Answering the Question: What Should I Watch Next?

Now that I am having to keep up with recapping two dramas, my Weekly Top 5 Countdown, and my Fashion Fails, it has been a while since I have been able to get back to what I truly love,  giving less known drama suggestions to other kenthusiasts.  There is nothing more satisfying than suggesting a hidden or less known drama to someone who is searching for something new to watch.  So I decided to take a few moments and jot down some of my favorite current airing dramas and then past dramas that I think have a similar feel or concept.
If You Like Gap Dong:
You might want to give an awesome (and less well known drama) White Christmas a try.
Starring: Kim Woo Bin, Sung Joon, Lee Soo Hyuk, Baek Sung Hyun
White Christmas is what I think Gap Dong was going for in concept before all the crazy writing twists and bad female characters interfered.  What happens when a normal person is put into the situation where they can do unspeakable things.  Or as White Christmas's psycho puts it, "are killers born, or are they created?"
SYNOPSIS:
This is my go to drama when I want something well written and super suspenseful.   This drama takes us to Susin High School, nicknamed "Prison High,"  it is an elite school attended by the top 1% of students in the country.  Stuck in the middle of the mountains with no outside influences the only thing that the students do is study and wait for Christmas break to leave for a week to visit their families.  This Christmas 7 students and a teacher remain and are confronted  with a killer among them who is interested in finding out if monsters are created, or if they are born.  With one of the best up and coming cast of young actors, it is an amazing drama that feels reminiscent of a good Agatha Christie murder mystery.
White Christmas Trailer

If You Like Hotel King:
You might enjoy "Scandal: A Shocking and Wrongful Incident"
Starring: Kim Jae Won, Ki Tae Young, Jo Jae Hyeon, Park Jung Chul
This has a similar storyline involving revenge against fathers and birth secrets.  Superbly acted by all the men in the drama (females were just kind of there as plot movers) it is one that truly pushed my emotional buttons.
Synopsis:
Devastated and feeling wronged for the death of his son, Ha Myeong Geun kidnaps Eun Joong and when he comes to his senses and tries to return him, he finds another child substituted in as the kidnapped heir.  Eun Joong is raised by his "adopted father" with a steadfast idea of right and wrong (ironic isn't it), and grew up to be a policeman.  Shocked to find out the truth that the father he loved so much was actually his kidnapper he decides on what his idea of family is and comes to terms with the horrible actions of both his kidnapper father and real father.
Scandal Trailer

If you like Witch's Romance:
You Might Enjoy I Need Romance 3
Starring: Sung Joon, Kim So Yeon
I know that INR3 is not really an old drama, but when I was thinking of which drama felt the most similar, this is the one that comes to mind.  If you want some suggestions for other older woman/younger man themed romances feel free to check out this old blog post of mine with other noona drama suggestions
http://thecrazyahjummas.blogspot.com/2014/03/flashback-friday-noona-edition.html
Synopsis:
Shin Joo Yeon is a 33-year-old fashion marketing director at a home shopping channel company. She's developed a tough prickly outer shell in order to succeed in the workplace, and has almost given up on the idea of true love after countless failures in the relationship department. Joo Wan is a 26-year-old songwriter and carefree spirit who returns to Korea after seventeen years living abroad. Up until the age of 9, he was practically raised by his mom's friend and her daughter, Shin Joo Yeon. She only remembers him as a kid she was forced to play with him when her mom was busy, while all his early memories from bath time, to play time, to learning how to tie his shoe, include her. Upon meeting again, he aims to heal Joo Yeon's jaded sense of romance (synopsis from MDL).

I Need Romance 3 Episode 16 - Finale

It's official, we have reached the finale episode of this kdrama journey!  I have to admit that although I really enjoyed this show, and Sweet Potato might have achieved a spot on my "fantasy ideal man list", I am still happy to bid this drama goodbye.  On to new and bigger things.... or at least different.

So.........I am not really sure how to wrap up my blog posts for this episode.  There is not so much plot movement as much as just daily situations and individually cute moments between all the characters.  So in an effort to keep this short and sweet I decided to just go through the couples and let you know where they all ended up (and a few thoughts about their situations along the way).  So I will go from least favorite to favorite as we say goodbye to our Fashion Squad and OTP.

Maknae Couple (Hee Jae & Woo Young)
By far my least favorite couple of the show (seriously how did they even beat out the cold couple as least favorite).  Their romance was kind of boring and Hee Jae's personality just grated on my nerves. And unfortunately for us we watched way way too much of their story in the final two episodes.  We also got to witness that her selfishness was not contained to only one relationship but moved with her to her next one.  At that point I am pretty sure that we can conclude that it is not the men, but her that is the problem.
She decides that she has been so obsessed with preparing for her future financially that she has lost her present.  So she informs Woo Young via a call in radio talk show (Joo Wan's talk show) that she is taking all of her money and going to travel abroad for a year to "find herself".   Wow, that is one sincere way to let your boyfriend know that you are leaving him.  Of course she does not break up with him first, but expects him to wait it out.  SIGH....  Hey annoying girl, if you can't find yourself, then going to America and eating a hot dog is not going to help you find enlightenment.

Cold Couple (Tae Yoon & Se Ryung)
So of course both of these characters have been redeemed more or less.  And while I don't mind Se Ryung that much (but seriously I would not want to be her bestie........way too much drama) Tae Yoon continues to be on my hit list.  I don't care if they tried to start explaining his actions away  and he suddenly saw the light about Min Jung's pregnancy/work situation.  He is still a jerk and I just don't like him.  (I am seriously hoping that his character has not ruined the actor for me since he has already landed the lead in an upcoming weekend drama.)  In the end he gets promoted and heads to Hong Kong for work.  Se Ryung meets him at the airport and gives him back his necklace, but makes it clear that she will be waiting for him when he comes back and is ready to give their relationship another go.  I can't decide if I want these two to end up together just so they don't ruin anyone else's lives with their dysfunctional love, or remain apart and not doubling their evilness as a couple.  In the end, I just don't care and hope to never have to see either character again.

Cute Preggers Couple (Min Seok & Min Jung)
I consider this couple as the perfect example of a side character relationship.   I was involved in their story, I found them very charming, and at the end I was happy for them to get their own happy ending without being tired of them.  If you recall we ended their story in episode 15 with Min Seok finding out that he was not only going to be a father but a father of twins.  He start to totally lose it when he finds that every time he drinks he goes binge shopping for baby supplies, including a double stroller for his twins.  Seriously how cute is this guy.  He throws in the towel and Min Jung tells him that he should continue to live next door and they can raise the kids together.  She is not interested in marriage, nor is he, but that it only makes sense for them to co-raise the kids.  She also tells Min Seok that if he get's too overwhelmed and needs to leave at any time, she will not hold on to him.  This seems to calm our poor father to be down.  We finish the show seeing them preparing for their family.  Each giving the other a kiss on the cheek and saying "I love you" to the other behind the premise of saying it to the babies.  I of course have this fantasy that they have a long and happy life together as a couple, regardless of their married status.

Our OTP!!! (Shing Shing & Sweet Potato)
For those of you that were worried that our sweet couple would have some last minute problems, let me put your fears to rest.  All we get is a lot of cute couple power plays that were pretty tame and sweet.  Instead of bringing up all the possible problems that could occur between the couple, the writers chose instead to show them easily overcoming the curve balls life can throw.
There were so many cute scenes between them I decided to just choose my top 3 of the episode, so if you have not followed the show, be sure to check out the finale at least.  There is so much cuteness that I was not able to cover, not to mention some steamy scenes between the main couple.

#3 Crap My Boyfriend is Famous
I love how Joo Wan's fame never really came into the story before now.  It is great how she loves him without figuring out if their finances and levels in society match.  So it is a complete shock when Joo Yeon is faced with the reality that her boyfriend has groupies.  Seems that his live video broadcasts are watched by scores of female fans who are all a twitter of his sexy voice and good looks.  Joo Yeon watches the latest video in where two female idols admit that he is their ideal type.  But no worries, since Joo Wan smoothly brings his girlfriend into the conversation and even gives her a I love you shout out over the airwaves.
#2 Relationships are Like Home Shopping
I never realized what kind of drawbacks there would be in a relationship going backwards.  Joo Wan moves back in, which you would think is a good thing, however now they have the problem of who has the upper hand in the relationship.  I have to admit I don't understand why there would still be a problem about initiating sex since they had already passed that point at his hotel room but I guess I am looking at it differently.  Now that they are living together again Joo Yeon is trying to figure out how to invite him to sleep with her without losing the upper ground and looking too easy.  She decides to put all of her extensive knowledge of home shopping to use by using marketing ideas to get Joo Wan to come to her.  She plays hard to get, gives him a time limit, and even offers a free bonus (which is hilariously a face to face with the giraffe doll).  Joo Wan, wise to her sneaky ways, eventually goes to her room to receive his free gift, but lets her know that all of this is not needed.  Just be honest and direct, if you want to sleep with me just let me know.  And of course this results into some sexy kissing time etc, etc.
#1 Playing Hard to Get can Backfire
Taking him at his word Joo Yeon informs Joo Wan that she will be sleeping in his room tonight, he decides to be all cute (and totally ditch his rule) and tells her that he does not feel like it tonight.  LOL  She puts his resolve to the test when she drops her robe, wearing a slinky slip underneath.  Pushing him up against the wall she takes advantage of him with a bunch of sexy slow kisses.  To say he crumbles like a tower made out of sand, is an understatement.  Not even lasting a minute, he grabs her and drags her into their room.
Again, if you want to really get the full effect of their cute coupleness be sure to watch the last episode.  I really enjoyed that they made the couple stronger together and  really let the cuteness and love for each other burst forth rather then trying to turn it into a more adult relationship.  I am happy with the ending of the drama, and with the drama as a whole.  I have thoroughly fallen for Sung Joon and am just thankful that I am married and none of my relationships have to live up to his ideal boyfriend behavior.
As of right now I have not chosen a new drama to review, but I am sure I will be back with weekly recaps soon since there are so many amazing dramas starting.  But never fear I will be working hard on my weekly kdrama countdown, as well as some more throwback thursday reviews, and several new drama overview recaps.  Thank you to everyone that joined me on this journey and I hope you tune in for my future posts.

Sincerely,
Kmuse

I Need Romance 3 Episode 15 - New Beginnings

I am just going to throw the thought out there that this episode (and I suspect episode 16) could easily have been condensed into one episode.  It is not that we don't get plot movement, we do, but a lot of it feels like filler and really when it comes down to it, I could care less about the youngest couple.  They bore me to tears and I always get the urge to FF.
I was totally expecting her to rush into Sweet Potato's arms the second she dumped the jerk.  How could she not?  She finally had realized her feelings and everything was going to be smooth sailing from here.  Right?   In true Joo Yeon fashion, everything did not move that quickly.  Can I just say that that girl is slower than a herd of snails traveling through peanut butter.  Seriously what is to debate, go and get your man.  BALLI!  BALLI!  But nope, we get a bunch more inner monologue about relationships and why they don't work, blah blah blah.  I know that I should be marveling at how insightful she suddenly is about love and relationships, but when there is a cute suffering Joo Wan impatiently waiting for her confession, I just really don't care.
Joo Yeon explains (via more monologue) that she is worried of losing him if they official start dating because of all the problems that are facing them.  The age difference, their mothers, is this leading towards marriage?  I personally would have bought her issues if they had come up AT ALL in the last fourteen episodes, but with the exception of the age (which was only a problem after she found out he was Sweet Potato) all of the usual kdrama relationship issues have been pretty mute.  However, she slowly, so ever slowly, overcomes her urge to flee and text's Joo Wan's radio show to test the waters.  I love how she starts out really vague.  She asks (as an anonymous caller) “If I send the man I lived with a text that says, ‘I cleaned your room,’ will he come back?” Wan responds: “See here, Caller 5061, how bad must things have been for him to move out of the house?"  She goes farther and asks if the fact that she watered his plants would sway him?  Followed by I miss his soup and I sleep in his empty room alone every night.  LOL  She does everything in her power to lure him home without having to say the dread "L" word.  But Joo Wan stays strong and refuses to come back until she makes some efforts in wooing him.  That and actually admitting that she loves him.

Let's take a quick switch of characters and focus in on our favorite parents to be.  Through the whole drama I have just loved these two.  They are so clueless yet sincere that it is impossible not to love them (see maknae couple, this is how you do a good side character relationship).  We watch as Min Seok goes into serious fake daddy mode as Min Jung watches him via CCTV.  He is so serious about changing the baby and feeding it that I just fall in love with him.  He even takes it to the grocery store in a stroller which appalls Min Jung who scream whispers "its a fake baby".  He just complains that she was supposed to come pick it up but was late so of course he had to take it to the store with him.  HEHEHE  He then continues to follow her and berate her over the shoddy care of the "baby" since people could come and take it easily without her realizing it.
At home he again asks her how she thinks she is going to be raising this baby well.  She has no family to help and is all alone.  Min Jung replies that she intends to hire an ahjumma, and that if he is really that worried why does he not just stay living next door to supervise her.  He does not have to marry her, but stop nagging if he is concerned.  HAHA  He replies that he did not want to say this but maybe she should reconsider the whole abortion thing since she is just not mommy material.  She just snipes back "I really did not want to concern you with this, but guess what it's twins."  She totally wins the argument by default since I am pretty sure that Min Seok swoons.
Back with our OTP Joo Yeon is yet again dragging her feet towards officially confessing.  At least this time she has made it as far as his hotel, where she sits in her car freaking out.  Of course it is at that moment that Joo Wan drives up and she promptly ducks inside her car.  He rolls his eyes as he passes and sends her a text asking if she thinks he does not recognize her car.  He also gives her an ultimatum that she has to come up or they are done.  She slowly drags herself forward, box of laundry in hand.  She hands it to him and he asks if this is why she came.  She nodded her head and he closes the door in her face. HAHA  Behind the closed door poor Joo Wan is telling himself to stay strong and smiles as she rings the doorbell again.  He answers and puts his leg up barring her entrance.  Joo Yeon begs him to come back home and they can talk things over then.  He just asks why she can't admit that she loves him.  Joo Wan: “If you’re a woman who realizes the truth but still can’t strike up the courage to take the first step, then what does it matter if I move mountains on my own?”  Poor Joo Yeon just can't take that extra step and slinks away.
She goes home to find that the heater has broken and she promptly texts Joo Wan asking about how to start the coal fireplace in his room.  He starts obsessing about her dying from carbon monoxide poisoning and quickly races home only to find her gone and at the local spa.  He, being the cutie that he is, follows her and they play a game of he chases her while she ignores him that end with them spooning on the spa's floor.  AWWW...  He tells her that he will give her another chance to confess this weekend but she better do it right this time.

This time a more determined Joo Yeon arrives at his door and as he opens it she smiles widely and says "I love you".  It is so cute how he makes he say it several more times after which he kisses her.  Total swoon worthy moment.  I am just getting all happy when the stupid director cuts away from the kiss to tell us what is happening with the boring vanilla Maknae couple.  Who the heck cares.  They are throwaway characters anyway and I demand that we get back to the OTP.  Bleck they annoy me.
We FINALLY get back to our favorite couple after they have slept together.  Both are beaming at each other and it is just so adorably sweet.  And can I just say that Joo Wan has one sexy bedroom voice.  But then things start to go in a more normal relationship manner as the glow wears off and they instantly start bickering.  Seems she likes men to be more reserved and he loves huge celebrations of love.  He likes cutesy girls, and she is not that at all.  They just look at each other and sigh.  "We sure are going to fight a lot" Joo Wan tells her.  And in her head she thinks about how it sucks that dating hell has started again.
My Thoughts:
For a drama that began with a roar this drama sure is going out on a very mellow note.  For the most part this episode was angst free and very predictable.  If anything surprised me at all it would be that Joo Wan made Joo Yeon work a little harder then I was expecting but by the end everyone was right where I expected them to be.

Sincerely,
Kmuse

Top 5 Kdrama Countdown - February Week 4

So I would just like to apologize to all my viewers who were driven crazy by the fact that I had skipped a month in my last three blog posts.  In all the titles I stated it was March instead of February.  Ooops.  The only excuse I have is that my birthday is in March and so I must have really really been looking forward to it and skipped February all together.  I have since gone and fixed all the posts and am feeling very very absent minded.   I don't know why, but I have no problems keeping track of 17 different dramas cast, airing times, subbing locations, plot lines, and all.  But ask me what month it is and I am sure to get it wrong half of the time.  Priorities Kmuse, priorities - face palm to head.

Song of the Week
Kim Soo Hyun - "In Front of Your House"
My Love From Another Star OST
I decided to add a favorite song of the week to the top 5 countdown.  Usually there is some OST (Official Sound Track) that I play over and over again or there is a really great kpop release that deserves a mention.  This weeks, and our first ever, song of the week is brought to us from the My Love From Another Star OST.  Towards the last fourth of the drama, they introduced us to this song sung by the leading man himself Kim Soo Hyun.  Many of you are aware of his amazing singing ability from Dream High, but for those of you who are not, be sure to check him out!

#5 Accidental Meeting in the Rain
Usually I don't add this drama into my countdown.  Part of the reason is that this is the drama I am currently recapping every week, but also since the majority of the drama is very subtle and slow moving so there are not often those WOW scenes that I love to put in the countdown.  But congrats to INR3 pulling out all my emotions right before the finale with this amazing scene.
Joo Yeon starts walking home but gets caught in a sudden rain storm and runs to a pavilion in the park to avoid the downpour.  Joo Wan, having given up and come back to see her also ends up in the same pavilion and she assumes he is just another hallucination. (for those of you not following this drama he moved out of her house and she is constantly having visions of him in her life still)  "Get lost I don't want to be considered a crazy person talking to myself."  Joo Wan tells her " I am the same, I close my eyes and see you, I open my eyes and see you."  Joo Yeon gets snippy and says that they were not even dating when he yells "We were dating. What we did is what normal women call dating."  He starts to stalk off but comes right back telling her that he is so angry with her and angry that he can't walk away because he can see that she is sick.  And while he does not care AT ALL, he is going to stay with her til the rain clears and then he is gone.
This is a great scene depicting the push and pull of a relationship.  Can't wait to watch the final two episodes this week.

#4 The Hand Under the Freaking Bed!
Our #4 moment comes from the drama Let's Eat, known for its cute food porn moments and quirky characters.  But can we leave all the sweet and happy behind for a second and talk about the creepy hand under the bed?  This show has done an amazing job of mixing lighthearted romance and situations with the sinister serial killer creepiness to the point that you totally forget about the bad guys until BANG.................. A hand is shown under one of the characters bed!  In episode 14 we get the resolution to the local serial killer (in his own right is creepy as heck) who is caught by the police so we the viewers assume that it is easy sailing for the last two episodes.  I am all ready to fall in love with our OTP and have everyone wrapped up in a pretty pink bow of happiness.  But just when you think it is safe to live by yourself we see the cute next door neighbor girl leaving her apartment with packages in hand, and then DUN DUN DUN (imagine sinister music) the camera pans towards the side of her bed and we see a human hand slowly move out from under the bed.  What the HECK drama, you gave me nightmares.  I was home alone by myself and could not get to sleep til 4 am because of this scene.  So kudos to you for scaring the bajeebies out of me.
I could not find a clip for "the hand" so you guys get to enjoy the creepiness of serial killer boy.  Love how crazy this actor made his eyes look.  And his sing song speech gave me the chills.

Serial Killer Clip

#3 Act Like A Lady
YAY! We have a new drama making it's debut on our countdown this week.  When I started watching Bride of The Century I have to admit that I was not expecting much.  The trailers and synopsis had been slightly vague and confusing with talks of ghosts, look a likes, and curses.  But after watching episode 2 I am now a firm fan and have been waiting impatiently for the next episodes.  The two main characters played by Lee Hong-Ki (You're Beautiful - this drama might even break my need to call this actor Jeremy every time I see him) and Yang Jin-Sung (smaller characters in She Is Wow, City Hunter) have great chemistry.  And while I don't see this drama being one that reinvents the genre, I still feel very happy when I watch it.  My favorite running concept so far is how Na Doo-Rim (pretending to be her rich doppelganger) continues to let her lady persona slip in front of her "fiancee" his reaction to it.   Don't know why but I just can't get enough of it.
My favorite moment so far is when she invades his bedroom, plays with his toys, and is caught by her having a sword fight by her fiance.  Then when he tries to get frisky with her she literally causes him physical pain.  Every time he gets his "what the heck are you" look on his face I just crack up.
My new favorite couple clip

#2 A Father's Regret
For those of you watching King's Daughter Soo Baek Hyang you know that this is by far one of the best Sageuk (historical) dramas ever made in the genre.  If you have not started watching this for whatever reason, then you should suck it up and start.  IT IS AMAZING!  97 episodes in and it continues to just get better and better.  In episode 95 we see King Muryeong have to deal with the consequences of his actions when his "real" son is found to have murdered his true love in a misguided act of revenge.

OK QUICK PLOT DESCRIPTION (the condensed version).  King Muryeong's cousin (the current king) is murdered and he is forced to take the throne.  Wanting to make sure his cousin's son eventually inherits the crown he switches him with his own son so that he can ensure the kingdom will go to the late kings son and not his.  He sends his own son to be raised by the faction of the leaders that are against him to ensure his sons safety.  Then he takes his cousins son and raises him as his own.  Needless to say this causes problems later on when his own son seeks revenge for the person he assumes is his father, therefore killing his "real" fathers epic love and causing everyone involved some serious pain.  Especially the King who finds out that when he thought his real son was happy living on the fringes of the court, he was really jealous and lonely causing him to betray the king.
I hope that made sense.  Anyway back to the current episode.  The king is forced to strip Prince Jin Moo of his title and is so angry he threatens to kill him.  Prince Jin Moo tells him to do it since then he can go to the afterlife with his father and no longer be lonely.  This of course destroys the King who was unaware his "real" son had such bitterness and pain within him.  What follows is one of the best scenes of the whole drama.

A Father's Regret Clip

#1 One Last Memorable Kiss
With the ending of My Love From Another Star, was there any question of it not receiving my #1 spot, we were left on a whirlwind of crying, crying, hope for a happy ending, and more crying.  And whether you liked the ending or not we were sure dragged along for the emotional ride.  The scene that stood out the most however was that "last" epic kiss.  There have been some great kisses in this series.  The time stood still kiss, the 15 sec kiss, the selfish kiss, but there was always something missing.  They were all beautifully done but there was just not that extra oomph of passion that I know these two actors can deliver.  So I was one happy camper when the final kiss was dramatic, intense, and passionate.  Not to mention I totally loved the fact that he continued to "out" himself on the red carpet in order to claim his girl.  Very romantic and made me so happy.

Red Carpet Kiss Clip

It has been such a great week for kdramas and  I apologize for the lateness of my countdown this week.  I was sick and had some vertigo problems and as I discovered, it is impossible to write a blog that makes any sense when everything is spinning.  But something good did come out of my forced bed rest.  I have found one doozy of a #1 for next week.  It is a kiss that stands out among kisses and I bet that most of you have not even started the show yet.  So be sure to check back next week to find out what drama/kiss I am talking about and see what other four scenes make it onto my top 5!

Sincerely,
Kmuse

I Need Romance 3 Episode 14: Wait for it................wait for it...................COMPREHENSION!!!!!!!

This was a great episode since we finally see our heroine be proactive after a lot of "crazy" behavior.  And by crazy I do not mean the acting willy nilly in funny manners, but crazy as in seeing "audio and visual hallucinations".  HAHA  that was my favorite line of the whole show I think.  Of course one does not accept the reason for ones insanity easily.  Especially if you are the #1 dense in denial damsel that we see in this drama.
Remember that we left off with our Joo Wan laying one heck of a sexy, non brother like kiss on Joo Yeon as a goodbye.  Unaware that she is now a woman, living alone, she walks into the apartment musing over his kiss.  Then recalling her ultimatum that she would kick him out if he ever crossed the friend line again (and his weird comments pre-kiss) she rushes up to his room to find everything gone.  I have to admit that I also was a little emotional to see that room minus all of Sweet Potato's belongings.   She stands in the middle of the room holding back her emotions and gripping her hands tight.  We then get a voice over saying how she was post Sweet Potato, “But I was fine. I didn’t cry. I didn’t drink. And my life flowed along without change.”  She tells herself that she was not even dating Wan so there is no reason for her to be upset or cry.  But when she walks up the steps she does admit that the only weird thing is that she occasionally will hear him and have audio hallucinations.  Oh, and visual hallucinations as well.  But other then that she is fine.  Really really really (insert sob) fine.
Things are going slightly better for our Fashion Squad bestie and her impending pregnancy.  Upbeat and looking towards the future, Min Jung is doing the best with her tough situation.  Especially when she finds out that her one baby is instead actually twins.  When Min Seok comes knocking on her door, beyond drunk and clutching a large wrapped package.  When she tries to take it from him he yells not to touch it, that it is his baby.  Hahaha there is something about him that is just so adorable.  When he awakes the next morning, hangover and all, he explains that he is going to be a horrible father.  But from what he has observed she is not going to be that great of a mother either, so they are going to practice with a test baby.  He goes on to explain that he will have it during the day while she works and she will watch the baby in the night.  Min Seok even goes to the point where he is installing camera's in each others home so they can monitor their fake baby/parenting.  She just smiles and agrees to the test, thinking to herself that she will keep the secret of the twins til later since he is already about to bolt.
There is something so sad yet oddly touching with all of Joo Yeon's hallucinations.  She constantly does things that Joo Wan would nag her about just so she could imagine that he is there.  Yet her fantasy Sweet Potato always disappears, leaving her more and more upset.  It finally gets to the point where she is just collapsing upstairs in his room, minus heat, making herself ill with despair.  We see Joo Wan show up to chide her for letting herself become this ill and she leans toward him saying “You weren’t here before. I was fine on my own before. My body hurts. My heart hurts.” and he disappears again.
Joo Yeon walks to the local pharmacy to get some medication "to help her sleep and forget" ......oh and because she is also sick, when she receives a call from Tae Yoon.  He says he will make the effort to come see her since she is not feeling well but she is obviously not really interested in his visit and tries to deter him.  Joo Yeon starts walking home but gets caught in a sudden rain storm and runs to a pavilion in the park to avoid the downpour.  Joo Wan, having given up and come back to see her also ends up in the same pavilion and she assumes he is just another hallucination.  "Get lost I don't want to be considered a crazy person talking to myself."  Joo Wan tells her " I am the same, I close my eyes and see you, I open my eyes and see you."  Realizing that he is real her eyes pop out, but she quickly returns to her snappy roots when he says this is how it should be when you love someone.  She quickly denies liking him and tells him to come get his stuff from her house (some laundry).  He tells her to get rid of it or keep it he does not care.  When Joo Yeon claims that it was not like they were dating so why would she keep it, he can not contain his cool anymore and bursts out "We were dating. What we did is what normal women call dating."  He starts to stalk off but comes right back telling her that he is so angry with her and angry that he can't walk away because he can see that she is sick.  And while he does not care AT ALL, he is going to stay with her til the rain clears and then he is gone.
Standing side by side in silence both are so happy just to be next to each other that it is just so sad to know they are not officially "together".  Joo Yeon receives a call from the jerk and Joo Wan begs her not to take it.  I am all ready to be annoyed by her rejecting him (yet again) when she turns the phone over and actually takes the battery out.  I have to admit that this is one of the few times I was not totally rolling my eyes at the whole battery out of the phone move.  I loved that she wanted to be with Sweet Potato and not have her boyfriend interfere.  They continue to soak in each others presence but eventually Sweet Potato turns and tells her that this is the last time he will come looking for her.  She needs to decide what she feels and come find him if that is where her heart leads.  He walks off into the rain looking so sad.
Luckily for us the writers did not decide to leave us in suspense long (probably since there are only two episodes left).   After a loveless and very awkward dinner with Tae Yoon, our heroine returns home to her empty house.  This time she decides to actually listen to the CD that Joo Wan had left her.  As she listens, her emotions FINALLY break through and she cries and cries and cries some more.  Rushing out of the house she calls Se Ryung and asks for Joo Wan's info and as she drives, to what I am assuming is Joo Wan's, she continues to cry.  We see her knock on a door (hmmm not a hotel door) and "the jerk" emerges.  Just when I am concerned she is not going to break up with him she tells him that they are done.  That she wants to believe in a love that you would die without.
My Thoughts:
I actually really enjoyed this episode.  Yes, it was a bit slow and yes we did get hit over the head that she really really missed Joo Wan and was in deep denial.  But considering that is what we have been given for her character from episode 1, I consider it to actually stay really true to the character.  With as stubborn and prideful as she is I don't think I would accept it if she instantly did a full change in thought.  I like that she had to really suffer (yup karma kicked your butt for ignoring poor Sweet Potato) before she was ready to admit her real feelings.  I even like that she has progressed far enough that she did not need someone to tell her in simple words, what she was feeling.  Now I am ready for us to finally get to the action I have been waiting for.  She needs to go find Joo Wan IMMEDIATELY and make him happy.

We are on our last week!  I can't believe how fast this drama has gone by and how much I have enjoyed it.  With so many new dramas coming out I am still undecided on what my next drama to blog about.  It is so hard to make a decision because not only deciding will I like this drama, but also does it promote itself to my style of recapping.  Lets all admit that if I started recapping a 100 ep historical, you all might just ditch me in the dust from boredom.  So hopefully inspiration will strike soon and I can continue to provide the entertainment and information for all of you awesome kfans who follow me.  Until then please continue to check out my weekly kdrama countdown where I let you know the top scenes from the currently airing dramas (great way to find new dramas to add to your "to watch" list.) and I will also fill in some reviews of all the new dramas to help you make sense of the huge amount of new options.

Sincerely,
Kmuse
