It's Okay, That's Love ep 1 & 2

Sorry sorry sorry I am so late...had a few things to get caught up on & appointments & fatigue from the KCON trip.  But I am finally sitting down to get this review/recap started.  Whew!  Kids go back to school in a little over a week & then I should be able to sit quietly for a few minutes & accomplish blogging.  I love my kids but...yeah I am ready for school to start back up.

So this drama, It's Okay, That's Love, (IOTL from here on out), does not follow the norm, at least these first couple of episodes didn't.  I really loved how Gong Hyo Jin's character, Ji Hae is so feisty.  It's nice to see her not playing a mouse.  To see her embrace a snotty, flawed character like a psychologist, with baggage of her own, is a refreshing change for me.  I love that she doesn't back down from the male lead & stands up & yells at him & takes him down a peg or two here & there.  I also love how this drama has a darker feel to it, okay not really darker as in scary but more grown up, more adult, more real life.  Of course I've only seen a couple of episodes so I can't say right now if it stays this way but I have really high hopes for this one.

It has taken me a while to start liking the male lead, Jo In Sung.  His character, Jang Jae Yeol starts off really unlikable, superior, pompous, picky, all typical K Drama devices for a male lead but I also like that he proves himself to be somewhat human by the end of the very first episode.  We didn't have to wait for them to start fleshing out his character for 5 episodes.  It's fairly fast paced & you begin to feel sorry for him, almost immediately after you start to dislike him.

As for the rest of the cast, they are all awesome!  One of my favorite character actors is in this drama, Sung Dong Il, who plays Ji Hae's senior colleague.  I love that each character has psychological issues; whether it's issues from their childhood, or marriage or family or Tourettes.  Watching Lee Kwang Soo battle sneezing & screaming obscenities is fascinating & gripping.  I cannot wait to dive in further to this drama & watch everything & everyone unfold.

This post is short as you may have noticed, I am way behind on watching time, since the series is already up 10 episodes & I have only watched a couple weeks ago.

I'll go into deeper character observations & pictures in my next review I promise, so I hope you come back & I can't wait to hear what you guys have to say.  Who is your favorite character by ep 10?  Which storyline(s) has you gripping your seat or sobbing or laughing or loving?

Watching how Ji Hae feels for her mom vs her dad & how she is viewing her childhood was eye opening.  I can't wait to hear from her mom's point of view of what happened or is happening.  They did, at least in ep 2 a fabulous job portraying her familial relationship & showing how it has affected her emotional issues as a grown up.  I hated her two timing boyfriend & the skeezy little girl who claims he belongs to her.  In my opinion they can have each other.  I cried with Ji Hae in the stairwell, the humiliation, the broken heart...ugh!

And oh the feels when Jae Yeol, carried her out of the construction site, even though he was injured too!!  It was that moment I fell for him & it was the moment she was so nonchalant about paying him back that I rooted for her feistiness to last the whole drama.  It's seriously so good seeing a female lead that isn't poor or ugly, or made to look ugly, who is suffering from her poor childhood or having to be the family bread winner & suffering being rescued by the male lead.  I was so getting sick of that storyline.  She's a doctor, she's pretty, she's smart, strong, capable, funny, demanding, everything the guys usually get to be.  Again, only on ep 2 so far. LOL  Well, I want to get back into this drama...see ya later.  I'll be trying to post as often as I can to see if I can catch up.  Not holding my breath for that though.

The Master's Sun Final Review

Hey guys so my family, for now, seems to be surviving well enough for me to get back into the swing of things.  For the first time in months, a drama actually caught me, & kept me, for more than one episode.  But I'll get back to that later.  I want to say thank you so much to all of you who have emailed, tweeted, and facebooked me over the last few months, with words of encouragement & support, it meant the world to me, to know I hadn't been forgotten by my favorite peeps.

Overview: 
On with the review, I'm going to wrap up the last three episodes in this one review. I really enjoyed how they wrapped up this drama, granted it was a little predictable and they used one of my least favorite, but overused ploys, the whole going away for a year & then coming back but I loved the faces that Joo Joong Won made when he was pretending that he was in so much pain and that he was gonna let her walk away from him when really he wasn't.  I enjoyed how each character was paired off for a happily ever end.  Call me a romantic or a goofball for liking a clean cut happy ending if you want.  It doesn't bother me.  Life is so full of complicated, messy endings, that most of the time don't actually feel ended that when I'm watching a show I want what I can't really get in real life.  Real life is overrated.

Cha Hee Joo: (The Real Cha Hee Joo)
At the end of 15 all is revealed, all that was pretty much visible throughout the drama, at least to me.  She is the REAL Cha Hee Joo.  She was the one who was in the orphanage, when her sister came to see her for the first time, we see that Han Na was actually the nice twin, probably because she was raised with adoptive parents in a nice, read: rich, environment.  The whole nature vs nurture issue comes up here.  That CHJ had a thing for JJW, but was too scared to approach him, so her sweet twin sister did it, while pretending to be her.  Eventually CHJ was going to tell JJW the whole truth of their deception, once she started having feelings for him.  But then CHJ stepped in & there was the kidnapping, the jewelry heist, the murder of her own sister & then taking her sister's place as Han Na.  She gets caught, admits to her dirty deeds, 2 day before the statute of limitations expires, how convenient, and is hauled off to jail.

Tae Gong Sil's Eonnie and Cheap Mouth:
Weirdest pairing I've seen in a while.  They start off as acquaintances & out of nowehere they're flirting & hanging out, he's no longer using her to get the dirty deets to take back to Uncle.  And even though she finds out he's the one with cheap mouth selling secrets of her own sister, she continues dating him.  But he was funny & cute & he was willing to do all those shots for her so even I forgave him.  Besides she has enough sass & feistiness in her to make him pay but in a totally loving & funny way.  So in the end it worked.

Aunt & Uncle:
Aunt becomes pregnant!  And we find out that she has never been able to carry a baby to term.  Which has made her sad & bitter & probably caused failed relationships in the past which explains her need to control everything & why she is very guarded.  I ended up really liking Aunt.  But it took TGS to point out that while it is scary to trust & rely on others that it is also good for you, even if you get hurt.  I loved how happy Uncle was & how he was prepared to raise the baby after Aunt gives birth, because 50 is too old to take care of baby, in Aunt's mind.  I think these 2 just might make it.  He's the perfect Yin to her Yang.  And he cracks me up every time he cheers, "TGS, Fighting!", under his breath.

Kang Candy & Tae Yi Ryeong (or Black Whale):
She gets him drunk!  Kang Candy drunk is adorably honest.  And I love that she spiked his drink.  Way to go girl!  Again this is the kind of stuff that is just creepy & wrong in the real world but is awesome in KDramas.  While intoxicated he admits he thinks she's quite beautiful.  And you can see how happy it makes her to hear this.  In fact she likes it so much that she agrees to help Kang Candy & JJW stop TGS from leaving the country.  In the most awesome ways ever!  Loved the 'OMGosh I think I am dying' on the plane, acting & the way she was grabbing on TGS & dragging her with her out of the airport to the hospital every step of the way.  Pretty strong for someone who is abject pain.  And afterwards, Kang Candy rewards her by basically agreeing to be hers.  Totally adorable couple!  I loved them together so much!  Very reminiscent of Ice Cream Girl & Cha Moo Won, from Protect the Boss.

This leaves us with...

Joo Joong Won & his Billion Won Radar, Tae Gong Sil:
So many happy feels.  I loved that even though he didn't want her to leave him, he told her "Get Lost" in that fantastic way.  I was glad that she didn't come back from her search for answers, all healed & unable to see ghosts anymore.  Her explanation that while she was in a coma & traveling with the photographer who can see ghosts as well, she was touched by the spirits & promised to help them & that is why she is such a shining light to them, because of her promise to help when she got back in her body.  It was very sweet.  After the tried & overly used plot device of separating for a over a year they run into each other again & she fakes that she is cured so that he doesn't feel sorry for her, because she wants him back.  But she wants him back on her terms, not because he thinks she needs him to protect him from the scary ghosts.  She's even earned some major bank while she was gone so that she can buy her apartment building, which he told her early on if she bought that building he'd take her then.  I'm paraphrasing of course but you get the general idea, right?  Anyway, he finds out when he gets her drunk & has to keep a plethora of ghosts from taking control of her.  Again I loved watching Gong Hyo Jin play so many different characters in her one body.  She is one of my favorite actresses.  Eventually it all works out, she buys the building, he finally gets the girl & she accepts herself & her abilities.

Weekly Ghosts We Grew To Love:
They even managed to wrap up the ghosts...Trashcan ghost was at the trashcan because he lost a big time lottery winning ticket & let his family down but JJW fixed that by helping Trashcan ghost's daughter have the wedding of her dreams.  Then there was Woo Jin.  Who's mom, is so distraught with grief for her son that she almost commits suicide, but TGS rescued her in time.  We even found out that the coffee ghost kid, that I loved the best, is actually just like TGS.  He's still awake & avoiding the pressure of college & exams & life by staying in a coma, like TGS did & following photographer guy.  Sigh, it felt good to get those answers.

So all in all it was a fun, different kind of rom/com Kdrama.  I enjoyed the actors & actresses & the characters & most of the writing, plot devices & all.  And I have another K Crush in So Ji Sub, who is my age...feels good to crush on age appropriate men.  ^^


And that about covers it for me folks.  I am moving on to review It's Okay, That's Love, again starring Gong Hyo Jin.  It's been a seriously long time since a drama has caught my interest for more than an episode or 2 & I really like the more grown up, serious feel to her new drama.  I also like the fact that she isn't some poor pushover or in need of protection heroine.  In this one she is sassy, big mouthed, intelligent, and successful.  It's a nice change.  But I probably won't get any of the reviews out until I get back from KCON next week.  My eldest son & I are flying out tomorrow.  I hope to meet a lot of fellow addiKts & squee & have a total blast with all of you.  This is an amazing once in a lifetime opportunity & there was no way I was going to pass up this experience.  Thanks everyon e for the love & support & the cheering section for me & especially for the Crazy Ahjummas.  We love you guys!

This weekend is the BAP concert in Indiana. But not alone...

 that's how excited we are to see each other.

Oh that's right, Uri Dongsaeng is going with me, along with another one of our friends.  That's right Unnie & Dongsaeng will be together this weekend and seeing BAP live in concert!!!!

How awesome is that?!?!  Probably not as big of a deal to you guys as it is to us.  What have I been doing in preparation for her most daebak arrival?  Getting more & more excited!  Tomorrow morning I will head to the Metra station in Illinois to pick her up & then Saturday she & our friend will be leaving kids here w CA, & heading into K Town in Chicago & then down to Merrillville, IN for the concert!  Beyond excited!!  I SO NEED THIS ONE DAY VACATION, KRAZY AHJUMMAS ONLY!!!

Unless you know BAP wants to hang with us too, that would be allowed.  Yup totally doable...uhhh that sounded better in my head.  Sorry.  I meant we would be completely okay with the idea of hanging with the guys.

Breaking Blog Silence

You were probably all hoping I had quit as a Crazy Ahjumma.  Well, sorry to burst your bubbles guys but I am back.  After 6 months of serious health scares for my son, surgery, more health scares, hospital stays, a trillion & one visits to a plethora of doctors, mostly specialists, lots of medicines, extreme stress & fatigue for all in our home, I am happy to report he is doing better.  He has a long way to go but he is no longer starving to death, that G Tube made a huge world of difference for his little body.  He gained over 10 lbs in the 2 months since his surgery & is doing beautifully.  He still has immunity issues but we'll get there.  I don't want to jinx anything by saying he's out of the woods but he is heading in the right direction for a change & for the first time in months I feel like it's okay to take deep breaths again.  Thank you to all who offered encouragement, support, prayers, love & laughter.  Anytime you want to know more about Liam's journey head on over to our family blog here.



Next THANK YOU so very very very much to K Muse & to Dongsaeng for putting up with this very silent & completely unhelpful Unnie over the last 6 months.  If not for you guys, this labor of love of ours would have died a fast death.  You kept us going & even helped us thrive beyond our dreams.  Which is probably a reflection on how much I am not needed but I don't care you have to keep putting up with me.  I may disappear every once in a while but you people are stuck w me!

It would seem that uri dongsaeng let the cat out of the bag already, for the first time in months, this weekend I sat down & watched K Dramas.  6 hours worth of K Dramas nonetheless!  It was like manna from heaven for my weary soul.  I wanted to watch them over the last few months but A) have been way too busy taking care of my son & the rest of my motley crew and B) couldn't handle the extreme drama, when I had actual real life drama pulling me under.  It was too much emotionally for this mommy to handle all at once.  So I had to take a real break from all things KDrama.  I still had my tunes though.  Thank goodness for KPop!!

When last we spoke, I was supposed to be doing reviews, per episode, of The Master's Sun, but then things got bad around my neck of the woods & I had to stop what I was doing & go into offensive mode for my son's health.  Well on Saturday night I finished off TMS' last 3 eps.  Sigh....where to begin.  First, I am not going to do a detailed review/recap. It's been too long for one of those.

Cliffs Notes version:
He gets his memories back, he pays off her contract w Madame Go, he is still in love with her, she is still in love with him,  BUT she is afraid of herself & of the life she leads & that it could put him in danger, so she tries to leave.  First she helps him solve the whole Hee Joo vs Ha Na fiasco.  Yay.  I thoroughly enjoyed Little Sun's over the top stomachache/appendicitis on the plane.  Seriously so funny!  Then she finds the guy that her spirit hung out with for 3 years while she was comatose and it's him she is leaving with.  She comes back, that age old K Drama plot of a year later (or 2 or 3 or 5 whatever) & they have the happily ever after reunion, after she proves she is good enough for him?  What?!?  I get she has pride & all & I can't completely blame her but really, it irked me.  Just another device to keep them apart until the last minute. Ugh.

Okay personally, I thought ep 16 was boring.  It dragged on & on.  It had it's cute moments of course.  But blah blah blah, it was quite obvious they were just stalling for time.  By episode 17 they picked things back up, about 1/2 way through 17, but eventually.  It had a happy, cute, everything tied up in a neat little bow ending, but it left me underwhelmed all in all, after such great episodes all the way through. I think they should have simply ended it in 16, not pushed for that extra episode, just for ratings.  And yes they kissed & yes it was okay, but once again, underwhelming.  After everything this couple went through & the amazing chemistry they had together, there really should have been a little more umph in that last kiss.

Best part of the ending for me was that his aunt got to be pregnant.  I thought that was incredibly weird but very sweet.  Maybe she'll grow a heart after all.  And how cute were Kang Woo & Little Sun at the end walking the red carpet.  All in all I'll give TMS a standard 8.5.  It had the potential for a 10 but the last 2 eps were hum drum & did not live up to the rest of it.  BUT at least the Hong Sisters didn't pull another Big.  I'd have had to crack some heads otherwise.

And yes, I have finally started watching my Hyun-y, KHJ's new drama Inspiring Generation.  I have only made it through ep 3, so I am looking forward to seeing my man in ep 4 but I have to say the kid they picked to play him young, is awesome.  Major acting chops.  They did a phenomenal job casting him as a young Shin Jung Tae.  I can't wait to dive back in after I get some chores done.  I spent this weekend sick, again & am still recovering bronchitis.  Yes again.  I swear 5 times in less than 2 years on major antibiotics, breathing treatments, codeine cough syrup & steroids I am beginning to think WI is trying to kill me.  O.O

Before I sign off I have one awesome announcement, next month I will be in Merrillville, Indiana to watch BAP LIVE in concert.  And who bought me these tickets?  Well my Captain Awesome, no less.  How great is my guy?!?!?  I didn't even know they were coming here.  I have been so focused on my kids that I hadn't even paid any attention to anything.  So I will be heading out April 19th for a girls weekend w one of my favorite people.  Yay us!  I so totally need this break.  It has been an insane 6 months!!!!!

I have missed all of my fellow addiKts so much & have thought about you daily.  I cannot promise that I will start doing episode by episode recaps again, I simply don't have the time or energy but I will continue to post & talk to you again weekly.  I promise.  And trust me I will talk about KHJ's drama every opportunity I get.  So look for me on Twitter, FB & here.  Sending all my love out into the Blogosphere.

Guess what I am alive!!  But just for today & this post, because this isn't just any old post, it's once again time to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year again.  The day that bestest bestie in the entire world was born.  I celebrate this day wholeheartedly & enthusiastically!!

{{Secret Admitting Time: I never know how to wish her a happy birthday as her birthday also coincides with Halloween...big time holiday for me.  My favorite holiday, next to St Pat's Day & Christmas.  I want to wish her a Happy Halloween but I don't want her to think I forgot it's her birthday either so I also want to wish her a Happy Birthday as well.  So I think I have come up with a solution.  Won't know though till I type it out if it's a good idea or just lame.  Wish me luck!!}}

Just 25 years ago today, a gorgeous baby red head was delivered to earth.  Someday, in her distant future she would meet a crazy woman, who is loud, sassy, snotty, sarcastic, exuberant, facing challenges galore & the two would be come the very bestest of best friends BECAUSE they are the perfect foil for each other. 

 One is quiet the other ... not.  

One is tall the other.... not.

One is thin the other... not.

One is shy the other ... not.

Both love sarcasm, irony & mocking well everything they can.  

Both love their families, even though sometimes the families are what drives them cray cray.

Both have the same faith.

Both LOVE to Laugh & therefore have very similar senses of humor.  

I am sincerely hoping by now you have all figured out that I am talking about myself & my dongsaeng Shannen.

Blogger, being the ever dependable machine that it is known to be, won't let me comment, but lucky for me, I have admin rights and can just add on to your post here ;) Thank you so much for such a wonderful and sweet birthday message.  I honestly don't know how I missed it before, but I'm just now reading it for the first time and am a mix of emotions as you can well imagine.  Touched.  Embarrassed.  Amused.  Jae fangirling.  All the typical "me" kind of responses.  I don't know why you think so highly of me, but I'm glad you do and everything you said I say right back to you.  Love you Unnie!  Thanks for always being there.  If not for you I don't know where I'd be right now.  Oh, and of course, thank you for only making me 25.  I mean, wow, you totally got my age right even!  Love you bunches and gobs, gutz and all!

The Master's Sun ep 14 Review/Recap

I am happy to report I am almost completely better, hoping I didn't just jinx myself, not that I am at all superstitious, she said as she knocked on wood three times & made sure to go around the ladder, rather than under it.  Phew!  That was close.  And how awesome was it to finally see my beloved Master's Sun?!?!  Sigh, happy feels!  Of course, this one also had sad feels too but mostly I was happy. 

When last we left our awesome leading couple, with the fabulous chemistry & awesome acting abilities, Joo Joong Won was paying Tae Gong Sil a visit at her home to find out just who the heck she is or was, to him.  Oh poor Tae Gong Sil, I felt so bad for her this whole episode having to pretend that she was glad to walk away from him.  Especially when he just kept seeking her out & grabbing her wrist & forcing her to face him & then staring deeply into her eyes.....sigh......  


I lost my train of thought.  Darn you Joo Joong Won/So Ji Sub!!

I guess I need to reboot my brain.  I know just the face uh...way to help...

So here's what happened...

He couldn't get past the fact that his life has changed so very much, and what's more, he actually likes the changes, what is up with that?!?!  He can't figure it out, he is desperate to remember what he can't remember, it's seriously nagging him.  Not that I blame him, it would drive me crazy.  He also can't understand why he was so tied up with Tae Gong Sil, who is an average woman, nothing remarkable about her.  How could he make her his "Candy".  And if that was the case shouldn't he be the one to dump her not the other way around? 

Uncle Rocks Socks:
His Uncle, oh how I LOVE his Uncle.  I loved that Uncle goes against Aunt's wishes & starts filling in the blank spots for Joo Joong Won.  My favorite part was his version of how the meeting went between Aunt & Tae Gong Sil, when Joo Joong Won announced his engagement.  In his version Tae Gong Sil was very straightforward & unafraid of Aunt & threatened to break the vase & refused to leave Joo Joong Won alone.  It was so awesome!  It is so obvious that Uncle distrusts Hanna & LOVES Tae Gong Sil, which makes me love him so much more. 

Fulfilling her part of the contract:
But this story did have it's share of darkness added in the mix.  Remember in order to save Joo Joong Won's soul, Tae Gong Sil gave herself completely to Madame Go as a go between for her ghostly matchmaking.  And while Tae Gong Sil may have forgotten that part Madame Go has not & she reminds Tae Gong Sil of this when she comes to collect the promise.  Tae Gong Sil is now her finder of single female ghosts.  First thing Tae Gong Sil needs to do, is give up her dream of finishing school, or of having any kind of normal life now.  I really don't like her but she really has the most awesome facial expressions.  {{She does creepy so well.  I want to meet her IRL to see if she is anything like her character.}}   Night after night Tae Gong Sil goes out to the cemeteries to hunt up single female ghosts for marriage. 

Then the next day is spotted by Tae Yi Ryeong & her manager(?) as they are discussing the US movie that has just been offered to TYR.  She found a female ghost & she is meeting with the family & the ghosts & Madame Go to seal the deal.  Then TYR forgets about TGS & heads over to Kang Candy to tell him, I think to try & impress him, with the news of the US movie.  His response was classic, but I happened to see your movie on TV & you weren't a very good actress.  Poor Yi Ryeong.  I hope he starts liking her back soon.  She tries to get him to be her bodyguard but he, of course is not interested, besides he's already busy protecting TGS.  Before he leaves he tells her to practice her acting more & become an international star.  Eventually she lets him know that TGS is meeting w a wealthy family & w Madame Go.  Which makes him wonder if she is now working for Madame Go? 

That night as he is coming home, he runs into TGS, as she is about to leave for yet another cemetery.  We find out later that he followed her there, in case she needed help but not once did she cry out for his help.  While I thought it was sweet that he wants to protect her & help her, when he said, "Call out my name if you're scared" and is then disappointed that she didn't, I couldn't help but think, she isn't going to call out for you, she thinks you're back at home.  What good would calling for someone that isn't there going to do her?  There's a flaw in your logic honey.  Next time tell her you are there, so she will call out your name, as you so badly want her to. 

Every time Joo Joong Won thinks he's got Tae Gong Sil out of his mind, he gets slapped in the face, metaphorically, with another reminder of her.  Secretary Kim is gone & his Uncle's secretary, who is probably doing double duty, doesn't have the right notes for an important meeting, so he grabs his recorder to see if Secretary Kim had a chance to record the notes before he left.  As he is listening to the recording all of a sudden Secretary Kim's voice is replaced by Tae Gong Sil's, he goes to meet his Aunt for lunch, she just can't stop trying to get him to start dating Hanna, & runs into Tae Gong Sil.  Who happens to be with another of Madame Go's clients.  This time it's a man that is getting married.  His old fiancé passed away & her ghost stays next to him, TGS's job is to try & get her to move on.  The whole situation gets out of hand when a huge misunderstanding occurs.  The man thinks Joo Joong Won, is a former client with the same problem he is having, so he asks JJW how long it took him to get her off of him, to stop sticking to him.  This is all the same terminology that he & TGS have been using to describe their relationship but the man is talking about his dead fiancé.  And when JJW says he almost died, by being stabbed in the back literally w a huge screw driver the guy freaks out. Poor guy, I'd have run too.  Giggle

As JJW's Aunt & Hanna enter the restaurant, Aunt spots TGS & Madame Go, & stops Madame Go as she is leaving.  Aunt now knows the truth about TGS's ability to see ghosts & why she hung around JJW.  So she hires Madame Go's services, which include TGS.  JJW meets up with Aunt & Hanna & in comes Madame Go & TGS.  Aunt wants to know if TGS can really see ghosts & if so can she see one attached to JJW?  She confirms she can & is right now & then calls out Cha Hee Joo & tells her to stop appearing in front of her or else tell who it is that is responsible for her death.  JJW having had enough, wrist grabs her & drags her away.  It is at this point that Madame Go can see why he was so special to TGS.  Well she doesn't actually "SEE" it per se.  Cos she can't see ghosts, but she is psychic, so she must have felt the psychic vibrations change, when he touched her. 

Filling in the blanks:
TGS fills JJW in on her real role at Kingdom, for him.  She wasn't his Candy but his "10 billion won radar" to find ghosts.  And that it's because of her ability, he got hurt & she felt bad, so that's why she quit.  She also tells him, again, she doesn't want to see him anymore.  She must have repeated this phrase a million times this episode but uri Joo Joong Won is stubborn.  Later & in her bedroom, Hanna faces the mirror & seemingly looks at Cha Hee Joo's ghost, smiling she asks, "Are you by my side?  If you're standing next to me, I'll apologize.  Sorry Eonnie."  And then creeptastically smiles a little bigger.  She really is good at bad girl. 

Now it's Kang Candy's job to fill Joo Joong Won in a little more on why Tae Gong Sil was so entwined in his life.  He shows him the pics, tells him about the twin & explains that TGS was trying to help him find the 10 billion won necklace.  Enter the bad guy who stabbed JJW.  Tae Gong Sil's words that the child's ghost was staring at him.  He's come to Kingdom in search of her, heads to her office, has a fight with Kang Candy & is captured & given over to the police, begging to talk to Tae Gong Sil.  But before he goes he reveals to JJW that he never meant to stab him, he was trying to stab the girl but JJW rushed in front of the screw driver & protected TGS with his life.  Which Kang Candy confirms, yes this is how it happened.  He knows she is suffering but he can't remember why it's important to him, that she not suffer, & he can't figure out why he feels so bitter all the time.

And we finally find out a small portion of the accident that Tae Gong Sil was in so many years ago.  She was in the mountains, got lost & wandered, alone, for 10 days.  Once she was found, even though she was okay she slipped into a coma for 3 years.  Then we see a guy come in to the coffee shop, he sits down with 2 cups of coffee.  One for himself & one for the ghost that always likes getting free coffee off of TGS.  There is a very mysterious conversation between the 2.  Obviously this guy sees ghosts too.  Or at least he sees the coffee lover ghost.  Who it seems hasn't been haunting TGS but supposedly been keeping an eye out for her, watching over her.  The living guy wonders if it's time to go & talk with her & if she'll recognize him? Very interesting!  I can't wait to see more! 

Once again Uncle shows his support for TGS.  During dinner at  JJW's house w Aunt & Hanna, after Aunt sets up Hanna as JJW's date for a big anniversary party for Kingdom, Uncle sneaks over & whispering tells JJW, with backward glances at the women, that Tae Gong Sil came to the hospital every day he was there, that she cried a lot.  And JJW is starting to connect the dots.  He asks Uncle my heart stopped right?  Uncle says, basically you died & then came back to life.  He remembers that TGS can see ghosts & that he died & he starts to figure out she must have seen his ghost.  Then Uncle says, "Of course to live normally well, that woman's (Hanna's) level would be the right choice, but whom you threw your life away for was Tae Gong Sil who lives in the study motel & sees ghosts."  This leads to him pretending to be Secretary Kim & texting TGS that he needs to see her at the office.  She confirms she saw him, but refuses to tell that he told her he loved her just before his ghost disappeared.  She then tells him, he won't get his memory back, it's been sealed.  He finally says I won't look for you & she agrees that she doesn't want to see him, but as she is walking away he whispers, look back at me & I will try one more time to hold on to you.  But she doesn't stop. 

Hanna Brown:
While doing a background check on Hanna Brown, Kang Candy comes across her writing & recognizes it.  He pulls up a picture of his computer of the back of the postcard that has a picture of Cha Hee Joo, a year after her death (her obvious twin) & compares the 2 writing samples.  They are a perfect match but the faces don't match.  This, we know is because Hanna had plastic surgery, or so her friend tells Secretary Kim, who is now back & confirms with Kang Candy that Hanna is the long lost twin of Cha Hee Joo & that both girls are his nieces.  And that is why he stayed so close to JJW all these years. 

I can't handle the feels:
As JJW & Hanna enter the mall for the party, they run into TGS & Madame Go, who have finally convinced the dead fiancé to move on.  There is awkward staring & so many painful feels as eventually TGS turns away & JJW heads up to the party & she turns back to watch him go off with another woman.  Uncle once again is my hero.  At the party, he goes up to JJW & tells him that he heard TGS she has entered into some weird contract w Madame Go for the rest of her life.  So he confronts Madame Go & tries to buy TGS out of the contract & wants to know what it's for etc...  Madame Go says nothing, except that he can get his memories back if he really wants to, he just has to remember what disappeared.  Referring to the necklace that TGS wears around her neck, it holds his memories.  When he gets mad & asks how much is the contract worth Madame Go tells him, Tae Gong Sil gave all of herself. Why don't you calculate how much that would cost, and settle on that." 

Back at the party he gets dizzy & he just can't stop thinking about Tae Gong Sil.  When his Aunt & Hanna come over to see if he is sick, he says he is sick, he didn't realize till now how sick but yes he is sick.  Then he sees the same necklace around Hanna's neck & he remembers being in the spirit world & watching the necklace disappear.  He tells Hanna I keep looking at it because it's just like the other one, but it isn't the genuine one.  Burn!!!  That can be taken in so many ways!  Necklace is not the same, Hanna isn't as good as Tae Gong Sil.  Hanna also wasn't as good as Cha Hee Joo.  Deep stuff that! 

He rushes off to meet with TGS, who is meeting with Cha Hee Joo's ghost begging her to stop coming, that she won't lend her body to her, because she needs to live too & she will forget about him, she is done with all of it, & to prove this she takes off the necklace & is about to throw it & pauses & then finally firming her resolves she reaches back to throw it, for real this time, when JJW intercepts her arm & stops her from throwing it, saying to her, "You can do without your safety shelter?"  That's right!  He has his memories back!  Woot Woot!!!   She lies to him that she felt comfortable without him in her life too but he calls her on it & says, "You can never feel like you can live without me.  Without me, you have to feel like you are dying."

And wow I am an emotional wreck after this episode.  Roller coaster of emotions!!  I told you he'd get his memories back in the next couple of eps & I was right.  It's so satisfying to be right.  :)  I can't wait to see episode 15 tonight.  See you tomorrow guise.

The Master's Sun episode 13 Review/Recap

Today's review is brought to you by the makers of Simply Orange, Puff's Plus & Vapo Rub.  Singing "Soft Kitty" to yourself is a completely optional & personal choice.  Yes, I am battling a nasty little head cold & am on Sudafed.  So, if this review makes no sense, you have been warned.  But something has to get this gunk out of my head so I can breath through my nose & hear again. 

Today we are here to answer the questions that have been plaguing us all for 8 days.  EIGHT DAYS!!!  BTW, we here at TCA, hope all of our SK friends, had a lovely Chuseok holiday.  Dongsaeng gave it the old college try at making Songpyeon for her son's Tae Kwon Do Master, he's from South Korea.  It was a lot of work, I'm dying to know how it turned out.  Maybe she'll tell us on Monday or in one of her Good Doctor recaps.  Fingers crossed.  Dongsaeng, Fighting!  I got distracted again didn't I?  Darn Sudafed.  I promise I will try to stay on topic, even though I'd much rather be falling asleep to the sound of my TV, all snuggled up with my pillow, in my big soft squishy bed...sigh that really sounds nice doesn't it?  It honestly took me a minute to remember what I was supposed to be doing just now. Probably not a good sign. 

Okay seriously I am going to focus.  Review.  Ep 13 of The Master's Sun.  Starts now. 

*Cracks neck & fingers & puts writers face on* {{No idea what a writer's face looks like except my regular face but you know, whatever... }}

If you remember at the end of 12 we all gasped & screamed & freaked out & panicked & cried & had hysterics, when Joo Joong Won's ghost appeared & told Tae Gong Sil that he loved her.    Then I reminded us that we still had several eps to go & to not panic quite yet, that this opened the story to several awesome possibilities.  Well I was right, sort of...  I have to admit I was saddened to see the return of one of my least favorite K Drama devices.  Amnesia.  Sigh.  Yes, the Hong sisters took all those endless possibilities & chose amnesia.  Now I have a confession, I had spoiler knowledge prior to watching the episode, from a friend, that they were going to use this device.  She watched the LIVE RECAP via Soompi & I IM'd her & asked for spoilage, just that one tidbit though.  So I kind of went in to this episode both prepared for the amnesia & at the same time with a chip on my shoulder because of the amnesia. 

BUT I am happy to report that while I was very cynical about this overused plot device I am happy to say it actually was used cleverly.  It wasn't your typical Kdrama Amnesia case.  With that said, let's move on.  So I was right about the "out of body" theory I had last week as well, that part made me happy.  Just before surgery began JJW's heart stopped & his soul left his body & saw TGS & he figured he was dead, because she shined so brightly, so he bid her goodbye confessing his love for her.  But in reality the doctors managed to get his heart going again & continued with the surgery. 

Meanwhile in the hallway, the Doctor gave the news he was alive & being operated on & TGS was shocked he didn't die, which she said to herself, out loud, royally pissing off his Aunt in the process, who then smacked TGS for even thinking it & threatened TGS to stay the hell away from her nephew.  Uncle looked perfectly shocked & then appropriately saddened but obeyed his wife, & I was so proud of his reaction.  TGS met up with Kang Candy & she remembered there was one person who could help her.  The creepy matchmaker to the dead lady from episode 5  And she runs off to meet with her.  Creepy matchmaker lady informs her, he probably will not recover, because he saw her, he is under the mistaken belief that he is 100% dead, rather than just having an out of body experience.  But yes she can call his spirit back to his body, but it comes at a price.  First TGS will now work for her, whatever that lady wants TGS will have to help her with it, meaning speak to her dead clients, since that is not her gift. And then 2nd & probably the most painful of all, the process of returning JJW to his body will erase all of his memories since meeting TGS.  All of it & her will be gone from his mind.  So he has amnesia but only because of the power used to save his life...I imagine he'll come around in the next episode or so.

Sure enough when he wakes up, he has no memory of TGS, much to every one's confusion & his Aunt's delight, who then warns everyone not to even mention TGS, even a little bit, in front of JJW.  But the first person he sees when he comes to, is not his Aunt or Uncle or even Secretary Kim.  It's Ha Na's face, evil twin sister to Hee Joo.  Who sat over him, creepily, talking to him about how she's waited 15 years for the statute of limitations to end so he has to wake up.  She really is good at creepy.  Which is so weird because she was so nice as the veterinarian in City Hunter.  Secretary Kim goes to TGS, to tell her JJW has awoken but he has no memory of her, & begs her to go & see him but she informs him that she won't, she also won't be in his life anymore, that it's too dangerous for him.  And it was selfish of her to want to keep him with her all the time.  But even as Joo Joong Won is realizing he can remember nothing of the last couple of months, there is something tickling at the back of his mind.  So the memories are still there, they are suppressed by the spell to bring him back.  I can't wait to see how they undo the amnesia. 

There is no secondary ghost story in this week's lone episode.  Will they go back to that formula? I have no idea.  So I am simply going to boil down the main plot lines from here on out. 

Joo Joong Won:
Discovers he can read again.  He doesn't know how, but he can.  Every time he sees or runs into TGS he feels drawn to her & he seems utterly confused by her presence.  But, he is also, back to being his old selfish self, the guy he was before TGS entered his life, I loved his reaction when Secretary Kim brought in the flowers from Giant Mall's CEO.  Who is now apparently good friends with JJW, they even played golf last week.  Then he finds out he was going to have a child abuse center built & he was rescuing military personnel, putting his own life on the line to do so & the police want to give him a medal!  He really has no idea what the heck he has been up to!  Which made the appearance of the little boys he bribed with toys if they read the text on TGS's phone super funny.  They arrived at Kingdom to claim the toys he promised them, w his business cards, & he was sure he was being swindled.  But they knew too much & the eldest told him of the "noona" who said he was a "Special Person".  It was her name Tae Gong Sil, it sounded right & then they called her Tae Yang & this gave him the impetus, towards the end of the episode, to satisfy his curiosity by sending himself to the apartment building to seek out TGS. 

Tae Gong Sil:
Spent this episode in pain.  So much sadness, it was a good thing I am sick, it kept me from crying, that fear of making my cold so much worse.  However, it was also painful to watch & yet not be able to ease the pain, I felt rolling off of her, w a good cry.  She quits her job, packs up her stuff, is protected by Kang Candy, gives Cutie McLittlesecurityguy her resume, on the premise he is going to help her apply for a new job, but when he notices that the details of her accident are missing she decides it isn't worth going over it all & takes back her resume.  He's still trying to figure it out.  And yes, I am falling victim to the writer's teasing of this story line I am dying to know what really happened to her.  She unfortunately tips her hat to the evil twin too.  At the coffee shop after taking back her resume, she runs into Ha Na, as she turns to walk away she jumps & blurts out Cha Hee Joo, when she sees Hee Joo's ghost.  This has Ha Na digging into her a little more.  TGS goes to Kang Candy & he explains that they know that Hee Joo was the culprit & that she wasn't working alone.  She informs him she wants to still help solve this case for him, JJW.  But Kang Candy reminds her she can't tell him anything because he has no memory of her or of her ability to see ghosts, so he wouldn't believe her. 

Secretary Kim:
I am relieved to find out that Secretary Kim is not the bad guy.  He had no prior knowledge that Hee Joo was behind the kidnapping.  BUT he did know she had a twin sister.  In fact, the girls are related to him.  I was a little confused because they called him samcheon, which is uncle, but he said later that they were his cousins kids.  I assume this means they just called him Uncle but he was actually their 2nd cousin.  I admit I am still a little confused by his full story, but that's because they are only telling it in little chopped up bits here & there.  It will all be revealed by the end, I hope.  Eventually, he goes to JJW & asks for time off, he has a niece he needs to go in search of & JJW makes him promise that he will come back, because even though he can read on his own now, he still needs Secretary Kim by his side.  Awww.... 

Kang Candy & Tae Yi Ryeong:
Oh these two are just about perfect.  He spends most of the episode as the tortured one sided love of TGS trying to help her & liking her at the same time & she spends the entire episode supremely jealous of TGS & Kang Candy.  Without meaning to, she even gives him the strength to just be there, for TGS.  She shows him how much she will not give up, she will beg, she will 'grow big' & she will impress him to like her too, by gum!  And then he thanks her, tells her she is cool & that he will now use this tactic on TGS.  Totally not what she wanted.  Her reactions to his stubbornness are awesome all on their own.  This, of course, forces her to set up a fake appointment w both JJW & TGS at the same restaurant that he proclaimed his love for her, in the hopes this would jog his memory & they'd be together again & then she could get Kang Candy back.  Even though she really is unhappy that TGS is going to end up with someone as important as JJW, she'll sacrifice. 

They meet in the restaurant:
He walks in looking for Tae Yi Ryeong & sees a woman sitting by herself at a table in front of him, w the exact same books he is reading at his house, the story of the goat & wolf.  TGS puts the book down & looks up to see the ghost waiter staring at her & she jumps, nearly tipping her chair over & in comes JJW FTW!  He places his hand on her shoulder to steady her & swish the ghost waiter disappears.  He's still got it!  He asks her if she felt something go through her very intensely? But she remains silent.  She doesn't turn & look at him, she doesn't utter a syllable.  It was very frustrating to me!  He apologizes & heads up to the room he is supposed to have a private dinner w the other Tae.  And then he sees & watches as TGS, stoically & quietly, hugging her books to herself, walks out of the restaurant below, looking ever so sad. 

Aunt hears the back story to her neighbor Ha Na Brown:
Her father is English & her mother Korean, she was adopted.  Her real parents were killed in an accident & even though she did meet an uncle once there was no family member that could take her in, after her poor artist parents were killed, so she was adopted by a wealthy British family. 

At the End:
This episode went by so quickly, unlike this review, right?  It's okay I know I am wordy when drugged.  But I stayed focused right?  Yay me!  Almost done & then I can go to sleep until my kids get home from school. 

Tae Gong Sil, arrives home after a long day & turns the corner to her apartment & finds Hee Joo's ghost standing there.  We hear Cha Hee Joo's voice but we don't see her lips move as she asks, "You love Joo Joong Won, don't you?  Please lend me your body?"  TGS asks in return, "Can you catch the culprit?" To which Hee Joo nods.  Then just as TGS is trying to decide what to do, Joo Joong Won walks around the corner of the rooftop & spins Tae Gong Sil to face him, dispelling Hee Joo's ghost.  And asks point blank, "Who are you?  Are you Tae Yang?" 

And now we wait another week for 2 more episodes.

Unnie's Wednes...uh...Thursday Write Up... scheduling conflicts of interest.

Sorry this is a day late guys but I managed to somehow get, not one, but two viruses this week, from my kids.  First a stomach bug, that was fun, (sarcasm) & now I am fighting a nasty little head cold.  It's perfectly normal & rational that, at this very minute, the temptation to chop off my own head is normal, right?  My forehead feels like it's going to explode, my glands are swollen, it hurts to turn my neck & my ears are filled with pressure from the congestion, as are my sinuses.  Needless to say, I have spent most of this week sleeping too.  2 viruses in 1 week, that has to be a record right?  I'm telling you this does not bode well for this next school year, that already we are getting sick.  Sigh. 

So today's Wednesday Write Up will be short. 

Originally, I had planned on doing this yesterday, but my head hurt too much to stare at any kind of computer screen, which is why this would have made more sense yesterday, sorry.  AddiKts, don't forget that Wednesday's episode of The Master's Sun is delayed to Thursday as a special showing of The Thieves was shown on Wednesday, holiday programming for Chuseok.  How The Thieves is more Chuseok related than The Master's Sun is, I haven't the foggiest.  I have the feeling the station felt the ratings would drop so much due to the holiday that they decided to air a different show until more people would be able to watch & keep the ratings up.  Next week they will air episode 14 & 15 on their regular dates & then the final episode, 16, will air the following week on the 2nd of October.  Now here is where I am not sure what is going on.  One site, which now I can no longer find, said that there will be a special behind the scenes/making of The Master's Sun airing the following day but another site, said it was an extension of the show, meaning 17 episodes.  Whether the 17th episode is the special or it's another actual episode & then they will air the special I have no idea.  I tend to believe the allkpop article since I can no longer find the other one.  Guess we'll have to wait & see.  Then the following week Heirs will debut.   

The other thing I wanted to talk about was the news that Kim Hyun Joong's latest Kdrama, "Inspiring Youth", has been postponed until next year.  In a move, very reminiscent of the City Conquest debacle, there is apparently a problem with dates, due to Chinese holidays, for the scheduled filming. Because of the mix up, shooting has been delayed, instead they will be airing Jang Keun Seuk's new drama, "Beautiful Man".   Upon reading that this morning I was disappointed, frustrated & yes almost resigned to the feeling it was going to all fall apart like CQ did.  I never should have watched King of Dramas, it all smells like a conspiracy to me.  Someone wants to stop KHJ from being in dramas.  But why?   KHJ who did you piss off?  o.O   So pray, burn incense, sacrifice on an altar, send positive vibes or happy thoughts, sprinkle fairy dust if you need to, but everyone we must work together to get KHJ back on the air in a drama!!

No Matter What by Seo In Guk OST for The Master's Sun:

The Master's Sun ep 12 Review

I honestly have no idea how to start this review.  My mind is blank.  I'm just.........













Yup..... ^ That big blank space just about sums it up.

Although, I do have a few choice words for a certain set of sisters that need to take a walk with me out to the woodshed.  >:(

Start at the beginning & take it slowly from there:
We all know the kiss at the end of 11 was just a lip press, therefore there is no point wasting time talking about the kiss.  After they kissed She faked falling asleep/passing out on his shoulder & then pretended to no longer be possessed. Once she is in his arms, he basically tells her that since she had to pretend to be a ghost ,in order to tell him how she truly feels, it's obvious to him that she can't really handle everything as it is.  But she, irritatingly, continues to pretend it was a ghost.   Thereby sweeping everything he just said under the rug & pretending nothing serious or scary is happening between them.  Work on your communication skills guys, please?  Eventually, he ends up in her little rooftop attic.  Where a few things happen...

1.) He sees her bras on the bed.  That was fun & cute BUT a missed opportunity for him to handle it as sexily & cutely as Kim Do Jin did in AGD, when he saw Seo Yi Soo's matching bras & panties on her bed.

2.) He discovers that Candy Kang comes over enough that she stores his beer of choice in her teeny little fridge.  Which makes him very cutely jealous, ending with him trying to remove the beer, her making him put them back BUT before he does he just has to show his truly mature nature by shaking them both violently first & then placing them back in the fridge.  Later he'll come back to her apartment with his own beer & purposefully remove Candy Kang's beer & put his beer in it's place. Very mature.

3.) After she gets a text message from Candy Kang & rushes off to help & he realizes he has to know but cannot read said text he bribes the little boys in her building to read it for him, by promising toys for every sentence read.  And then nearly suffering a heart attack when the little boy misread "Do it with me" (re: the separating of the trash cans) w "I Love You" at the end of the message.  Then happily finding out through his reconnaissance w the kids that she thinks that CEO is the "most special person in the world."  This scene with the kids was so sweet & I loved every minute of it.  Well played kids!!

4.) He gets to spend the night holding her hand & watching her sleep next to her bed, on the floor.  Such a sweet, romantic, lovely scene.  Both of them want to protect the other one so much.

Psychology 101:
At this point I am getting frustrated by the fact that they, the Hong sisters, are starting to make up reasons to keep them apart.  Things that in real life just don't make any sense.  This is usually where they start to lose me in their dramas.  But this one episode may drive me to the point where I finally lose it with them.  While they were having their night together, Aunt was confronting Secretary Kim about the relationship between Joo Joong Won & Tae Gong Sil.  She just doesn't get it & I can't tell if it's out of true concern for JJW, her nephew, OR if it's just that Tae Gong Sil, in her eyes, is unworthy.  I'm leaning towards truly worrying for JJW's welfare but I'm just not sure.  And we get to see another face to face meeting with Candy Kang & Tae Yi Ryeong as she informs him that it won't be him that is in the scandal with her but JJW.  I admit I feel really bad for her.  She obviously likes him so much but he just thinks she's some shallow, selfish, well off snob & is blinded by his like for TGS.  And I really think, he has this issue where he "needs" to be the knight in shining armor & she doesn't need one, so he doesn't feel anything for her.  He hasn't figured out yet that she needs a knight, every bit as much as TGS needs her "safety hideout".  She may be a snot head from time to time & could use a good face slap too, but she isn't a bad person & in fact has massive self esteem issues. This is all IMHO of course.

Oh no they didn't!!:
Here is where I find I just don't know what to say.  Episode 12's ghost story is that of a little boy, who was tragically killed in what was just a horribly tragic accident.  The man responsible for this accident panicked though & hid the boy's body.  His mother frantic to find her son, stands at the entrance to Kingdom handing out flyers by the dozens to passers by, sobbing & begging for people to help her.  Tae Gong Sil watches in tears, overcome by emotion, trying to decide what she should do???  She can see that the little boy's ghost is standing right next to his distraught mother, as she searches for him.  How do you walk up to a grieving, distraught mother & tell her to stop searching for her child, because his ghost is standing next to her & that means her son is dead?  I thought about it over & over watching this episode, as she wrestled with this one question.  Both TGS's sister & Joo Joong Won were against her telling, & I have to say I was torn in pieces trying to figure out the right answer.  For one thing will the mother even believe her?  Will she then become the main suspect if she tells, as it might turn out no one believes she can see ghosts, & therefore must be the murderer herself, how else would she know what happened & where to find the body?  And also trying to figure out if  it were me, & IF I did believe her, would I want to know or not?  If I don't know, then I will always have hope, which could be good or bad, depending on how obsessed I become with trying to find the child, I hope, is still alive.  If I do know, well then I can make peace & allow myself to move on.  However, what if I didn't make peace?  What if JJW is right & instead I would rather just give up & die with my son?  This one question made my head & heart hurt equally!

Sorry got a little too deep there didn't I?  My bad, moving on.  So the thing is, TGS brings the little boy who won't tell her anything, because he's scared, to the 3 men & explains that she needs them to help reassure the child & calm him enough that he might talk to her & tell her where to find his body so she can go to his mother.  From reading the flyer she is able to find out that he likes to sing kids songs, & he has a picture of a teddy bear on his t shirt, so maybe they could sing a teddy bear song to him?  At first JJW is so not doing this, but Candy Kang & Secretary Kim are all over the idea, of helping the little boy.  By the time the men are done singing the song, Joo Joong Won is quite happily & cutely singing along.  I loved these 3 men so much for doing this for the little boy!  It was adorable!!

Eventually, the little boy talks to her & tells her where she can find his body, it's the trunk of the car of the man who accidentally ran him over.  He owns his own car repair shop & she heads there, without any help from Joo Joong Won or the police, & ends up trapped in the garage by the man.  After quickly sending out a text to JJW where she is, which through sheer determination & the fact that he loves her so much he is able to read enough to know where to go, she gets backed into a corner, with the man wielding a long wicked looking screw driver, Tae Gong Sil is rescued at the last minute by Joo Joong Won who jumps in front of her to protect her, taking the screw driver into his back in the process.  At first, she has no clue that he's been hurt & the bad guy, in shock, flees the scene.  He talks to her & tells her how glad he is that she isn't hurt.  Then he passes out on her shoulder & she realizes that he has been stabbed, just as the police arrive.  He's rushed into the operating room at the hospital.

Not going there yet:
Before I get to the final scene of this episode, there were other things that happened that were worth mentioning too.

Tae Yi Ryeong's scandal for one thing.  She meets with both JJW & Candy Kang & the decision is they will all play it off as just casual acquaintances.  She had dinner w JJW because she is the store's model & she knows Candy Kang because he is a security guard at Kingdom, they are friends & had a simple tea together once.  This way, she doesn't look trashy & neither man looks desperate to be with her.  No love triangle, no scandal.  But this isn't all to her story.  She & Candy Kang have another face to face.  I didn't really get the whole speaking in parables thing they were doing except he feels she is too much for him to take care of, no matter how much she may like him, he can't handle her high maintenance life & besides, remember, she doesn't really need him & he needs women who "need" him.  As he gets back in the security room, he sees her standing there in the same spot, sadly & slightly in shock, & then notices she is crying & wiping away tears.  He even gets to watch as she squares her shoulders, puts on her sunglasses to hide the truth, & stoically turns off the vulnerable her & puts on the model version of her again.  Sleek, sophisticated & sure of herself, walking away w swag.  And you can see he is rethinking his opinion of her.  FINALLY!

But even more important, after a lecture from TGS that he needs to stop running from his fears & face them so he can get his life back, (is read again) JJW finally calls Candy Kang to his office for an explanation of the contents of the manila envelope his father gave him.  He comes to the same conclusion, that Hee Joo must have a twin sister that none of them knew about & asks Secretary Kim to go to the orphanage & investigate & here is where I got my first real shock of the show.  When Secretary Kim talks to himself out loud saying, "I guess he found out." & then asks, "is she Hanna?"  And if I find out that Secretary Kim was in anyway involved with JJW's sad history or if he's known about it but been protecting the bad guy I am going to be so ticked off because I adore & trusted him so much.

And lastly, that Mystery Woman almost tips her hat to Aunt.  She has, so it would seem, expressed an interest in a good cleaning lady for herself & Aunt invites her into Joo Joong Won's home & intros her to his housekeeper.  At this point, they see that Joo Joong Won has been trying to read the Wolf & Goat story.  She accidentally lets it slip that she knows he can't read.  And when Aunt looks suspiciously at her, for knowing something no one else knows, she quickly & very smoothly lies, that it was when she was drinking wine with Uncle, he told her.  And she explains the main theme to the Wolf/Goat story to Aunt, who then sits down & reads it only to ominously finish it & says out loud, "They end up not living together, and really, the one that liked the other more is the one that dies.  What kind of story is this?"  Considering how this episode ends I think her question is very apropos.

Time to face it:
Okay, the part I was putting off until I absolutely had nothing else to talk about, the end.  Oh AddiKts, this was so hard to watch but harder still to actually talk about.  Right now I hate this review & this episode & I loathe the Hong Sisters.  After Joo Joong Won is rushed into the operating room & Tae Gong Sil waits alone in the hallway.  After a while of sitting alone a man approaches her wordlessly & stands right next to her, when she looks at him, we get to see it is Joo Joong Won.  Slowly, she realizes that she is seeing his ghost.  And he tells her that it's okay if he is dead, because he can tell his woman this one thing before he goes. "Tae Gong Sil,  I love you."  And then he disappears & she slides to the floor & sobs profusely.

And I sat there with my mouth agape & teary eyed, no I didn't cry too hard, & just couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Here is where I point out a few things;

1.) There are still 4 more episodes to this show, it is very unlikely they killed off the lead this soon.

2.) There are other possibilities to this scene.  It could be a nightmare that TGS is having or one that JJW is having while he is unconscious on the operating room table.  OR and this is mine & Dongsaeng's favorite theory, he is having an "out of body" experience while his actual body is in a comatose state.

3.) If he is having an "Out of Body" experience, as we sincerely hope he is, this could offer so much awesomeness to the story.  The possibilities are endless.

For example: Scenes of him haunting Candy Kang, scenes of him teasing TGS that he has seen her when dressing or showering, the opportunity for his spectral self to help find out the secret & the real deets behind what happened all those years ago & why.  And the opportunity to help his family believe in TGS as he does.  And maybe if we can find out the secret to TGS's accident we'll find a connection between her & JJW from before that might explain why only he is able to dispel the ghosts who gather around her.

These are just ideas & theories.  I have no idea what is happening, but if the Hong Sisters do end up killing him off I will be so extremely pissed off.  If they don't take advantage of this scene's possibilities then I will be washing my hands of them.  And I may end up re-writing their crap ending & using that as my actual review instead of talking about how much they, & their ending to what was an awesome story, suck.

Now the hard part...waiting a freaking week to find out what the crap they were thinking!?!?!?!

The Master's Sun ep 11 Review

I'm baaaack.  You just can't get rid of me permanently.  No matter how much you want to, sorry guise, guess you're stuck with me.  No long winded confessionals from me this time.  Let's get this review started! Boo-Yah!!

He's confessed!  He's totally just admitted he loves her!  YAY!!!  Party in my head!!  So excited to watch the big happy response & maybe another kiss or several.  You could almost literally hear the air whoosh out of my imaginary balloon when she asked him if he was making fun of her & then said he was scaring her & refused to admit she liked him back.  I get she's worried about getting hurt & she doesn't like feeling like a vulnerable fool but come on!  Where's my stinking kiss?!?!  How about a hug at least!?!?!  Dang Tae Gong Sil, kill an Unnie's dreams why don't ya?  O.O

I lilked his first response, all those times you talked about ghosts I was scared. However, I accepted it.  you accept it too.  LOL  Spoken like a man!  Suck it up princess & deal with it.

Did anybody else notice that it was a very Mr Darcy-esque type of confession though?

JJW: "I wondered why I still kept you by my side when the calculations are all wrong..."

Mr Darcy: “In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.” 

Both men like these women against their own common sense.  I found it interesting, that once again, Jane Austen & KDrama share commonalities.  Maybe it was just me though.  *shrugs shoulders*

I also loved that his confession was more of a warning to her not to fall in love with him. He confesses really weird...but so adorably.  And in the midst of all this she gets bugged by another ghost who wants her attention.  Poor Tae Gong Sil, she can't even have a confession without being bugged by the dead.  But it lead, FINALLY, to a hug.  And an even deeper confession.

And just when he is trying to woo her with promises of taking her anywhere she wants, which is when she gets so happy at the idea of being able to date at night again,, he gets a call that drags them away!  Bless her poor little talking to the dead heart.  Where does he need to be?  At the funeral to the father of his biggest rival, the CEO of Giant Mall, no less.  And boys does she look happy about it too.  *giggle*  

How awesome was Joo Joong Won's expression when she was literally saying, "Wow!  he's so good looking!" about his rival?  I was giddy with giggles & happiness at his jealousy!  

Enter this week's main ghost story...

Getting in touch with your feminine side:
So Giant Mall's CEO's dad has passed away.  But all is not what it appears.  Rumors are spreading like wildfire he was found dead in the home of his mistress of many, many years that he kept very, very secretly.  While he pretended to live an upright, clean, tidy life of the devoted & faithful husband & father.  Justifiably his son is more than a little bitter & angry.  Tae Gong Sil, using her radar abilities, seeks out & finds the deceased Chairman & conveys his request to Joo Joong Won that he wants them to clear out the mistresses residence before his son can see it.  Of course JJW being who he is, he wants nothing to do with this nuclear bomb of a story.  When she suggests visiting the Chairman's vacation home, where the mistress lived, to clear out her belongings, Joo Joong Won instead suggests they spend the night at his vacation home.  And when she declares she can't spend the night with him there & to keep dreaming he innocently says, "I am able to sleep with you just holding your hand.  I had trust in you but you don't trust me back?"  Thankfully she didn't fall for that line anymore than I did.  Oh men.  Sigh.  So transparent.  Of course the conversation turns a little more serious about how she will have to be the one to end it when she is no longer to face the ghosts alone.  

Now during this week's story line we got to see just how jealous Joo Joong Won can get & how ridiculous he will get when he is jealous.  Giant's CEO comes to Kingdom for a meeting regarding a mutual access road for both properties & int he process runs across Tae Gong Sil who is trying to get the ghost to come & visit her by wearing the perfume his mistress wore, & which she could still smell on his spirit.  This gets the attention of his son, who recognizes the scent he frequently smelled on his father himself.  Which was odd,a s his mother never wore perfume.  JJW, Candy Kang & Secretary Kim all watch as JJW's rival follows TGS to her little office & Secretary Kim, perfectly timed of course, let's it slip that earlier she had asked for the address for the vacation house.  Obviously Giant's CEO is handsome & he is attracted to TGS, since he's following her, & he would find great comfort with her at his side.  And on that note JJW immediately goes to TGS & offers to take her to the vacation home himself. 

To which I immediately said, "BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!"   

Once they arrived there though, trouble ensued.  No sooner had they arrived when Giants CEO arrived too.  YIKES!!  Nowhere to hide, nowhere to run!  They were so screwed!  until JJW used his cell phone to call his rival's cell phone & demand an immediate meeting to re-negotiate the access road at Kingdom.  Giant's CEO agrees & leaves.  Phew!  And that's when the truth is unveiled.  The picture on the camera that the Chairman wants erased is that of his "other woman".  but when TGS finds the picture she is more than a little shocked at what she finds & then shows to JJW, at the chairman's request. He wants to see how JJW reacts & if he thinks JJW believes his son would forgive or be disgusted.  

It would seem the chairman's "Other Woman" was none other than himself.  He was a closet cross dresser.  A huge no-no in South Korean society.  And he was more worried his son would be repulsed by his father's secret vice, than he was at the thought of his son hating him for having an illicit affair.  After the big reveal the son, dutifully & lovingly agrees to keep his father's secret hidden & honor his father's wishes.  Love the happy ending as usual.  

Return of the REAL Culprit:
While Tae Gong Sil & Joo Joong Won are helping a dead transvestite come out to his son, an old enemy resurfaces, as does Joo Joong Won's dad.  With evidence that Cha Hee Joo may not be as dead as previously thought & on the search for a possible twin.  But father & son do have one thing in common...besides blood.  Stubbornness.  Mind blowing stubbornness.  Unlike anything heretofore seen.  neither wants to bend.  It is only the treat that perhaps his dad might doubt the veracity of Tae Gong Sil's ghost abilities & that he might just call her in to be interviewed via Candy Kang, that finally gets Joo Joong Won to finally go to his father.  Who gives him a manila envelope filled with pictures & post cards & other evidence of Cha Hee Joo.  It is here that Joo Joong Won tells his father that she was the bad guy & that his father tells his son I gave her the necklace & they both admit to being completely bamboozled by her.  

As for the return of the REAL culprit?  A woman runs into Aunt & Uncle, near their house, twice & then once at Kingdom mall.  But she isn't alone, Cha Hee Joo's ghost is closely following on her heels.  Is this the person Hee Joo needs to protect?  Is this her sister?  Her twin?  Whoever she is, it is obvious she is up to no good & has very nefarious plans.  At dinner with Aunt & Uncle's house, when Uncle receives a shocking phone call alerting them that a scandalous news article will come out the next day, where Tae Yi Ryeong, humiliated by Candy Kang's rebuff of her affections, claimed that she was hanging out intimately with someone at Kingdom mall, but not the man pictured with her in the subway, that in fact it was with Kingdom's CEO Joo Joong Won himself.  When their guest figures out that Tae Gong Sil, not Tae Yi Ryeong is the CEO's girlfriend.  Just as she once used Cha Hee Joo to lure Joo Joong Won, I am betting she will use Tae Gong Sil this time.  

It Hurts:
When Aunt goes to talk to Joo Joong Won about the article & questions him sincerely as to why he won't let Tae Gong Sil leave & why this girl would not be humiliated enough by the article to leave him, TGS overhears it all.  And just after she finally put on the necklace/amulet of the sun charm that JJW bought her before his trip to China.  He tells Aunt, while staring directly into TGS face that she has no self esteem, that money, news articles, appearing pathetic will not affect her, because she has to cling to him no matter what for a specific reason.  TGS agrees with him but you can obviously see this is beyond anything she could have imagined in humiliation.  She leaves, he follows, she leaves him again, and cries her way home.  Once there she removes the necklace regretting that he saw her wearing it.  And he can't stay away, he loves her after all & goes to her house.  After banging on the door, she emerges.

Only it isn't "her".  At least that's what she wants him to believe.  She fakes a possession & uses the opportunity to tell him how hurt, humiliated & broken she is by what she heard.  At first he believes her but when he grabs her arm & the possession doesn't disappear he knows she is herself.  And finally he asks her, do you know how I got rid of the nutcracker lady?  Then he grabs her & pulls in for another kiss. 

Unfortunately, even though, this time it is Tae Gong Sil, it's still just a lip press.  I know both of these actors can do better than this.  I blame the director for this one.  This kiss should have been different, special, full of more emotion.  She should have fought him off at first only to finally submit to one whopper of a passionate kiss, imho.  But it still managed to give me tummy flutters.  What can I say, I'm emotional this week. :)  

Look at that I finished two reviews in one day.  Yay me!  Now I intend to take a long hot shower & my new meds & pass out.  Till tomorrow for episode 12 AddiKts.  Have a great night.  And thank you again for your patience!  You guise rock!
