Kmuse Top 5 (plus 2) Kdrama Countdown - Favorite Kdrama Drinking Moments

I would first like to thank everyone who has sent me suggestions on what topics I should cover in my Top 5 countdowns!  It has really gotten me excited to work with this segment as well as given me a lot of future ideas.  If you also would like to let us know what Top 5 you would like to see featured in our blog, be sure to leave it in the comments or send us a quick message on our FB page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-crazy-ahjummas/336988683021748?fref=ts).  As I was going through the hundreds of dramas that I have watched trying to pick my favorite drunken kdrama moments, I realized that I might have more than just 5 so you get a few extra bonus moment of hilarious imbibement as a thank you for following our blog.  If there is a top moment that you think I missed be sure to let us know!

#5 Don't Drink and Date- My Secret Hotel
Number five on the list is from the newest show on our recap list (be sure to check it & our recaps out) My Secret Hotel.  Who knew that Yoo In Na could play such a likable drunk.  Her character Sang Hyo goes into despair when she is forced to plan her ex husbands wedding, which leads to a couple drinks, which in turn leads to her flopped on the floor of the hotel, proposing to her boss.  That is one way to get noticed by your hottie boss.
#4 Drink til you are Drunk and Then Some - History of A Salaryman
Next we have a scene from one of my all time favorite dramas "History of a Salaryman".   It is always on the top of my recommend list and one of the most underrated dramas out there.  Bratty chaebol heiress Yeo Chi challenges a local mob boss (and two of her coworkers) to a drink off with the last one standing (or not throwing up) winning a boon of their choice.  Yeo Chi manages to drink everyone under the table and still be sober enough to trick her crush into taking her home.  That is truly a talent worth photographing.
#3 Drunken Possession-The Masters Sun
Nothing screams comedy more than a fun comedic actress becoming a dog due to ghostly possession.  Luckily for Tae Kong Sil (and we viewers), this only happens when she imbibes and her emotional boundaries are down.  Leading man, Joo Joong Won, got an unexpected midnight visitor when Kong Sil comes to visit possessed by the ghost of his dead ex-girlfriend.  And then proceeded to see a whole lot of crazy as she was then possessed by a toddler, a seductive french dancer, and finally a feisty dog.  Needless to say, Kong Sil should be careful to stick to Sprite in the future.

#2 Drink til you Feel the Urge to Reenact ET - My Love From Another Star
Doing something embarrassing while drunk is taken to a whole new level when it comes to our favorite alien.  In a flashback Do Min Joon explains the events that lead to his current need for sobriety.  Unknowingly drinking rice wine during the Joseon period, Min Joon got tipsy and lost his serious demeanor.  Losing it by making things float in the air and taking a horse for a joy ride across the path of the moon.   I guess that if I was alive during a time where they promptly killed anything unknown, I would try to keep my ET moments to a minimum as well.
3 WAY TIE FOR #1
Drunken Seduction - Witch's Romance
I love this scene where the romance really starts to heat up between our leading lady Ji Yeon and her much younger costar Dong Ha.  We get a narration by Ji Yeon's BFF, Na Rae, who explains that somehow her friend always seduces her boyfriends with her drunken crazy persona.  As Na Rae is narrating we see Ji Yeon compliment herself in front of traffic mirrors, fight with banners, and order Dong Ha into her house to have another drink.  The drunken crazy is obviously in full swing.

Poor Dong ha did not have a chance since a drunk Ji Yeon pretty much assaults him with her mouth.  But after a second he is fully involved and they move it to the bedroom.  I will let you all see the next parts via pictures since they truly do the scene better justice than my prose can.
You Drunken Dog You - Reply 1994
This wins my vote for most unexpected reaction to drinking.  Before all of the OTP (one true pairing) wars that this drama created, there was a wonderful drinking scene between the cast as they just hang out in the living room chatting and drinking beer.  But it was when Sung Na-Jung (played by the hilarious Go Ara) started winking that it got truly amusing.  Her roommate, Haetae, starts to tell in a voice over, that whenever Na Jung drinks she turns into a real dog.  We see her walk over to her roommate/brother figure Trash and lean in really close. Just as you think she is going to passionately kiss him, she bites his lip instead.  HAHAHA, truly a funny drama moment and makes you wonder how they filmed it without cracking up laughing.
Unsanitary Drinking - You're Beautiful
I will never forget one of my first and most memorable kdrama drinking scenes.  This one makes me gag to this day anytime I recall and is truly the grossest drunk moment on our list.  Nun turned kpop idol, Mi-Nam, has her first experience with champagne at a party where she is pretending to be her twin brother.  Feeling dizzy and nauseous, the poor thing heads to the rooftop where she finds her unsuspecting band mate.  Throwing up first in a planter (which is gross enough), she then falls on top of leading man and fellow band member Tae Kyeong.  At which time she promptly throws up again IN HIS MOUTH...  EW EW EW.. There is no amount of sanitizing that could make that poor boys mouth clean.
This concludes my trip down memory lane of my favorite drinking moments.  Remember to send me a quick note if you have a topic for our future countdowns, as well as if you have your own favorite drinking moment that is not already listed.  It is always fun to chat with other kdrama fanatics.

TCA wishes a Happy Birthday to the Asian Prince, JKS

It is that time again everyone.  Time to tell you about another wonderful favorite leading man, of these 2 Crazy Ahjummas.

Jang Keun-suk was born August 4th, 1987.  Which means in approximately 2 hours, U.S. Central Time, he will be celebrating his Natal Birthday & turning a whopping 25 years old.  Of course, as I write this post it is already 8-4-2012 in Seoul, South Korea; & he is already 25 years old & has been for several hours now.  So Yay!!!  Yay for Jang Keun Suk-ssi.  We are so happy for you.  We want you to know that WE wish you a very happy Natal Birthday!! Because we truly believe that our blog has become SO popular that ALL the South Korean celebrities read our posts & follow us, anonymously, of course.  Hmm-mm...yup...that's what we believe.   O_o...

Cricket/cricket  WHAT?!?!  It COULD happen.

{{Okay so maybe not.  I doubt any of them even know we exist.  Sniff sniff...  Okay and that ends that pity party. - Psst...Unnie?  Focus!  Right sorry AddiKts.}}

I don't know about you guys but Dongsaeng & I, first saw our JKS in the Musical K-Drama, "You're Beautiful".  He played the brooding, lead singer for A.N.Jell, Hwang Tae-Kyung.  And he was dark & broody & had a great singing voice & perfected the role of the TKJ.  Which, solidified his role as the guy who gets the girl.  I will admit in the beginning of this one, I absolutely loved him, however, by the middle I was less than thrilled by the lack of chemistry between him & Park Shin Hye (the lead female).  And by the end even though I knew he was going to win her, I was rooting for Jung Yong Hwa to get the girl.  He was just so sweet & he didn't have all those weird outfits like JKS did.

And oh our JKS is king of the funky outfits, isn't he?  Not just anyone can wear outfits like he does though.  My favorite is his latest look, the headband.  Thank you to Top Star News for pinning their article onto Pinterest...
You have to be secure in your manliness to pull this off.

But it wasn't until a few months ago while we watching other dramas that were nearing their end, & so we were desperately looking for something else to take their place, that we once again were reminded of how much we adore sweet JKS.  He stole our hearts once again in the romantic/melodrama Love Rain.  Where he played not just one character but two.  He played Seo In Ha, a painfully shy, incredibly kind & selfless, artist from the 70s who falls in love w/ a painfully shy & incredibly kind & selfless, med student.  Fast fwd 30 years later & he now plays his original character's son, Seo Joon.  A, "not a shy bone in his body", TKJ, & in-famous photographer of fashion & models.  Who has commitment issues.  Until he falls in love with the daughter of the girl, his father was in love with 30 years ago.  Complicated right?  (**Note Unnie's final installment of the Love Rain Review of ep's 16-20, will be going live tomorrow...sometime)  My favorite moment from Love Rain, was the kiss scene from episode 9 of course.  That was the kind of chemistry I wanted in "You're Beautiful" & just couldn't find.

LOVE RAIN KISS SCENE

He was amazing in both roles & I was constantly reminded why I genuinely like Jang Keun Suk, who has no self esteem issues to deal with, he is the self proclaimed "Asian Prince", after all.  No really, he calls himself that.  hahaha...I LOVE his modesty.  But he also has a great sense of humor it seems, he has no problem hamming it up for the camera anywhere he goes.  And loves to tweet, FB & generally post his own selcas all over the internet.
Including pictures of himself standing in front of his own CD display at the store.
Not just posing but purchasing copies of his own CD too.
Yeah cuz that face mask makes it so we can't tell it's you.
Anybody want some eggs to go with this "ham"?

But then there are the shots of him that make our mouths water & our eyes bulge with his shexy smolder.

This one proved his line in Love Rain could be true to life as well...

Because he totally had me in;
3....2....1!

Jang Keun Suk-ssi, we want to wish you the very happiest of birthdays. We hope you are surrounded by your loving family & true friends.  That you celebrate a successful & happy & fulfilling year.  And we'll see you, fingers crossed that no one has run us of the internet by then, next year.  Saranghae JKS.

 Saengil Chukahamnida Jang Keun Suk-ssi!!!

Please keep entertaining & turning up the heat for us for a long, long time?  We heart you JKS!!  Keep the cute, funny, shexy selcas coming!

All our Love,
Unnie & Dongsaeng

(That's Noonas to you JKS)

Happy birthday Lee Min Ho and Jung Yong Hwa!

So, technically it is still the 21st where we are, but back in Korea, it's the 22nd of June and the birthday of two of our favorite guys - Lee Min Ho and Jung Yong Hwa.  While normally we here on TCA wait until the day has arrived here in our neck of the woods to wish our favorites a happy birthday, tomorrow is a big review day for us and we don't want these two lovely young men to be overshadowed or lost in the fray.  They deserve a post and a day all their own, so here we go, celebrating it while they celebrate it!

We loved Lee Min Ho in Boys Over Flowers as the spoiled rich brat turned debonair heartthrob, Gu Jun Pyo.
He was swoon-worthy in Personal Taste as architect Jeon Jin Ho (and who can EVER erase the memory of the "Game Over" kiss from our minds?!?!  One of the best drama kisses in history!).

Then there was City Hunter.  Oh City Hunter.  The drama that forever sealed him as Lee Min HoTTie!  At least for this ahjumma  noona.

Jung Yong Hwa captured our hearts and ears as poor, poor Shin Woo in You're Beautiful.  Sweet Shin Woo who can't get the girl despite what has to be the cutest stalker date ever.  The ultimate example of "nice guys finish second".  Shin Woo will always be synonymous with the 2nd male lead character who should have gotten the girl (sorry Jang Geun Suk - but it's true.  I still love you though.  No hard feelings?).  I felt so bad for Shin Woo that I watched Heartstrings just to see Jung Yong Hwa's character finally get the girl and mend my broken, sympathetic heart.

While watching Heartstrings, I, just like Unnie, fell in love with Yong Hwa's beautiful, crooning voice.  As the leader, lead singer and rhythm guitarist of real-life band, CNBLUE, Jung Yong Hwa has shown that he is multi-talented and can do whatever he sets his sights on, whether it be capturing our hearts as a drama star or performing his own unique music as a musician.

Or to hear it all, visit their official You Tube channel.

So, to two of our favorite guys, we wish a very happy 23rd and 25th birthday!  Thank you for your hard work and dedication to our entertainment!  We look forward to many more years spent ogling drooling over enjoying your entertaining offerings.

Saeng-il chuka hamnida!  Lee Min Ho and Jung Yong Hwa fighting!
생일 축하합니다!

Love,
Dongsaeng and Unnie

{P.S.  In case you missed it the first time around, Unnie did a little write up of both of these guys in her "Oppa Krazy" post.  She also featured CNBlue and Jung Yong Hwa in her very first TCA post here.  You can see that she is obviously a devoted fan!  Even I, Dongsaeng, have jumped on the fandom train in the past as witnessed here in a post originally done on my personal private blog where I talk about City Hunter to a bunch of people that I love but who couldn't care less about Lee Min Ho or his amazing talents.  Boy!  Are they ever missing out!}
