Episodes 11 and 12 bring us a myriad of varied and mixed emotions, especially when it comes to our love triangle. High highs and low lows for our living and non-living girls alike. And some movement with our mystery and resident bad dude thrown into the fray just for kicks.

I Remember You Episode 11 - The Bromance That Can Not Be.
For someone so smart, Hyeon sure has horrible social skills. Secrets are revealed, brothers are emotionally hurt, and our OTP finally starts feeling like an OTP. All in all, a wonderful episode yet again from my favorite drama.

Hyde, Jekyll and I Episode 11 - Robin is A Real Boy
Things heat up this episode as Robin and Seo Jin face off for Ha Na's affections. Who will win the hand of our fair maiden? And does it really matter when the two men are really one and the same? These questions cause one personality to start acting frantic while the other focuses on the past and overcoming the traumas that caused the split to begin with. Either way we are in for an emotional roller coaster and a very confused leading lady.

The Joseon Gunman Episode 11 & 12 - Everyone's Secrets are Revealed.....More or Less.
Hello my dear readers! I know that you probably were wondering what happened to me and my Joseon Gunman recaps and I would just like to apologize for my tardiness. Due to life and KCON (mostly KCON) I fell behind in not only watching all my dramas, but also my recapping so I will be frantically watching and blogging this week so I can be caught up.
Let's first discuss Soo In who truly must be one of the densest woman ever. How does she not realize that Ho Kyung is eying her as a potential wife. Especially when he is hanging on her every word and trying to fulfill her every whim. Guys don't do that just for fun and not expect more than mere friendship. Of course she might be slightly distracted by the beauty that is Park Yoon Kang who possesses all of the flashy qualities sure to attract a girl. He is equal parts bad boy revolutionary and sweet caring brother. What is not to like? Poor vanilla 2nd lead does not stand a chance.
Poor Yoon Kang has a boss who is maybe going to ruin his plans of revenge and mayhem. Don't know why, but that just cracked me up. Yoon Kang has to put his revenge plot on the back burner and quickly make some connections with the local tradesman or it sounds like he is going to be in some trouble.
His boss might not need to ruin his revenge plans since his annoying little sister is doing a fine and dandy job all on her own. Hearing rumors about a gunman's death, she runs straight to her brothers house (the brother who is supposedly dead and please recall that she is a wanted fugitive as well as an escaped slave). After verifying that Yoon Kang is OK, she is almost caught (lets just admit that she was caught and just not captured since her quick about face was fooling no one) by Merchant Choi and his daughter. Yet another nail in the, is he or isn't he Yoon Kang, coffin.
It seems like Merchant Choi is having his own problems as he attempts to start making deals with exiled Kim Byung Je. It seems that creepy politician ahjussi has tried to mess with him one too many times and plans are in the works to throw off the creepy ahjussi's yoke. I for one would love to see the old man get what is coming to him. Yet again I would like to say how sad I am that Yoon Kang and Merchant Choi could never become allies (because of the whole, I killed your father, issue.). They are both such amazingly well developed characters.
Stepping up his "who killed my father search" as Yoon Kang just starts kidnapping the next link in the chain pointing towards the big bad political ahjussi. He sends a note stating to send the man who shot his father to a preset location and sat there waiting.......Yup, no hidden plan, just waiting, which is slightly simple minded in my opinion. It is no wonder that he gets caught and his identity confirmed by Merchant Choi. It is only luck that allows him to escape death, and even then he is also identified by the head of the police (his dads previous 2nd in command). His secret is firmly out of the box.
As I continue watching the drama I am getting more and more of a feeling that the story is really about two gunman, not just Yoon Kang. You have to wonder how narcissistic these nobleman are to think that they can continue to treat a trained warrior like a slave without having to face the piper. Merchant Choi practically oozes menace when he is in the gunman persona and yet they think nothing of insulting and slapping him. Half the time I expect them to suddenly show up dead with a gunshot as the cause of death. And just as I finished writing the above paragraph Merchant Choi turns on the stupid noble jerk and shoots him. It looks like the hunting dog is officially off its leash.
Choi Hye-Won continues to be one of my favorite female characters as she discovers the truth about her father and his identity as the gunman. You could see the conflict within her as she realizes that he had murdered the father of the man she loves, as well as attempted to kill her best friends father. Her resolve strengthens as she informs her father that even if Hanjo is Park Yoon Kang he needs to leave him alone. "The day you kill him is the day you lose a daughter". WOW! She is one tough as nails heroine and yet again I am left wishing that she was the lead in the drama.
Even with his daughters threat hanging over his head Merchant Choi continues to plan Yoon Kang's death, just not before he gets the connections with the Japanese company first. Yoon Kang also plans his eventual confrontation with Merchant Choi (aka The head gunman) but decides he needs to get evidence first before he has his gunman showdown.
Hye Won makes her decision on where her loyalties lie and goes to visit Yoon Kang where she declares her love and asks Yoon Kang to let Soo In go from his heart and let her stay by his side and protect him instead. Hye Won tells him that she has known his secret for a while (worst kept secret EVER) and that it is her desire to have Park Yoon Kang for her own. Well that is one way to confess to a guy. You have to give her props for being direct and knowing her own mind. Hye Won then goes and has a nice and subtle girl talk with Soo In where she tells her bestie to forget Yoon Kang and settle for Vanilla Boy. I am just taking a wild guess that Hye Won is not going to handle rejection well and at some point in the future that aggressive one track mind is going to be turned against Park Yoon Kang.
It amazes me how long the writers have had Yoon Kang and Soo In circle around the "secret identity" that is no longer a secret. I am just thankful that we finally have the OTP (One True Pairing) just come out and say that they know that each other knows and where do we go from here? I think we have reached the point when it starts to become stagnant when nothing changes. There is only so much noble "I am saving you by keeping silent" idiocy that one can take. After being faced with the proof that Soo In does indeed know his secret, Yoon Kang once again tries to force her away for her own good. Of course that only lasts for about 10 seconds before he runs after her and embraces her tightly. Can I just pray for some plot movement between these two next week because so far they are coming in a close second to vanilla boy as the most boring part of the drama.
The episode ended with a great scene between our two antagonists Yoon Kang and Merchant Choi. It was pretty much a who's cojones are bigger contest between the two as the match wits in a I know and am going to take you down, but not yet verbal contest. Each ends up grabbing the others shoulder (right where the identifying wounds reside) as the spout verbal "hypothetical" threats. HAHAHA. I could watch these two go up against each other for the rest of the drama. It is a fact that they have more chemistry and interest with their relationship then Yoon Kang has with our leading lady. I can't wait to see what happens when they take off the gloves and really start to fight.

Episode 11
I will be discussing the episodes in separate sections rather than a whole since I watched one two weeks ago and then the 2nd one today. Unfortunately that leaves a lot of time for my mind to get hazy about episode 11 so my thoughts might be brief.Let's first discuss Soo In who truly must be one of the densest woman ever. How does she not realize that Ho Kyung is eying her as a potential wife. Especially when he is hanging on her every word and trying to fulfill her every whim. King of High School Episode 11 - Let the Emotional Feathers Fly
The bubble of cuteness has burst and we must now sit through the angst and sadness that accompanies a lie of this size. Min Seok (in his school uniform) and Soo Young stare at each other in shock as Yoo Ah comes up and hugs Min Seok's arm. Neither acknowledge the poor stalker but eventually Soo Young runs off with Min Seok in pursuit. He tries to explain the situation but it does not go over well. It goes over even worse when he meets up with her later that night again trying to assure her of his love. But when she rebuffs him he left devastated (no one can do devastated as well as Seo In Guk).
Poor Min Seok, once Soo Young finds out his real age it is hard to see past that number. I can understand where she is coming from. It is hard enough to be in a large age gap relationship when you actually know about it. To find out that you were a cougar this whole time unknowingly is kind of life altering. That combined with the whole "my whole life is a lie" aspect of her boyfriend is enough to make anyone run away. And let's not forget the stalker girl sitting in the wings yelling at her sister every time she gets a chance.
Soo Young is understandably upset that her sister is only thinking of Min Seok and her own issues instead of how devastating it was to find out that your beloved boyfriend is really ten years younger then expected. In true selfish teenage fashion Yoo Ah is unable to see beyond her own feelings and yells at her sister for thinking that she could have Min Seok, calling her grandma and pretty much just saying anything hateful that might hurt her Soo Young. The tension is broken (at least for us viewers) when the two girls end up having a pillow fight before Yoo Ah storms off. I thought it was interesting how we saw the remnants of the fight stay on the floor (the feathers from the pillow) through the whole episode. Just another reminder that everything has fallen apart for our heroine.
Yoo Ah decides to deal with the situation by ignoring reality. She does her usual stalker activities of giving Min Seok snacks (my heart broke seeing him so dead inside during this scene) and decides to be proactive by trying to hook her Unni up with Jin Woo. Yoo Ah calls Jin Woo to meet her for dinner and discuss the "situation" resulting in her offer to help him with his wooing. I still think that Jin Woo is all wrong for Soo Young, but now I have a new ship to sail from this drama. Stalker and White Ricecake Ahjussi (aka Jin Woo) are adorable together! I want Yoo Ah to graduate from high school and marry him ASAP so she can scream and take down his father a peg or two. I never even thought of them as a possible couple until this scene. See! There is actually a way for me to not hate Jin Woo. And there is even time for him to get that much needed therapy in before she is legal to marry.
Soo Young runs away to her rural home where she roams the town and pines for Min Seok. It doesn't actually say she is pining, but I will assume she is since who would not be missing that awesome bundle of yumminess? Yoo Ah gives White Ricecake (that nickname is awesome) the heads up on Soo Young's location and he runs off to attempt to woo her back. All I can say is way to little to late. You had your chance and you were a total jerk. But at least his change of heart has allowed me to accept him as a possibility for Yoo Ah.
Soo Young politely declines Jin Woo's interest but he pulls her into a hug, again trying to change her mind. This of course is the exact moment when Min Seok walks into the picture and his look of utmost despair just ripped out my heart. He slowly walks away, only to burst in on the couple a few moments later dragging Soo Young off to talk. We end episode 11 with nothing resolved and the two men facing off yet again.
Oh the heartbreak and feels that this episode evoked in me. On one hand I knew that this was where we were heading plot wise, but knowing and feeling are two different things. I appreciated how the writers kept the sweet feel of the drama steady by using side characters to keep the humor intact. Grandpa shadow boxing Min Seok was so adorable and helped ease the pain of that scene and also Min Seok's handler trying to cheer him up with porn just cracked me up. The show was able to be sad without sinking into a deep melo pit in which it can't come out. Now I just have to patiently wait for subs so I can watch Seo In Guk call Soo Young Noona. Silly how small things like that can thrill me.

Witch's Romance Episode 11 - Reality Sucks and Other Reflections
After watching episode 11 I have come to the conclusion that reality sucks. It is obvious that our two leads agree since neither is happy and are instead staying drunk or busy fantasizing about each other. It just goes to show that when you are doing the wrong thing (even if it seems like the right decision) you will be left emotionally empty and in dispair. Hopefully Ji Yeon realizes this before she makes a permanent mistake.
She seems not only shocked to see the couple kissing (she comes across them after the drunken courtyard kiss) but very upset that he likes someone who is already taken. I don't know about the rest of you, but I had pretty much forgotten that she even had A one sided emotional connection to Dong Ha. That is one of the few flaws in the drama, when it comes to second leads (Polar Bear & Mouse Girl) there is not really any emotional growth or connection between them and the viewers. I have yet to hear anyone wish that Polar Bear would actually get the girl. This might possibly be one of the differences between Korean and Taiwanese writing.
In Korea they always want to have good 2nd leads (whether you love them or hate them they always try to create a presence). In Taiwanese dramas, they often feel like an afterthought. They usually have some kind of completed ending to their storylines, but they are only there for the movement of the main couple, not for any individual character growth.
I don't like how she is so stilted around him (I know she loosened up later in the episode but still not the same as with Dong Ha). I don't like how he treats her as a simpering little girl who needs him to protect her (not to mention his reaction when her real personality comes forth).
It drives me nuts how he makes decisions about their life without consulting her (i.e. house, dogs, work, weddings, etc). Ji Yeon calls her polar bear fake persona "Image Maintenance", hiding the real her behind a meek and quiet manner. But the problem with that is you either have to live your whole life under a cloud of lies and be the meek miss he is expecting, or cause the relationship stress when your real personality decides to let its freak flag fly high.
Things are not all flowers and bridal books for Ji Yeon either. She spends the whole episode looking upset and sad and if we had to take a guess as to why, I would say it is the giant judgmental polar bear standing in the room. Constantly apologizing for her interaction with Dong Ha and trying to make excuses, she continues to become more and more sad as she tries to convince herself that she actually wants to marry Shi Hoon.
She asks her bestie why she is not happier? Why does she keep missing Dong Ha so much, even to the point she is hallucinating that he is near? Na Rae, being the awesome and insightful BFF that she is, tells her friend to look towards her heart not her head. Who is her heart pointing towards? Anyone else want to join in a group shout "Just go back to Dong Ha already!"
Dong Ha stalks out of the room leaving Ji Yeon to her thoughts. I think we are all just impatiently waiting for her to realize that she can either have happiness with Dong Ha or the fake relationship with Polar Bear. I for one am praying that she gets a move on and decides soon. I am done with this part of the plot and I need to move forward.

Oh Yeah. Mouse Girl is Still in the Drama.
I guess I just assumed when Mousey girl was warning Ji Yeon to be nicer to Dong Ha, that she realized that they were the two people involved in the tragic situation. But that is not the case and my brain registered wrong. She seems not only shocked to see the couple kissing (she comes across them after the drunken courtyard kiss) but very upset that he likes someone who is already taken. I don't know about the rest of you, but I had pretty much forgotten that she even had A one sided emotional connection to Dong Ha. They usually have some kind of completed ending to their storylines, but they are only there for the movement of the main couple, not for any individual character growth.
People Stop Making our Puppy Sad.
A dagger has been thrust through my heart, over and over and over again. I swear anytime Dong Ha starts to have a hard time because of people telling him of Ji Yeon and Polar Bears romance I just want to give them a finger flick to the forehead. Can't you see that the poor puppy is dying in front of your eyes from a broken heart. Of course I forgive them once they realize what they have done and obviously feel the same level of turmoil at Dong Ha's predicament. The scene between Marriage Momma and Dong Ha is especially bittersweet as she consoles him over his loss.
Really? He Was the #1 Catch Six Years Earlier?
Is anyone else having a real hard time watching Shi Hoon and Ji Yeon be a couple. It gives me the same feeling as if a stranger had come up and started stroking my hair. A mix of WTH, shivery creeps, and fear all mixed into an intense ball of dislike. I JUST DON'T LIKE IT.
Drinking Makes the Inner Feelings Come Forth
That "Image Maintance" begins to break when Ji Yeon gets plastered and makes her way home..... to the wrong apartment. Letting herself into Dong Ha's apartment our tipsy girl snuggles into his bed and passes out. The next morning she awakes to the sight of him laying next to her in bed, and rather then be upset she snuggles into his arms. (I know it is a dream sequence, but this poor OTP fan needs the snuggling skinship where I can get it). Sure enough the dream, that sweet sweet dream, is interrupted by Dong Ha loudly telling her to get out of his bed. HEHEHE I love the difference between the fantasy morning and the reality.
Fantasy
Reality
Scuttling out of the apartment, Ji Yeon runs smack into her fiancee just as Dong Ha follows her with her purse in hand, yelling at her that since they don't live together anymore she can't just do what she wants. OUCH.... can we say things are slightly awkward?
Best Flashing Kdrama Scene Ever
Soo Chul stole the show with his cute hmphs and snarky comments.
Displaying a busybody persona usually reserved for critical ahjumma's,
he waltzed through the episodes giving both Dong Ha and Ji Yeon the
stink eye. Not to mention asking all kinds of personal and pointed
questions, culminating in the most random moment of the whole drama. He walks into the room where Dong Ha is brooding and goes into pervy flasher mode. HAHAHA So is flashing your roommate your twig and berries a bromance thing, because that was epically hilarious. At this point I don't think I could love Soo Chul anymore.
Where Does My Heart Lead
She asks her bestie why she is not happier? Why does she keep missing Dong Ha so much, even to the point she is hallucinating that he is near? Na Rae, being the awesome and insightful BFF that she is, tells her friend to look towards her heart not her head. Who is her heart pointing towards? Anyone else want to join in a group shout "Just go back to Dong Ha already!"
Sexy Spa Time
I think she is slowly starting to move towards that realization as well after she has a particularly charged moment with Dong Ha in a spa. Ji Yeon and Na Rae are treating themselves to a massage when Dong Ha comes across them in his part timer duties. Ji Yeon instinctively pushes him into an empty room when Polar Bear enters into the waiting room. Dong Ha is obviously upset when he asks why he has to hide when he has done nothing wrong. He reverses the positions and pushes her against the wall invading her space and she does nothing to object. In fact she again looks sad when he does not kiss her.

Gap Dong Episode 11 - Anyone Can Be A Gap Dong
This episode really pushed the"anyone has the ability to become a psychopath" concept as we delve into the mystery that is Gap Dong. As profiler Han Sang-Hoon says "Anyone can be Gap Dong or what we call a neighbor psychopath. They hide themselves behind a layer of normal in order to blend in with us humans." However, is it just me, or is there an enormous amount of killers packed into this drama. Let's countdown our possible Gap Dong's and see if we can make an educated guess on who it really is.
Wannabe - Gap Dong Killer #1
Just as Wannabe Gap Dong is about to bludgeon his victim, Moo Yeom tackles him wrenching away the hammer, and cuffing him with a victorious smirk ( Is anyone else disappointed that there is no nunchuck action yet? If we don't get at least one nunchuck take down I will be seriously distraught.)
Waffling between fear and defiance, Wannabe mostly just glares at Moo Yeom during interrogation. He refuses to say anything and causing our Mad Monk some serious cranky moments. Called into the CCT room by Chul Gon, he is told that there is no way this is Gap Dong, but instead an impostor. Mocking his analysis at first, but eventually accepting Chul Gon's opinion, Moo Yeom reenters the interrogation room and goes a tiny tad bit crazy. Dragging in a giant hammer, he tells wannabe that things were now going to get real, and he slams the hammer into the table (does anyone wonder about the police budget for ruined furniture because of unethical interrogation tactics?) The onlooking officers inquire if maybe they should do something and break this off, but it is not until Wannabe breaks through his bonds and is about to slam the hammer into Mad Monk that they scramble towards the interrogation room. I am totally wondering about the whole police stations common sense. From their actions, it is obvious that they just don't have any.
Luckily for our Mad Monk, Wannabe does not follow through on the swing but instead slams the hammer into the two way mirror yelling at Chul Gon. “This is all your fault. You began it. I lost everything because of you. At one word from you, my entire life went down the drain.” It seems that he also was a possible suspect in the initial murders and due to his handling of the case, Chul Gon caused Wannabe's downward spiral.
He continues to rage at Crazy Tiger, ignoring Moo Yeom “You’re even worse than Gap-dong. At the very least, Gap-dong knows who he killed. But you don’t even know who you killed, or how many.” For once, Chul Gon seems to lose his cocky expression and asks if an apology would mean anything now. It truly is a wonderful scene for Chul Gon's character. Starting to come to the realization that he actually caused so much heartache and began butterfly effect of brutality seems to humble the detective. I really appreciate this moment of growth in a character that I truly hated at the beginning of the drama.
Monk Jinjo - Gap Dong Suspect #2
OK, I admit I don't really find this character as a viable suspect as Gap Dong, however I had to have some type of segue to discuss the whole moving to Dr Maria's house craziness. And the show has provided a few half hearted attempts at making him seem suspicious so suspect #2 he becomes. In an effort to protect Dr Maria (but really how do you protect this ditz from herself), Moo Yeom has the monk and his little orphan monks in training move into Dr Maria's.
Han Sang Hoon - Gap Dong Suspect #3
Dr Maria's stepfather and blabbermouth extraordinaire becomes the focus for quite a bit of this episode. He not only knows all the details of the crimes, since he was the profiler (and maybe killer) in the original cases, but he has befriended multiple children that had their lives turned upside down by the murders (Wannabe, Moo Yeom, Dr Maria).
He also seems to get a kick out of throwing out leading comments about people's possible guilt, and or involvement in the Gap Dong murders, into the conversation. Especially comments about Chul Gon and his possibly murderous tendencies. However these kind of comments backfire and make him a prime suspect in Moo Yeom's eyes. After digging more into the profiler's background and why he was fired from the police department, Mee Yeom finds out that he had been accused of having a "Lolita disease". I am assuming this means he was accused of being a pedophile, which brings a whole new layer of EWWWW onto the concept of him being Dr Maria's stepfather. But is this all true? Does him being a creepy perv also make him a killer?
How twisted would it be if Chul Gon actually was Gap Dong. Again, I don't think this is really the case since I just don't get any killer vibes off of him. Totally complete jerk extraordinaire? Yes. Can he enrage others to the point of murder? A resounding heck yes. But being the serial killer that cold blooded went out and murdered 9 women, then stopped. Nope, not buying it.
I think the writers are a little red herring crazy. If there is a male between the ages of 30 and 60, they are going to throw him into the suspect pool.
Tae Oh - Gap Dong Copycat Suspect
No........ say it isn't so! Tae Oh can not get on a plane and escape to Switzerland. I refuse to accept it. It looks like Moo Yeom refuses this turn of events as well since he is rampaging around in full stop Tae Oh mode. But it does look like our favorite killer is attempting to go straight and leave the country. When he comes to say goodbye to Dr Maria (because they have such a strong and lasting relationship....rolling my eyes here) he mocks Moo Yeom's attempts to goad him into staying. And even when he has a slight twitch when it is mentioned that Tae Oh should feel furious at following a loser fake Gap Dong, he refuses to take the bate. He simply tells Moo Yeom, "You saw me wanting to stop yourself. See. Ive stopped. I can do it".
And if you were thinking that this is yet another red herring to defer any suspicion and further his Gap Dong murders, those are dashed when we watch Tae Oh actually get on the plane??? Just as I was about to break into sobs (I was not joking when I said that if Tae Oh is off the show, then I am done) we see a glimmer of the killer we all know and love. He overhears a flight attendant talking on the phone about how she is so freaked out to be on the plane with a murderer and his whole being just seizes up. I love the inner struggle to not let his psycho smile come out as he tries to contain his rage.
As much as he tries, Tae Oh is not able to contain his inner urges. He waits until everyone on the plane is asleep before confronting the flight attendant who had bad mouthed him. He rushes toward her and next thing we know he is back in his seat, listening to music with the dead women's headphones. I love the last moments of the scene where we see him shaking in frustration over his actions.
I guess stopping is now a lost dream and surprisingly, I feel a little sorry for him. Does this mean he is coming back to continue his killing rampage? How is he going to get out of being accused of the stewardess's murder? Whatever the case, I am just so thankful that he is still in the drama, because without him we are left with a so so murder mystery filled with boring possible suspects.
