Jumping In

Daaaannngg... I've been seriously slacking here on the old blogosphere.  I won't even point out that our fabulous KMuse has posted *cough cough* nine *cough* posts since my last one.  Sorry I've been so silent lately.  You totally missed me, right?  Yeah.... ;)

Okay, so I've had something like a million thoughts rolling around as to what to talk about.  Honestly, even at this point as I sit here and type I don't have it all quite nailed down, I just have really missed talking with you all and felt I should write something, so here I am...writing something.  First I should start off by wishing you all a very happy new year.  Can you believe it is 2014 already???  I sure can't.  That just blew by lightning fast.  I hope you all enjoyed your festivities of the holiday season in safety and health.  I got to spend the last two days of 2013 hanging out with 6 Koreans and my family at the Grand Canyon and it was FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC!  I don't know how those 6 Koreans felt hanging with us 4 weird Americans, but I hope we didn't weird them out too much.  I'm sure that's asking a lot, especially as four of them (all ranging in the ripe old ages of 12-18) had just literally landed on foreign soil, some for the first time ever, but hey...we tried to reign our oddness in a bit.  Oh, and I was officially called an "ahjumma" for the first time.  "Big Bang Ahjumma" to be more concise (I of course balked at this and asked to be "Big Bang Noona" instead - I mean, duh ;))  I should have used that moment to open up and pass out a Crazy Ahjumma business card or two, but shyeah, that wasn't going to happen.  They don't need to know the extent of my "uniqueness" quite yet.  We still have a California trip coming up with them in a few weeks after all. heehee *wink*

Now, dramas.  With all the hubbub (aka The Husband being home and not at work for two weeks) of the holidays, my drama watching took a serious and severe nosedive.  I still managed to finish a couple of them in there though, like School 2013 (yeah, I so needed some serious Woo Bin time after Heirs ended) and Reply 1994.  I've wanted to come on here and say a bit about Reply 1994, but I haven't calmed down enough to be fully coherent and comprehensible yet.  Soon.  Soon.  I'm almost there.  Just a bit more time.  Once our two week winter break is over, maybe I'll be able to put down all my feelings and thoughts on that one.  Another victim of my drama drought has been new dramas.  I haven't been following what's new in the world of drama very well.  One finally did manage to catch my attention just from all the buzz I've encountered in my day-to-day wanderings in the cyber world - My Love From Another Star (or whatever you want to call it).  My friends that are watching it are raving about it, then I saw this morning how their ratings are sky high, so I decided to give it a try.  I'm one whole episode in, but I think I'm going to like this one.  I fell for it within the first 4 minutes to be honest.  And so, I've decided, it's going to be my next drama I review.  {{{insert dramatic trumpet fanfare here}}}  I hate to start reviewing one that is already so far in and that I'm so behind on, but I'm going to see what I can do with it.  Now that I've put it out there, I'm all nervous about the monumental task ahead.  I was excited.  Well, we'll just see how it goes.  It's going to be several more days for me to iron it all out, but I'll get working on it and will hopefully have something to bring to you soon.

And with that, I am afraid my time here is up.  The Husband just got home from washing the dog and we are heading out for a romantic Korean lunch for two.  I wanted to leave you with a little something that I came across earlier.  I don't know how I missed this before.  I had watched a few of the videos from the SBS Gayo Daejun on the 29th.  I thought I had seen all of GD and Taeyang's performances and was left sad because Ringa Linga hadn't been done.  I don't know if it was just the video I saw earlier or if I was asleep or what, but this morning I found it!  They did do Ringa Linga!  And it was awesome and I was happy and so I wanted to share it, and some of the other Gayo Daejun videos with you in case you haven't seen them either.  Enjoy the music and have a wonderful day!  I'll be back soon.  Ready or not, here I come!  ;)
