Yong Pal Episode 13 - I'm a Crocodile......Hear Me Roar.

With only 5 episodes left (yes they finally decided that the drama will be 18 episodes total) the writers finally decided to let Yeo Jin stand up and became the driving force of her own fate.  And while in theory this is a good thing, in execution, this Ahjumma is left wondering "What the fudge is she doing?"  Let's just say that the final scene left me feeling slightly appalled and hoping that what I think happened, didn't really happen.  But before we get to that, let's chat about how Yeo Jin the crocodile came to be.

Our romance and our mystery/suspense really ramp it up as we prepare for the grand finale. Our couple has a few "little" things to overcome if they're ever going to be together. Possession, love triangles with dead girls, and an evil-spirit possessed foe/friend/brother-in-law out to get them for starters.

Mask Episode 13 - Adorkable Min Woo for the Win

OH MY GOSH!  This episode was so full of the cutest, cheesiest, totally 100% dorky romance, that I could barely contain my squeals.  Sure we are still kissless, but Min Woo eases the lack of skinship pains with his over the top gushing towards his wife.  We are talking cooing newlywed gushing that is rarely seen in kdramas.  So come join me as I delve into their scary displays of PDA (public displays of affection), along with some crazy couple combusting from Seok Hoon and Mi Yeon. Because everything can't be all flowers and sausages, or else this wouldn't be Mask.

Hyde, Jekyll and I Episode 13 - The Snark Is Strong in This Blogger

I am not sure if it is because I am sick or if it is because this show is just pushing my last nerve after the unpleasant ep 12 (Hint: I did NOT enjoy it).  Whatever the reason, I just feel the urge to complain about a few things that have gotten on my nerves when it comes to this show and specifically things in this episode.  Just a friendly warning, Kmuse is cranky so proceed with caution and know that next week I will probably be back to my more unbiased self.  So anticipate a lot of snark and a bunch of photos this recap.

My Secret Hotel Episode 13 - Stuck in a Continuous Wash, Rinse, and Repeat Cycle

We left episode 12 with Sang Hyo agreeing to live with Hae Young for a week (supposedly to save his poor sick father) and playing house.  All while avoiding her boyfriend Sung Gyeom (I am seriously feeling bad for this poor sucker) who, though bringing it upon himself for jumping into a relationship with a married woman, does not deserve this selfish of a girlfriend.  UGH This girl is getting on my last nerve.  Just choose already and be a descent human being and treat whoever your significant other ends up being, with decency and common courtesy. That means do not talk to, live with, make out with, sleep in the same bed with, (and it should go without saying) DONT MARRY, someone who is not your official boyfriend.  Finally Sang Hyo went one step too far and Sung Gyeom is drawing a line in the sand (This really should have been done 4 episodes ago so we would not have to rotate around this flighty heroine anymore.).  

Sang Hyo has to make a decision, go home with Hae Young (who she is still saying is just someone who she is helping) or go to her supposed boyfriend who is waiting for her?  Hmmmmm what will she do?  Do we even care anymore?

For those of you who still care about our OTP, she chooses to stand up her boyfriend ex-boyfriend and go home with her husband.  A car ride during which she complains about how uncomfortable facing Sung Gyeom is for her.  We are skipping facepalms and going straight to the facewall photo because this girl is just too much.

I actually cheered when Hae Young pulled the car over and chewed her out.  "Stop mentioning him around me.  You know how I feel about you, Don't keep drawing the line like that."  Finally, a whole sentence comes out of our leading man's mouth without her interrupting or misunderstanding.  And surprisingly enough, it is exactly what Sung Gyeom was also telling her.  I wonder if it will finally get through Sang Hyo's brain that she can't continue to treat the men in her life this way.

I am really enjoying dumped Sung Gyeom more than boyfriend Sung Gyeom.  Not only that, but it looks like Picasso might actually win her man by default.  They play a cute game of "Trash Sang Hyo" where Picasso keeps complaining about her "Sang Hyo is not really that pretty, more slightly above average at best" and Sung Gyeom replies "You're right, she is more cute than pretty".  HAHAHAHA  It really is quite cute.  Picasso even admits to her involvement in Sang Hyo's marriage with Hae Young and apologizes, in her own way.  Sung Gyeom just replies "At least you are consistent" although he still looks upset.  He ends the night, brooding in his hotel room.

There was a cute moment between Hae Young and Sang Hyo (I think I might stop calling them an OTP, because saying anyone is Sang Hyo's One True Pairing is a bit of an overstatement since she has the sticking ability of twice used adhesive) when she goes into Las Vegas flashback mode.  Sang Hyo remembers how poking Hae Young used to make him horny.  Phtttt I laughed when he said "My body is erotic all over" Too cute.  I like Las Vegas flashback married couple.  But what is up with Sang Hyo's shirt?  I am pretty sure that wearing a shirt that has the words "Buy Me" all over it is not really the image you want spread out to the world.  Is this a case of Koreans not caring what English words are used in their drama as long as they are English? Or is it really poorly done product placement?  Buy Me could mean buy this shirt, or buy this lipstick, or buy me as a leading lady that deserves a hot husband. In any case the answer is still no.

How refreshing are Hae Young's parents?  It is amazing to see a wealthy family not disliking their sons orphan wife for once.  Not only do they not dislike her, but are totally supportive of their son following his heart towards the woman he loves.  When they said they would go for a walk, upon catching their son and Sang Hyo getting frisky (or fighting over a cell phone, its all depends on ones perspective) they stole my heart.  Unfortunately their early departure to the US puts a crimp in Hae Young's plans, and being the mature grown up he is, he lies his pants off when questioned by his wife.  SIGH.

I guess that I gave Sung Gyeom too much credit in assuming that he thought it was over when Sang Hyo never arrived on the first floor to meet him.  Instead he goes to talk with Sang Hyo .....again.....and asks if all she needs is a week .....again......... to be done with Hae Young.  Does anyone else feel like we are seeing the same conversation over and over.  Just grow a pair and tell her that she is officially dumped. That her treatment of you is NOT all right, and you deserve better.  But no, instead she agrees to move out immediately now that her in laws are gone, dumping Hae Young........again...........in order to return to Sung Gyeom.........again.  And yet again, the part of me that cares is absent.

Returning to Hae Young's house to gather her things, Sang Hyo calls to find out the pass code.  When he refuses to tell her and hangs up, she starts putting in random codes until she tries their anniversary date, which of course opens the door. HINT: HE STILL LOVES YOU, YOU TWIT.  Hae Young races home, frantic to stop her from leaving him again.  He bursts in but finds all of her things gone, at which point he collapses crying over losing her....again.  We see tears rush down Hae Young's face as a flashback shows us his devastation over coming back to her in Vegas, only to find the house empty sans a ripped photo of the two of them.  The beautiful music from the OST is playing its magic on my heartstrings (if only the writing was as amazing as this OST), and for a brief moment I am sucked back onto team Hae Young.  Because really what is better than an angsty tear ridden khottie pining for his epic love. Sang Hyo walks back into the house, oblivious to Hae Young's emotion meltdown.  He rushes forward, embracing her, still crying and begging Sang Hyo not to go.  "Give me a week.  Please don't leave me".

Instead of being moved by his obvious despair, Sang Hyo tells him to stop, that it is over.  Hmmmm haven't we done this scene already?  Writers, you are just getting plain sloppy now.  She walks out the door and Hae Young is left alone again.

At this point I am just begging the writers to put us all out of our misery.  But the fickle writers are not done with us yet.  We end the episode with Ms Buttinsky butting her big nose back into Hae Young's marriage....again.  Writing a scathing article about their fake marriage and how it was only for the good of the hotel, Ms Buttinsky sets the balls in motion for our couple to reunite.  Because heaven forbid we don't go down this road again......and again.........and again.  Thank goodness we only have one more week so this circle of idiocy will finally end.  I know that this viewer is looking forward to it.

The Joseon Gunman Episode 13 & 14 -Double Crossed and Death

Slowly but surely I am catching up with "The Joseon Gunman".  Political intrigues are heating up and everyone is shifting alliances trying to get one up in this horrible battle over power and enlightenment.  Who will win?  And who is going to end up being the visionary that will shape the face of Korean politics.  If nothing else it is a topic which is more engaging than how many times Soo In going to be either crying or need saving this week.

Episode 13

Do you know where your daughter is? I am pretty sure that Soo In's parents would have to answer this question in the negative.  Soo In sure seems to have a lot of free time to roam about with single men.  And she is still oh so boring, so at least for now we are going to skip the reunion and the mediocre kiss to go on to more important plot points.

Is it just me, or does Yoon Kang seem to constantly forget that his nemesis (Merchant Choi) has a bunch of gun toting minions at his disposal. This is the 2nd time that he acts like he is facing only one person and is caught in a trap by a 2nd (or more) gunman taking him out.  And why is there not more outside interest about all the gunshots going on in the merchants house. It is not like that is a common sound in that time period, or that it can be explained away as a car backfiring.  I think if i was a policeman looking for random gunman, I would follow the sound of guns.  

Yoon Kang manages to fight his way to victory and is finally able to confront his fathers killer.  However before he kills him Hye Won rushes between her father and Yoon Kang's gun.  Pleading for her fathers life, Hye Won tells Yoon Kang that her father will go confess to the police if he spares his life.  Yoon Kang being the softy he is (and might I add, extremely naive about politics) agrees and hands Merchant Choi off to the police.  But judging from the knowing looks being thrown right and left as he is brought in, our 2nd favorite gunman will not be incarcerated for long.

Sure enough he is taken from police custody and an arrest warrant is sent out for Park Yoon Kang.  Rolling my eyes at how totally lacking in street smarts our heroes/heroines are in thinking that everything was over.  Luckily Yoon Kang is able to think fast once he is incarcerated and devises a plan to get confessions from the lackeys that framed his father.  But in true idealistic annoying hero fashion he again underestimates his opponents.  Yada....yada....yada.... and in the end he is the one who is accused of high treason and sentenced to a speedy beheading.   

It always amazes me when they just expect the bad guys to admit their guilt, or even more unbelievable, that Hye Won would willingly condemn her father to death.  The looks of disbelief she received made me chuckle, because you were a twit if you thought she would turn on her dad for a man she is not even married to.  

Episode 14

We sure get a lot of jail cell hand holding scenes between this OTP (One True Pairing).  They can't seem to stay out of trouble and out of prison.  I am sure I should feel more emotions when watching them, but it was just not meant to be.  As a couple they continue to bore me and the Lee Joon Gi costar curse continues.  Why does such a sexy leading man have such a hard time really connecting in with his costars?  It is a kdrama mystery.

Super hot sword wielding mystery assassins are always a good addition when you need some excitement added into a plot.  While being taken to some mystery location to be beheaded (why was he being moved in the open roads anyway?) the guards are attacked by a band of unknown swordsmen dressed all in black.  I was always curious, why would you dress all in black during the middle of the day?  Isn't it slightly conspicuous?  I can understand the blending benefits of the clothing during nighttime, but during the day you just stick out as a band of bad guys or men on a revenge/secret mission.  Those are pretty much the only two options within a Saguek.

This time the dark clothed saviors were the good guys, led by the head guardsman and the king.  YAY! I like the king, even though he seems to be very ineffective in getting anything accomplished against his political foes.  He requests that Yoon Kang help him in stopping the people that framed his father and I begin to think that an alliance is in the making.  That is, until Yoon Kang throws it back into their faces asking them how he can trust them when he is the one sentenced to death and the man who murdered his father is let free with his pride intact.  Yoon Kang tells them to kill him now because otherwise he will simply go and kill the guilty party ASAP.   The king lets him leave with the words that "he will continue to try and avenge Yoon Kang's father, and that if Yoon Kang changes his mind, come find him at any time".  YAY, the alliance is probably back on once Yoon Kang learns some more life lessons!  Hopefully they will come quickly since I need my political intrigue fix.

A mysterious (that seems to be my word of the day in describing this episode) man arrives in Joseon asking for Hanjo/Yoon Kang.  When he is told by spunky maid that he has dies, it is interesting that he replies that Yoon Kang is not the type of person to perish so easily and if he shows up to tell him that his friend from Japan has arrived (loving this character already).  Catching sight of Yoon Kang sneaking back into his room, his friend (still nameless) admonishes him on his revenge plans that will only lead to more blood shed and more people looking for revenge.  Zen teacher then states that for things to change, the world must change.  We need to look at the big picture and not at our anger.  Yoon Kang is not any more receptive now than when being told similar things by the king.  He is done with forgiveness and is going to try doing things a different way.

Hye Won is just having a really really crappy week.  First she must betray the man she has feelings for to save her father (completely understandable), then when she finds out he is still alive and tries to apologize, Yoon Kang brutally shuts her down and even the happy moments she thought she had had with him are crushed.  Then finally she finishes out her trifecta of suckage by upsetting the merchant company and losing all of her stock.  Poor Hye Won is done and the horrible events lead her to attempt to take her own life by wading into the river.  Her father ( I still love him even though he is a murderer) rushes out of his house despite the threat of Yoon Kang and frantically looks for his daughter.  Merchant Choi finds Hye Won just as her head goes under and is able to fish her out of the river.  Desperately yelling at her to live and go on, Merchant Choi is able to save her and gives her a fatherly lecture on how life will never be fair to them, but they must go on and give up on things like pride and love.  It is fascinating how I am responding to this pairs trials more than the majority of the other characters in the drama.  I actually care what happens to them and want them to come forth and step on all those nobleman who treat them so poorly.  I really do enjoy Yoon Kang's character, but when it comes to who I really want to watch, it is definitely the Choi's.

However, it looks like Merchant Choi's time might be up.  He is chased by Yoon Kang and sent to a familiar cliff (I am pretty sure it is the only cliff in all of Korea where a person can die).  Merchant Choi begs for his life (yet again), but this time Yoon Kang will not be swayed.  He shoots Merchant Choi first in the leg for his father, in his left arm for his sister, and then finally in his chest for himself.  Merchant Choi lifts his arm as he falls backward off the cliff into the river below.  Well that was unexpected.  I was really enjoying the two men's skirmishes and now all I am left with is the boring romance.  Of course the whole falling to one's death off a cliff into a river usually indicates that the person is not dead yet so there is a good chance we will see Merchant Choi resurrected soon.  If nothing else this might inspire Hye Won to find her evil side (a side that has been surprisingly absent so far) and do a little bit of revenge of her own.

King of High School Episode 13 - No Skinship For You!

We had some great character movement this week as well as some interesting new questions uncovered.  How is our OTP (One True Pairing) going to deal with the real life issues regarding the age gap, most importantly the whole underage problem.  Being a pedinoona is all well and good in theory but it still goes a bit into the ick zone in actuality.  Also what is going on with CEO jerk father and his searching for Min Seok's dad?  And as we start getting to the end of the story, we demand the answer to the #1 question of the whole drama.  What is going on with Min Seok's brother/doppelganger and what kind of fallout will he bring upon his arrival?

Before we talk about my favorite topic (Seo In Guk and his amazing ability to be romantic and funny), lets touch on some of the side characters.  Or as I am beginning to call them "The Loyalty Gang".  I love the development of all the side characters as they are slowly pulled into the gravitation pull of Min Seok's orbit.  Min Seok is one of those characters that seems to change those around him.  For example, we see his two handlers slowly become less of adult handlers and instead become minions/friends.  They are constantly splitting their time throwing their hands up in the air and wailing about Min Seok's actions and worrying about him like mother hens.  I loved the scene where Team Leader Kim comes in and starts crying to Min Seok, that he should not worry about his future. That he would take responsibility for Min Seok and get him a job at his brother-in-laws sports club. Then there was a lot of hugging and cheek smooches going on.  AWWWW bromance rules!  And when the two minion handlers discover that Soo Young knows the "secret" they get super duper cute and form a little club that is designated to keeping Min Seok's identity safe.  It was hilarious how into the secret group everyone was, even going to the point of a quick cheer for loyalty.  Poor Min Seok was sitting back in embarrassment but reluctantly goes in for a quick cheer.  I think it is interesting that this group is very similar to the interaction between Min Seok and his high school buddies.  I have this fantasy that when this is all over all of his friends, old and new, will go out for Chinese food and beer.

We get a little more insight into the huge guilty secret that CEO evil dad (I might downgrade him from evil to just emotionally stunted dad).  Surprisingly it does not seem to be a direct murder type situation, but rather an unintentionally destruction of Min Seok's father's company which lead to his committing suicide.  Which does not make him a good person, but maybe not evil enough to warrant the absolute destruction that I feel Hyung Seok has planned.  I am guessing that the problem is more one of extreme guilt than actual nefarious actions since CEO ES Dad is the one to go find Min Seok's adoptive family.  He even tries to give father Choi money for Min Seok and Hyung Seok as an apology but the money and the apology is rejected.  I am very interested to find out exactly how involved ES Dad was in Min Seok's parents death.  

Yoo Ah has turned into one of my all time favorite 2nd female leads.  Not only does she take the mature route and let Min Seok go as it comes apparent that he does not have feelings for her, but is also (after the shock) 100% supportive of Soo Young after the reveal.  I am so used to the absolutely brain dead and/or crazy 2nd leads that when a normal female is in that part I am not sure what to think.  Yoo Ah's comforting Soo Young and working towards getting their relationship back to that of close sisters was truly a wonderful character moment.  Again I thank the writers for thinking outside of the box in both their plot as well as their characters.  

I will admit that I am not one of those viewers that is really putting much thought into the whole age problem, mostly due to the fact that the actor is Seo In Guk (SERIOUSLY, a girl would have to be stupid not to fall for him whatever his age).  I guess in my mind he is Seo In Guk and totally deserves a pass on the whole underage thing.  But after reading a few other comments about the last two episodes I realized that if some older cougar hoochie tried to seduce my son when he is still in high school I would be sending the police after her so fast you would not be able to see straight. 

Not saying that this is me..............but not saying it is not either clip.

 So it was with some appreciation that I realized that the writers were going to actually deal with the age gap even after both of the OTP declared that they would not let it keep them apart.  It also helps that the writers solution is pretty freaking hilarious.  Min Seok arrives at work all ready to be back in boyfriend mode with his popcorn noona, but was in for a huge shock when Soo Young informs him that she would not be participating in any skinship (hugs and kissing) until he turned legal.  HAHAHA  Poor Min Seok of course was flabbergasted at her restrictions and Soo Young simply tells him to "grow up faster".  Luckily we do get some exceptions to the no skinship rule.  My favorite being when Soo Young is looking at photos on Min Seok's bed and when they grapple for the photo album (Min Seok is trying to hide naked baby photos) Soo Young ends up sprawled on top of him.  I love how both just seem to hold their breaths since both are obviously aware of how enjoyable their situation is.  Then the tension is broken when Min Seok begins to tease her and call her an insidious grandma.  Phttttt, our OTP so cute when they tease each other about the whole age problem.

We also get some resolution to Min Seok's injury and impending leave from the hockey rink.  I appreciate that we are not expected to think that having a girlfriend is going to completely fix his life and make all the bad things go away.  Min Seok puts his usual stoic face on concerning the injury, but Soo Young is determined to help him recover.  Soo Young pretends that she wants him to be her personal trainer (since it should be Min Seok rather than some other muscular hottie) and then secretly have him do physical therapy during their exercising.  There were a lot of cute moments where she miraculously "found" therapy equipment set up and he eventually blows up at her trying to fix something that can't be fixed.  Luckily the fight did not cause long term damage and the result at the end of their working it out involved some sexy kisses (Has anyone else noticed how different and interesting each kissing scene is?  I thoroughly approve.)  Anyone else thinking that she should have maybe suggested kisses for physical therapy?  It is a win win and she is doing it for his own good......totally justified.  She has nerves of steel to keep saying no to an adorable and horny Min Seok.

In true drama fashion, we get to see the big "dum dum dummmmmm" cliffhanger as Jin Woo finally discovers Min Seoks big secret.  How is this going to affect the nemesis relationship?  Are we going to finally get some cute bromance moments now that Min Seok is not the threat he originally thought?  When are we finally going to see Min Seok's hyung because double Seo In Guk characters are always better than one? I personally can't wait to see what happens next since I highly doubt this drama is going to disappoint.

Gap Dong Episode 13 - Do I Hear Wedding Bells?

We have officially traveled to the halfway point in this drama as we find out who the original Gap Dong is, and having reached episode 13 it should all be downhill from here.  And I hope that it is not a literal downhill in writing since the writers seem to have finally found their groove.  More plot movement for the men, and we get to pretend the women are barely there.  Let's hope they continue on this vein since otherwise I suspect we will be back to the horrible acid induced plot lines from a few episodes ago.

The above paragraph is what I wrote before actually watching episode 13.  I should have known better than to tempt fate since yet again, the writers pulled out some crazy plot twists mixed in with some truly amazing scenes.  I kind of wonder if the writer or writers are bipolar since whoever writes for the villains (detective Gap Dong and Tae Oh) do an amazing job, but when it comes to the writing for the female characters (and any interaction between Moo Yeom and the female characters) the plot gets weird and awkward very very quickly.  Is it the acting (I swear if I have to hear Ma Ji-Wool's horrible fake cry again I will scream) or is it the writing?  It truly is hard to tell where the blame should go and all I know is that somewhere the concept gets warped.  I can appreciate the concept since you can see what the director and writers are going for, but then I just wince at the final results that somewhere took a wrong turn.  But since I am blogging I must carry on and try to make sense of what is occurring, or at the very least mock the stupidity of the plot.  So prepare yourselves for some mocking, because there were some really stupid moments.

WARNING:::  Having some serious writers block for this episode so if everything is not as themed and cohesive as usual please forgive me.  Trying to get this out between soccer games and screaming children today and it has thrown off my groove.

We finally get the big reveal of who the original Gap Dong was, and I could not be happier.  All the scenes with Detective Gap Dong (I know he has a name, but this is easier) take on a new sinister edge.  And I can't wait to find out why he stopped killing.  It is the last big mystery of the drama.  Also is something going to trigger him to make him come out of retirement?  My personal guess is that he gets so grossed out by Dr Maria and Moo Yeom relationship that it forces him to go on a new murderous rampage. 

Wanting to get Tae Oh convicted as soon as possible and get beyond the whole "search for the real Gap Dong" idea floating around the precinct, Detective Gap Dong tries to streamline things as much as possible. Unfortunately for him Moo Yeom and Chul-Gon are just not cooperating.  Refusing to give up on the search they continue to investigate the previous murders.  The case heats up yet again as a new body is discovered and they dig into the possible identification and connections to Gap Dong.  Detective Gap Dong wavers between a feeling of superiority over his fellow cops (LOVED the "you are my role model" scene with Moo Yeom.  That smirk and glint in his eye was masterfully done) and unease at the thought of a continued search for Gap Dong. 

Tae Oh has had a move in his character's development for the worse.  Don't get me wrong, Lee Joon is still killing it with his portrayal of our copycat murderer.  But the fight has gone out of him, and instead of the genius mastermind killer, we are forced to watch him fall apart into self reflection and despair.  Occasionally he pops out of it but mostly he just bemoans the fact that there is no solution to his killing urges.  This part is interesting in that, the writers tried so hard to let us know that he is a psychopath with no emotions past the urge to kill (seriously, the concept was drilled into our brains by every character in the show), so why now is he sad, reflective, and expressing emotions of regret?  

It just feels a bit off.  I keep expecting him to have some type of master plan to escape and begin his killing spree anew.  Just for my sanity's sake, I am going to keep living in my dream world and pretend that he does indeed have a brilliant plan that will get him out ASAP.   
 
One of my favorite twists in this drama is the fact that Tae Oh has the #1 enabling mama that I have ever witnessed in a kdrama.  When she first entered the series I thought she was terrified of her son, but it turns out she goes to extreme lengths to keep him out of trouble.  

Discussing with her lawyer on how to keep Tae Oh out of prison (even though he confessed to 7 murders) they come upon the decision to declare that he was affected by Affluenza.  For those like myself who had no clue what this was, Affluenza is a mental disorder where you are so wealthy that you become desensitized to real emotions.  And to add to their defense she offers Ji-Wool an insane amount of money to marry Tae Oh (Yes, you read right.  Marry Him???).  WTH???  How does her marrying him really help?  And what kind of crazy defense is that?  Even Tae Oh laughs and seems amused at his mom's big plan.  

Is it wrong to actually be hoping she accepts just because it would make my future blog mocking moments so much easier.  This drama plot point is so odd/horrible/acid induced, that it deserves it's very own Facewall and possibly the award for biggest WTH moment of the whole drama.

Moo Yeom is in full speed when it comes to identifying those old remains that he for some reason thinks is a Gap Dong murder.  He begins to plaster photos of missing women all over precinct walls, including around a love letter that was posted up on one of the kill boards, with a big question mark on who it belonged to (it was in an old book belonging to Detective Gap Dong and indicates his involvement).  

I have several questions to ask in regards to this note in between eye rolls. Such as, What police station keeps a love letter on the kill board when it is unknown whose it is.  Why would a person even suspect that it was someone in the precincts love letter when you work in a busy building and so said letter was found unattended on the ground.  A normal person would have just called it junk and chucked it away.  Who gives a flying fig about whose letter it is enough to go through security tapes to identify who dropped the letter in the first place?  Is there no crime in this town?  I know that they are hinging a lot around this "letter" for the eventual discovery on who the original Gap Dong is, but the whole thing is so nonsensical that it borders on stupid.  Not to mention that the only thing more embarrassing than being outed as a serial killer by trashed love letter would be being outed by Dr Maria.

Talking about Dr Maria, she of course has been up to her usual annoying brooding and obsessing that has driven us crazy for the last thirteen episodes.  It is getting to the point where the sound of her voice and the sight of her overly large eyes is starting to make me sick.  Tae Oh begs to see Dr Maria again since she promised him she would visit if he asked.  But instead of professional Dr Maria, Vixen Maria arrives and taunts Tae Oh over his imprisonment.  

Let's ignore the fact that it is ethically wrong to emotionally taunt your mentally unbalanced patient.  It is also just really stupid.  The man has killed 7+ people and probably should not be taken so lightly.  Obviously on an emotional high Vixen Maria goes to the scene of her BFF's murder.  As she walks down the deserted path, you almost expect the killer to jump out and attack her.  But instead of the killer, Moo Yeom startles her, forcing her to go into full killer ninja mode and she takes him down.  Upon seeing that it is not the killer, she breaks down and says that she will be strong and now she can recall the killers face.   

Hmmmm, color me skeptical that a girl who tasered herself and froze last time she was attacked, could suddenly learn such intense self defense moves.  There is only one possible conclusion we can make from this..........She is part of the Matrix and just learned Kung Foo.

At the conclusion of episode 13 I made up a list of things I want to see happen in the upcoming episodes.  Figured it could not hurt to put the idea's out there into the universe, maybe we will get lucky and some of them will actually happen.  

My wishes are as follows:
#1 More Tae Oh.  And lets clarify, we want the scary Tae Oh.  Not the emotionally needy convict but the scary killer.  The writers really need to give him back his edge... What happened Tae Oh, you used to be scary.

#2 Meeting of the psychopathic mind.  It does not seem like Detective Gap Dong is that interested in having a protege.  But since this is my wish list I am asking that he and Tae Oh team up somehow since two talented serial killers is better than one.

#3 More nunchucks!  I am still hoping for a take down by nunchuck scene.  That would be awesome.
 

#4 I want to see the stupid girl marry Tae Oh because that would truly be the crazy cherry on the sundae of stupidity. 

#5 The writers answer this question (has been driving me nuts for a couple of episodes now).  How did the fake loser Gap Dong know the whistled tune?  I don't think it was one of his signature signs that anyone other than the shows audience would have known, so how did he learn it? 
Hopefully all our wishes and questions will be answered in the upcoming episodes.  Until then  I will just continue to try and wrap my head around the whole wedding plan-insanity because of wealth plea and continue on.  Thanks to everyone who suffered through my writers block induced recap and I hope it was not too rambling for you all.
