Flower Boy Next Door the FINALE (ep 16): Dramatic Friday Review

And here we are.  The final review of Flower Boy Next Door.  :'(  *sniff sniff*  How are we feeling?  Are we ready to say goodbye to this one yet?  Well, ready or not, it's that time anyway.  Let's rip that proverbial bandaid off, jump in and enjoy one last moment with our characters before sending them off with a big thank you, full hearts and one final sugar rush of eye candy.

1.  One Year Later and an Anniversary

Okay, this one would qualify as an overused plot device in my opinion, but one that I just have to get used to and make my peace with.  What do I speak of?  The flash forward final episode.  Just when we are sitting there wondering how they're going to resolve everything that needs to be resolved in the final hour, they pull this device out on us.  The whole "xxx amount of time later" ploy.  Okay, whatever.  Annoying?  Yes.  Overused?  Uh huh.  Lazy way of wrapping things up?  Maybe sometimes.  But I'm not going to get any more in to it right now other than pointing it out so that in the future, if it doesn't already bug you right now, it most certainly will the next time it's glaring at you with its drama cliche-ness.  You're welcome. >:-}

We jump to the future - the year 2014.  We see Dok Mi working...at an office with other people!  Yay!  She's emerged from her hidey hole and is back out in the world kicking butt and taking names!  And looking mighty fab while doing it I must add.  Look at how gorg she is!  I love her hair like that.  And to see a smile on her face is like watching kittens frolic in a field of flowers on a bright, sunny day.  And what's this we see?  Lookie there!  It's Enrique's book and it's apparently doing well.  Well, good for him!  And for Dok Mi, editor extraordinaire.  When she walks out of work, guess who greets her.  Enrique?  Nope.  Jin Rak.  Whah?  They smile and start talking about a one year anniversary.  Double whah?  Ooh.  Tantalizing and oh so interesting.  What's the story?  Well, let's jump back and see for ourselves shall we?

2.  Schooling the Fanclub and Ending the Past

We go back to where we left off - the confrontation between Enrique and his out-of-control fan club.  He stands up for Dok Mi, points out that his dreams are not their dreams, and that right now, she is the most important priority in his life and his new dream.  He also confesses to loving her right then and there in front of the game addicts.  He scolds them for their slanderous ways and more or less tells them to get a life.
Enrique wasn't the only one confronting something at this meeting.  Dok Mi herself was confronting and finally dealing with the past.  The treatment she is receiving at the hands of Enrique's fans feels all too familiar to her.  But, instead of slipping back into her old ways, she confronts it head on.  She recognizes that if not for the challenges of her past, she wouldn't be where she is today.  Enrique wouldn't be in her life.  She embraces it for what it was - an opportunity to grow and finally puts the past trauma to rest and moves on emotionally.  Good for her!  I knew she could do it!  And this, this is why I was Team Enrique all along.  I knew he could help her get there.  She needed someone like him, not someone like her (i.e. Jin Rak).  As much as I adore Jin Rak and think that he's a fabulous guy, he wasn't going to be the one to help her in the way that she needed help.  Kudos to her for taking his hand and crawling out of her pit of despair.

3.  Goo-Goo Eyes

Enough of the serious drama stuff for a moment.  Let's spend some time with these two.  Jin Rak and Dong Hoon go to meet with their boss about changing the webtoon.  Dong Hoon and the boss start making goo-goo eyes at each other, which Jin Rak spots.

4.  A New Love Story

Jin Rak would like to end the Flower Boy Next Door webtoon.  He's moving on from his one-sided love, recognizing that he doesn't quite know what love is, and wanting to protect Dok Mi at the same time, who has come under fire for her involvement with him.  Instead, after seeing what is going on between his roommate and boss, he proposes a new love story about a hard-working guy and gal, both of which have a difficult time but are able to find love with each other.  They realize that JR is talking about them and both pause to ask the question, "are we in love?"  They then look at each other and it dawns on them, that, wow, yes, I guess we are.  So so so so so stinkin' cute!  I love these two so much!  They saved this drama when even the sheer amount of eye candy wasn't quite enough for some.

5.  Sorry Thank You Love

Dok Mi and Enrique are at the shore together, rekindling and building their relationship.  And finally communicating.  They start by playing a word game.  Enrique, after leaving Korea as a child, would play vocabulary-based word games with his mom in order to keep up on his Korean.  He and Dok Mi play one together that I'm going to call "Sorry, Thank You and Love".  They have to come up with sentences that properly use each of these phrases.  Dok Mi starts.  She's sorry for pushing him away, thankful to him for not giving up and for finding her.  And then comes the love part.  Enrique is desperately hoping and waiting for her to finally confess that she loves him, but she playfully instead credits him for helping her to love herself.

It's then his turn. He's sorry he didn't find her sooner, thankful that she has let him love her and then tells her straight out that he loves her.  It's such a sweet, tender romantic moment, sealed with a sweet, tender and romantic kiss on the forehead.  Melty!!!  Just a beautiful scene!

6.  Redemption of the Muppet Hunter

Do Hwi.  Oh Do Hwi.  What a character you have been.  Through most of this show I despised you.  I thought there was no redemption for what you put Dok Mi through.  Honestly though, now that we're here at the end, I must admit that I love what they did here with you.  You are redeemed, sort of.  I appreciate that it wasn't complete.  You were still wrong in the past, but you're making up for it now.  I can respect that.  As Dok Mi's name is being smeared online and things about the past are surfacing, Do Hwi goes on the defensive, standing up for Dok Mi and saying how all of the rumors from the past were false and how hurt she is by them and to please stop.  She shows remorse and a sense of conscience.  While not magically changed into a purely ideal person, she still manages to turn fairly decent.  My hat's off to her for coming around.  Hey, I have to give credit where credit is due.  We need to be willing to forgive, forget and move on.

7.  Serenade and Confession

We're back at the beach.  Night has fallen and Enrique and Dok Mi are sitting around the campfire.  Enrique serenades her with a love song.  This finally gets Dok Mi to confess.  She does so by showing him something that she created for him called "Her world".  She tells him how he has become her world.  Then she announces that she wants to do her "Sorry, Thank You, Love" turn over again.  She's sorry for just now confessing, thanks him for becoming her world, and at long last, says those three little words that he has been waiting patiently to hear.  I loved how overcome he was by her confession.  He's speechless and so un-Enrique as he processes all the many feels he's experiencing.

8.  I'll Wait

After the confession, Dok Mi tells him that he needs to go back to Spain but that she'll wait for him.

9.  The Mystery of the Suddenly Empty Room

I missed the transition here while watching.  I'm going to go out on a limb and just assume that they are on a trip together and staying at some house of some sort.  We go from the beach to a room we've never before seen.  Where they are is not really explained, at least not that I caught.  Anyway, so they're in this room, together and it's nighttime.  Dok Mi falls asleep on the couch.  Enrique covers her with a blanket.  (See how this whole episode is like reliving moments that have happened in the past?)  She then wakes and in turn covers him with a blanket.  Then, in the next shot, they're both gone.  The room is suddenly empty.  Without explanation.  Are we to assume what I think we are to assume?  Two people one moment are on the floor, next shot they're not anywhere to be found and then we fade to black.  Is this drama for "they be doin' it?"  Again, I'm going to be bold and go out on my bold branch here and say definitively, yes.  Yes they were.  They were off in another room getting to know each other a little better.  You can be sure there was some hanky panky going on.  What?  You have a better explanation of the mysteriously empty room?  I'd love to hear it.  No, actually I wouldn't.  I'd actually love to believe that I'm right and there was some lovin' going on between our love birds.  And you know you would too.

10.  Back to the Future

We now go back to the beginning where we started.  It's the year 2014.  Dok Mi leaves work and Jin Rak is there.  And we learn that the one year anniversary is for the security guard/building owner and apartment 404's madam.  There's an anniversary party with the whole gang, minus Enrique, back together again.  And looks like the 4th floor is getting a new resident.  Apt 404 will soon be vacant when Madam marries Security Guard/Owner and look who's moving in?  Our favorite boss of the webtoon, minus her trademark dark circles of course!  Her entrance is perfect, especially when she orders Jin Rak to move "right now!" and then snuggles up with Dong Hoon while they both wear matching couple tops.  So, we now know the fate of most of our cast.  The old people are getting married, Dong Hoon and his lady love are going strong and Watanabe is moving on and heading to Africa to learn African cuisine.  (It was Africa right?  I'm not remembering that wrong, am I?)  So, what about Jin Rak?  Well, as luck would have it, he's looking for a new partner in the webtoon biz.  The candidate he is interviewing is perfect for the job and he hires her.  She then asks if she can work at home.  Looks like we have a new Dok Mi.  She's pretty and just his type, and better yet, not attached to a gamer from Spain.  Like a match made in socially awkward heaven!  And how about Do Hwi?  She's still on the hunt.  Her interest is suddenly piqued in a hot bartender when she learns that he is rumored to be the son of a CEO trying to make it on his own merit in the world.  She sees dollar signs and starts shamelessly flirting.  Nice to see that she is in essence the person she always was, and lucky for her, this one is actually charmed by her BS.  See, there really is someone for everyone, isn't there?  We end with everyone merrily skipping down the street together.

11.  Reunion

Oh wait a minute!  Did I skip a part?  Silly me!  ^_^  Yes, yes, yes.  What about Enrique and Dok Mi?  How does their story end?  Well, we start with a letter in which Enrique tells her that he's going to be staying in Spain longer than anticipated.  I smell a ruse, don't you?  Sure enough, who should be looking back at her from across the way when she glances out her window, but a tall, dark and handsome man.  She's shocked.  She breaks out the binoculars, and, true to form, it's Enrique, letting her know in his Enrique way that he sees her looking at him.  Remember how we're replaying everything over again, right?  I thought it was cute and a perfect way to end the drama.  Instead of hiding in her room as she did in the beginning, however, this time she runs out to the street to meet him.
Dang!  He looks HOT!  Smokin' hot!!!  I LOVE the dark hair on him so much better than the red.  Yoon Si Yoon, YUMMO!  Don't ever dye it again, please.

There they are, face to face once again.  And then, cue the angels above, we get a kiss!  After the hard time I gave her earlier for her past kiss scenes, I most certainly applaud Park Shin Hye here.  She did it.  She got it right.  We get a real kiss out of her!  Now, granted, the cameras still move more than she does, but I'll take it.  Her eyes are closed, she looks happy (as one who is liplocked with Yoon Si Yoon should only look), and she's kissing him back, in earnest.  Hallelujah!  We did it!  See the power we netizens wield?  We wanted a decent kiss out of her for once and lo and behold, we got it!  Yay Park Shin Hye!  You've done it!  You've broken out of your too-innocent girl mold and become a grown up in the space of a few episodes.  I'm so proud!  What a perfect end to this drama.  I won't pick at it any more, I'll take it, happily and with gratitude.

12.  A Final Nod of Respect to Our Poor 2nd Male Lead

I wanted my last Drama Dozen moment to be special.  So, instead of ending with the final scene, I instead end this with a special tribute to our 2nd Male Lead who represents every 2nd male lead of note.  You know the ones I speak of.  The 2nd male leads that we love and adore, just as much as if not more than our leading guy.  The guy who inevitably gets his heart broken.  Our poor, tragic, 'how can someone so perfect not find love?' guy.  Jin Rak, aka Kim Ji Hoon, this last one is for you.  Let's take a moment to appreciate you.  You and your ruggedly handsome for a flower boy looks.  Your tender soul.  Your understanding and support and self-sacrificing ways.  You gave up your love for the one you love when you recognized that you weren't the one she needed.  You join your brothers in the 2nd Male Lead Hall of Fame.  You've earned it.  Your spot in history as well as your spot in our collective hearts.  Way to go man, way to go.  You, my friend, are indeed a class act.  Thank you for everything.

And with that, I am done.  Flower Boy Next Door has been reviewed in its entirety.  What is your final take on this drama?  For me, it was good.  Not my favorite, but I don't regret it.  It wobbled at points, but still was able to pull through in the end.  I really enjoyed the final episode and that's a big deal to me.  I appreciate when a drama can end on a strong note.  It wrapped itself up nicely, with a pretty kiss for a bow on top.  It was a fun little ride and I thank you for riding it along with me.

As far as what comes next, I have no idea.  I'm probably going to take a week or so to figure it out.  I enrolled myself in an online class and have been severely neglecting that, so I think I'm going to focus on that more for the time being.  Maybe.  We'll see.  I'm still undecided.  How would you feel about me reviewing an older show that maybe you haven't seen?  There's one I have in mind that isn't well known, but is acclaimed to be amazing that I have been meaning to start.  It's more of a melo though, so I don't know.  When I get my stuff all figured out, I'll let you know, but I'm always open to suggestions and requests.  We've done it in the past and could do it again.  Not that I'm promising I'll review anything you want, but I will most certainly take it under advisement ;)

Okay, enough with the stalling.  It's always so hard to say goodbye at the end of a drama.  We spend so much time together with them that it's difficult to sign off for that final time.  Thank you for watching this one with me and for your patience during those times I didn't get my reviews up as fast as I wanted to.  As always, we appreciate your support more than you'll ever know!  Many thanks to each of you!

Bye! <3

Flower Boy Next Door ep 15: Dramatic Friday Review

Well, dear addicKts, the time is here.  Time to bid farewell to another drama.  FBND, you sure were full of beautiful, wonderful eye candy.  You lived up to your name.  You promised us flower boys next door and you delivered flower boys next door.  Maybe next time you can deliver flower boys next door to me though.  I'd greatly appreciate that.  I mean, don't get me wrong, I like my neighbors and all, they're very nice people, but none of them even remotely resemble these lovely creatures.

Now, to give you the proper send off.  Here goes the first episode in this final week, episode 15.

1.  Frenemy, Bromance and the Love that Almost Was Confront and Bare it All

Dok Mi finally stands up to Do Hwi.  She tells her to back off from Jin Rak.  At the end of 14 we were led to believe that this was all part of some plot to get Enrique to leave.  Only, apparently we were misled.  I guess Jin Rak didn't agree to help Dok Mi after all.  No, instead he told her to stay with him.  Jin Rak, you sir are as the kids used to say, "da bomb".  Seriously dude, you are just amazing.  You definitely fall in the "Perfect 2nd Male Lead, Really Shoulda Gotten A Girl if Not THE Girl" category.  It also turns out that Enrique heard the whole conversation between JR and DM.  Enjin has another chat in the street about their shared love interest.  My take on it was that Enrique was apologizing to Jin Rak, explaining that he only sees DM and therefore couldn't keep his end of the promise to not fall in love.  Jin Rak knows he has lost and even cries a little.  Somebody run up to that poor man and lay a big, fat, sloppy kiss on him RIGHT NOW!  (Did you hear that in the webtoon boss's voice?  I sure hope so.  That's what I was going for.)

2.  Jealous Seas and Break Ups

So Jin Rak has had his heart sufficiently broken.  He's stepped aside and has even encouraged his lady love to go for the other guy.  But even after all this heroic self-sacrificing, there's still trouble in paradise.  First, there's the whole Spain issue.  Dok Mi can't go.  Enrique should go.  And at the center of it all, there's still the question of the other woman.  DM sees a text come from What'sHerFace to Enrique suggesting to him that perhaps what he feels for DM is sympathy, not love.  This starts the no confidence shame spiral that leads to a big fight and a break up.

3.  Enjin Repair

We finally learn the true significance of the mystery USB stick given to Enrique by Jin Rak.  Maybe if we could read Korean we would have already known this, but since I for one am not quite there yet, I'm only now finally putting the pieces together.  On it is proof that Jin Rak's Zombie Soccer idea that he originally tried to create a webtoon of prior to his modern-day Rapunzel Flower Boy Next Door webtoon (that isn't doing so hot) was actually something he had come up with on his own way back in high school and was not, in fact, a plagiarized Enrique thing as he was accused of.  Enrique goes in person to Webtoon Headquarters to meet with Dark Circles Boss and clear Jin Rak's name.  She's got major Star Fever when THE Enrique is in front of her, and Dong Hoon is adorably jealous.

4.  Knocking Some Sense into These Two

Enjin has a final showdown once things are all fixed up professionally.  This time it's personal.  Jin Rak confesses that he lacks confidence because he's been rejected since a young age and doesn't know how to love.  Enrique tells him that Dok Mi wants him to leave and so he's gonna.  This, rightfully so, infuriates Jin Rak.  He gave up the fight so that these two could be happy.  He is frustrated that Enrique can't see what is really going on here.  Dok Mi freaked out and pushed Enrique away because she was hurt.  When he originally left to follow What'sHerFace to Spain, it destroyed her.  He threw her away and left.  She's running scared now.  She is jealous and hurt and running away in order to avoid getting hurt again.  Enrique, Mr Tell It Like It Is, Hold Nothing Back is frustrated and wondering why she didn't just SAY that that's how she felt and that she didn't want him to leave.  This whole thing ends with a good old fashioned punch to the face.  Oh yeah!  Jin Rak decks Enrique once and for all and then miraculously feels a whole lot better.  *giggle*  "I think this is what I wanted to do all along.  Maybe I just wanted to beat the crap out of him".  Oh Jin Rak, I just adore you!  Men are awesome, really they are.  Guy stole your secret 3 year crush out from under you?  Punch him in the face for being an idiot and move on.  Gotta love it!

5.  Will the Real Building Owner Please Stand Up?

The mystery of the real apartment building owner is finally revealed.  Okay, so yes, not as big of a plot point as I think they intended for it to be, but I'll still include it on this list because it honestly took me by surprise.  I really thought it was the madam same as everyone else in the building, but no, it's Mr Security Guard who oh so cleverly directed the attention to her in the first place.  And well, I don't have much else to say about that.  He's the owner...surprise!  Now back to the pretty story.

6.  Investigator Geum

Jin Rak clobbering him in the face causes Enrique to ponder upon some things, namely the mystery of Dok Mi and her reasoning behind the strange things she does.  He turns investigator and shows up at her door to figure out how one would live as she does, cut off from the world.  Why does he do this?  In order to understand her better by walking for a bit in her shoes.  He takes notes on things like food storage and growing green onions and other herbs in order to minimize shopping.  He also confronts her about her real reason for dumping him.  He brings up the text she intercepted and accuses her of jealousy, to which she finally admits.  She was jealous and hurt and reminded of how he left her once before.  He handles this all just perfectly I feel I should add.  And it gets better.

7.  Taking a Stroll in Each Others' Shoes

He puts into practice what he's prepared for.  He goes into hiding himself, locking himself up in his room in order to comprehend the life that his girl has been living.  I love how he is like a caged animal though - going nuts and being all bored and Enrique-like.  To complete this already perfect picture, she also takes a walk in his shoes.  In a total role reversal, she shows up at his door, using all of his tricks and techniques to try to draw him out.  Pretending that she's sick, trying to "return" his panda hat (which is in Spain, a fact that he points out as he's mumbling to himself), and claiming that she needs a manuscript left behind in the apartment.  She finally gets him in this process.  She comes to realize how lonely and hard it is when the other person won't come out.  She has learned what a closed door feels like when it is blocking you from the one person you are desperate to see.

8.  Mind Reading and Making Up

She finally finds him when he goes out for work purposes.  We get some more role reversal as she reads his mind as he once read hers.  And then they make up.  Cutely of course.  They go out for snacks and drinks and the confessions start a'rollin.  She confesses to being jealous and worried that he still has What'sHerFace in his heart.  She tells him that she understands how hard it is to face a closed door.  He promises that he will no longer always be on her side.  He'll not tell her what she wants to hear and stand up for her no matter what she chooses.  He is instead going to support what is best for her, even if it means she has to do hard things and realize that her old friend isn't as evil as she wants to believe.  By running away as she has in the past, it's painted the people who have offended her in a one-dimensional way when there is more to the story.  Does that make sense?  He said it better than I could, but I think he's totally spot on.  He promises to always be there for her though and unchanging.

9.  Dong Hoon and his Attractive Dark Circles

This scene was cute, as are all the scenes with these two.  I'm sorry, but they totally stole the show.  I love them.  And I loved this scene with the bag.  She buys for him a couple's bag as a fake birthday present.  He's still bruised from his earlier jealousies over her fawning over Enrique and is pouting about it.  Once she gets it through to him what is really going on here though, he perks right up.  And we now have an official couple.  Yay!

10.  Fan Club Feeding Frenzy

Our Enrique fan club isn't quite finished yet.  Crazy McCrazypants is desperate for Enrique to go back to Spain for this animation project.  She sees Dok Mi as the one preventing this from happening.  All of her other attempts in the past have failed, so this time she goes for a more direct attack with the help of her fellow fan club cronies.  They put things out on the internet about Dok Mi - how she's two timing Enrique with Jin Rak and even things about her high school scandal.  Word starts to spread.  Jin Rak finds out, Do Hwi finds out, and eventually Enrique who then has to go and tell Dok Mi.

11.  Do You Trust Me?

In order to fix this little slander issue, Enrique asks Dok Mi to do something difficult and to go with him.  He asks her to trust him.  And off they go.  To confront the fan club personally.

12.  Is Leaving Really the Answer?

While defending Dok Mi to the fan club, Enrique drops a huge bomb on all of us when he states that he will return to Spain.  We end on my favorite note - the one that goes DUHN DUHN DUHN (our very last one for this drama *sad face*) - as we get the dramatic tear sliding down her face followed by the intense gaze of bomb-dropping Enrique.  Ooh!  Did you see that one coming?

And that's how we end episode 15.  What will happen next?  Will our love birds get their happily ever after?  Oh what will become of all of them?  What does the last episode hold for our flower boys and girls?  Well, silly, I'm certainly not going to spill the beans here.  You'll have to wait for that one of course.  Now, on to episode 16!

Flower Boy Next Door ep 14: Dramatic Friday Review

Dongsaeng's Dramatic Dozen
Flower Boy Next Door episode 14

1.  Love is in the Air

I have learned that when things in a drama start going well and the characters are actually pretty happy, it is sure to not last long.  This is that episode in this drama.  The leads are finally together and we start out with a sweet confession.  Enrique tells Dok Mi that he loves her and that she is now his dream, not doing his animation.  He wants to be with her whether in Korea or Spain.  He loves her.  Aw!  Sweet melty moment, especially when he takes her hand, holds it, and puts it in his coat pocket and they walk around like two lovers in love.

2.  Tables are Turned

I thought this part was cute when Dok Mi stopped him from nodding his head with a finger to the forehead as he has done to her in the past.  The look on his face was priceless.  That is one smitten kitten.  Gotta love it!

3.  Slumber Party!

The power in the building goes out.  Jin Rak loses all of his webtoon work.  The residents all gather outside.  Our 4th floor madame cougar becomes the center of attention as everyone looks to her as the assumed owner of the building.  She plays innocent so we still don't know if she is or isn't.  I'm sure she is, but honestly it doesn't really matter all that much to me.  It's not part of the plot I care about.  What I do care about are our flower boys and Dok Mi.  Enrique, who's apartment still has power, invites the crew over for a sleepover.  He is a gentleman and lovingly gives Dok Mi his room.  And of course acts like a goofy, overexcited child in the process, but that's Enrique for you.  It just wouldn't be the same if he wasn't all giddy that the girl he liked would be spending the night in his bed, even if he wasn't accompanying her.

4.  Cute Watanabe

Even though he hasn't been my favorite character (honestly he annoys the daylights out of me), the part where he starts talking in his sleep with this silly eye mask on was admittedly very cute and funny.  Mostly because he just looked so bizarre of course.

 5.  Enjin Chat

Jin Rak confronts Enrique about his plans.  Enrique is putting his career in jeopardy by staying with Dok Mi and not going back home to Spain.  Enrique is torn.  He wants to go back, but he wants to be with Dok Mi.  He wants her to go back with him, but doesn't want to ask that of her as she is just barely starting to come back out into the world and something like a move to Spain is asking too much of her.  Of course Dok Mi overhears this conversation and looks mighty worried about everything.  Jin Rak openly admits that he wouldn't give up his dream, not even for Dok Mi, and realizes that that could be a reason why Enrique won her heart - he is truly more devoted to her than he is.  Oh me, oh my...why does love have to be so complicated?  (P.S.  Had to laugh at Jin Rak's face in this first shot heehee)

6.  Taming the Shrew

Dong Hoon is charged with the task of breaking the bad news to their boss that the power went out and all of their unsaved work was lost, thus meaning that they won't be making their deadline.  She starts out in her trademark shriekiness and overreactiveness, but quickly calms down because, well, it's Dong Hoon and she has the hots for him.  He is mighty good-looking, isn't he?  And look how sweet too!  He feels bad and volunteers to help her rewrite the new webtoon plan.  She is once again lost in his lips.

7.  More Love is in the Air

These two get two spots on today's Drama Dozen just because I think that they are awesome and the life of this show (besides the hotness factor of our lovely flower boys of course).  I love how enamored she is by him and how downright shmexy he looks here while being all sweet and caring.  Wouldn't a kiss from these two just make life perfect?  Hey writers...got that?  We want a kiss!

8.  He'll Never Change

Back at Enrique's slumber party, Jin Rak and Dok Mi talk.  Jin Rak tells Dok Mi how Enrique had asked him to watch over Dok Mi when he went back to Spain.  Jin Rak admits then that he understood that Enrique was into her and might not leave.  What a man to assure the girl that he loves that the another guy loves her and won't stop loving her no matter what she decides to do.  Gorgeous and amazing.  Jin Rak...I really do adore you.  No matter what happens, I'll still adore you.

 9.  This One Has a Lot to Learn About Proper Fandom

Enrique's fans, fueled by Crazy Stalker Girl, go on the offensive.  Netizens at their worst.

10.  Here Come the Men in Black

How stinkin adorable were these three?  They hatch a plan to help Jin Rak out with his inheritance/family issues.  I'm pretty sure this is all in attempt to get some cash in order to pay off Dong Hoon's car accident debt.  Correct me if I'm wrong.  I was too busy looking at the pretty to really care what they were doing.

11.  Mafia Games

The three boys dress up and play Mafia with Jin Rak's brother, who frankly, seems to be a real tool and has a little humility coming to him.  Enrique acts the mobster, breaking out his Spanish cloaked as Italian.  The brother can't tell the difference (not the brightest tack on the board), and is sufficiently scared of Enrique and his act.  The paper relating to the inheritance is signed and the boys plan is revealed.  Cans are tied to the back of the brother's car with the intent that when he gets out to check out the cause of all the racket, Enrique and Jin Rak will jump in and drive off with the car.  Seriously, I don't know why.  But that's the plan.  I know because we see it played out.  Turns out though that that was just what was supposed to happen.  What really happens is that the brother starts to drive off and can't hear the commotion caused by the tied on cans over his music.  Dong Hoon jumps in, realizes that it's the brother driving and not Jin Rak and hops out.  Off the brother drives, plans smashed to smitherines.  I wish I could tell you what this meant for Jin Rak and his inheritance/money sitch, but no luck there.  Still though, funny scene and worthy of grabbing our next-to-last spot for today.

 12.  Breaking Hearts

And finally, we come to our 12th and final dramatic moment for episode 14.  Dok Mi confronts Do Hwi and more or less tells her to back off of Jin Rak as she is not good enough for him.  She comes out and says that she, Dok Mi, likes him.  She lists off some reasons as to why he's such a swell guy.  This is of course overheard by not only Jin Rak, but Enrique as well.  Can you see how crushed his poor little heart is?  I want to cry for him.  Little does he know though that this is all a ruse put together earlier by a conspiring Dok Mi and Jin Rak in an effort to set Enrique free to follow his dream and return to Spain.  She doesn't want to hold him back so she enlists Jin Rak's assistance.  He plays his part, grabs her by the arm and the two leave together.  And hearts weep for poor Enrique.

And there we go.  Episode 14 is done just in time for the airing of episode 15 which I believe is completely subbed on at least one site.  I haven't seen it yet, but I look forward to it.  It's hard to believe that we're already on the last week.  Two more episodes and we're done.  Where has the time gone?  I will definitely miss the pretty ones, but take comfort in knowing that at least I still have one other Yoon Shi Yoon drama going right now (I'm watching Baker King in my spare time).

Thank you for your patience with me as I got these reviews out late.  I appreciate you sticking around and look forward to spending the finale together this week.  Until we chat again, may all your days be filled with dramas and squeeees.  Thanks for stopping by!
