You Reviews up as is humanly possible because I know that drama is all done airing. So I have a lot of computer time over the next couple of weeks. :)
Now I am positive you guys are so fascinated by my long & boring tale of having been so sick. I actually thought up quite a few great ideas for a WWU while I was sick. I wrote them down & everything but when I went back & looked over my "Brilliant" ideas I realized I was way more drugged than I knew. Seriously such horrible ideas. So disappointing. I just threw them all away & decided to just do a catch up post instead.
So here is my take on the things I was able to watch & keep up with while coughing up my lungs & feeling like the floor was trying to greet me half way for 2 weeks.
Jaejoong's new MV for Mine is awesome. It has a total Evanescence feel to it & I love them. Very angsty, hard rock, dark, feel to it. I loved it. Favorite of the year so far... ;) And yes I realize that the year is all of a month + old. Still my favorite so far. I really appreciate the new sound & vibe to his voice & look. I loved the symbolism behind it all breaking free from the restraints & being himself & spreading his wings. Yes, I likey some Jaejoong. I was most excited to hear in his MTV-K interview that he & the guys want to do another album together hopefully this year & another world tour. PLEASE COME TO THE US!!!! Now we're just waiting for Mickey to get out his first solo album, yes? I know I am. Loves me the Mickey! And yes I like the Mouse too but this kind of "like" (read obsession) is reserved solely for the Yoochun version of Mickey. Otherwise it gets weird in so many ways. o.O
As for the other songs that have come out since I was sick... BAP I am not a fan of the MV for Rain Sound. I just prefer their hard core sound more than I do this soft/ballady sound they are currently experimenting with. Plus I was put off by the whole body blowing up thing. mostly because as their bodies were blowing up they just stood there as though they were not in fact being blown to pieces. Very disappointing for me. And the new song from GG I Got A Boy..m'eh. The MV is all over the place which actually fits the song as it too is all over the place. A big messy mix of sounds & I just didn't care for it. I am not a big fan of BOA either, I mean I don't hate her or anything she has a pretty voice & I love that her MVs are more than your usual SM fare, but still it was just m'eh for me too. However, I LOVED that Taemin was in her new MV. Hi Taemin! So cute! And he looked all grown up! Gone was the long hair or the longer curly hair. he was all clean cut & cute & manly. Very VERY nice. ^^
But I LOVED CNBlue's new sound & MV for their new album. We haven't shared that one yet so I am going to post that MV here... If you remember from the beginning posts on this here blog CNBlue was my gateway to KPop via the KDrama Heartstrings. So I have a very special place in my heart for this awesome group.
I loved the new look all the guys were sporting & since this MV Yong Hwa has come out as a blonde. It took me a while & I had to see it from different angles etc but I actually think he looks hot as a semi blonde. I mean let's face it, it's not like he went white blonde. It's more of a dirty blonde look. Which works for him. Of course, I still prefer his dark sexy good looks to this look but he's still definitely got it & then some. Thank you Yong Hwa.
And now for some sad news. Sigh. KBS has decided to nix the upcoming Kim Hyun Joong K drama City Conquest. I wanted to cry. This news came at a time when I was bored out of my mind in my room, sick, feeling homesick, & lonely in my quarantine which made me feel more than a little blue. But I wasn't allowed to cry... for real, another reason I stopped watching I Miss You. Watching a sad melodramatic K Drama when you aren't allowed to cry & release the tension, as it could push you over the edge of sickness, is torturous. Stuck all by myself in my room, sick, lonely, not allowed to cry & that's when they release the official word that the drama has been nixed?!?! WHAT?!?! I wanted to cry, scream, rant & rave. Now if I am completely honest I still have a small grain of hope within...how about a cable channel picks it up or if they can get KBS to change their mind? It could still happen, right? {{Here is where you lie to me & say, "Of course Unnie! It could most definitely still happen!" Like the good fellow AddiKts that you are!}} As I kept reading posts leaking rumors of what's really going on behind the scenes & following the he said/they said between the director/producers & the affiliates of KBS; I can't help but notice the similarities between this real life K Drama Drama & an actual K Drama. Did anybody else notice the King of Drama similarities?!?! Where is Anthony & his awesome fur collared jackets & deep sexy voice when he we need him?!?! Anthony, King of Dramas save us please?
But I do have Kim Hyun Joong's JPop Album Unlimited to keep me company. Sigh. Happy sappy feels folks. He just makes me so happy. I will say while sick, since K Dramas were not easy for my overstimulated brain to follow & daytime TV in the US is so icky, & reading when you have vertigo is not so good for the nausea the drugs give you, well let's just say I listened to a lot of Kpop/Jpop. I'd just turn on my iPod & turn it low & set it to all my favorite ballad/soft/romantic songs (heavy on the KHJ/SS501 btw) & let them soothe/serenade me back into another drug induced coma. I slept a lot. Like a lot a lot! I haven't slept that much since the last time I had pneumonia, about 2 years ago. And I watched it rain, sleet, snow, rain, sleet, snow etc... over & over from my bdrm window. The weather has been insane here. but I'm told it's like that all over the place. I think Mother Nature is Bi Polar. Someone get her some happy pills. Or maybe it's menopause & she's just in need of Hormones to take care of her hot flashes & chills?
Now let's talk K Dramas....
Like I said I was able to keep up with FBND & even though the writing is subpar & uneven I love this silly funny, weird, quirky show! Oh my how I heart Yoon Si Yoon's "Enrique"!! He is so good at switching between child like & man instantaneously! And OMO!! Kim Ji Hoon's "Oh Jae Won/Oh Jin Rak" is so incredibly tender & sweet & timid & handsome & romantic with his milk notes every morning. Sigh! And all the other eye candy is yummy too. Park Shin Hye is doing a fabulous job with the reclusive/hermit-like Go Dok Mi. However, "Muppet Hunter" is annoying & evil & most of the time I want to strangle her!! I can't help but hope they are going to redeem her, because Go Dok Mi & she were really such good friends once. I keep hoping she isn't evil to the core & can be redeemed. Maybe it's just wishful thinking. She cracks me up & irritates the crap out of me in one breath. Like Dongsaeng, I want to live in that neighborhood. Or better yet in the neighborhood where Big Bang & Infinite live in the same Apartment building. Did you catch that story?!? Thank you Allkpop for fast news! I want to live there! Do you think CA will go for it? Worth considering at least, right? Now my only real draw back to FBND is, as much as I like Park Shin Hye, she's a sweet girl & pretty & decent actress, BUT she has yet to break out of the good girl mode & go for a real kiss. You're Beautiful, Heartstrings & so far even in this one she is nothing more than a squish kisser. I've seen both YSY & KJH in other dramas give fabulously sexy deep kisses w real feels. If she doesn't take this opportunity w/ one of these sexy pieces of eye candy to break that good girl mold & do a real kiss I may give up on her ever stepping outside her carefully constructed box. You're 22 sweetie. It's time to walk away from the innocent, frigid, boring, squish kiss & go for a real kiss. Just sayin'.
And I managed to start Level 7 Civil Servant w Joo Won & Kang Choi Hee. I loved her in Protect the Boss & I adored him in Bridal Mask. Fantastic both of them. But again the writing is leaving me SMH. The spy stuff is beyond bad. And the character development is predictable & over done. They both have crappy parents. She is poor, he is rich. Her parents are trash & uneducated & his dad is/may be unethical. However, I do love their chemistry & I adore that he is being far more grown up than most K drama guys. He went through his TKJ phase very quickly & has already confessed he really likes her. Yay! I loved the Birthday serenade as they parachuted. So sweet. So even though parts of this drama have been sub par I am still wild about it...so far.
That pretty much covers my drama watching for the last 3 weeks. Told ya I just couldn't do it on drugs & sick. My precious K Dramas deserve all of my attention & focus. But I am now watching I Miss You, Level 7, FBND & am about to start Baker King Kim Tak Goo, as well as Alice in Cheongdamdong. Oh & I signed up for a profile on MyDramalist. JessUnnie, friend requests are now accepted. ;) And then you can see my list as it updates & we can discuss more K Dramas!! On a side note, CA texted me from work mockingly with, "OMG!!!!!! ...Guess what I just heard....Iris 2 starts later this month!!!!!!!" I texted him back that I knew that, he must have heard it from his co worker who happens to be Korean, & that I want to watch it but I still need to finish the first Iris. But I was waiting & hoping he'd watch it with me. To which he replied.... "So we'll be doing "Naked Iris" viewing??? As that is the only way he'll watch a K drama. Nice right? LOL Naughty CA.
That pretty much covers everything that I can remember. I have blank spots where my brain has still not caught up w me. But I am definitely on the mend AddiKts. Yay! HUGE SHOUT OUT TO DONGSAENG for doing all the work by herself over the last almost month. I felt like such a huge slacker! You rock socks Dongsaeng! Saranghae bb! Now, I have chores waiting for me as 3 weeks of mama being sick means my house needs a thorough going over & I have laundry all piled up waiting for me. Ahhhh the glam life indeed. I'm so sexy when I scrub toilets & separate underwear, right? Working on IMY I promise my reviews will start posting soon.
Hope you guys are having a great week.

These are my views from my bdrm window...

Told ya I was bored. Taking pictures was my highlight. LOL
