Twenty Again ep 6: Glad I Resisted the Urge to Chuck My iPad Across the Hotel Room

So I've been a bit MIA while hubs and I were off celebrating our wedding anniversary this past weekend. Of course, I could never leave the world of K entertainment behind me entirely (duh), so naturally I watched these episodes in some of my down time at the hotel. I have to tell you, my iPad narrowly escaped my wrath at the beginning of 6. And my husband may have been doubting his 18 years of marriage to the crazy lady screaming at her screen.

Yong Pal Episode 6 - A Girl, A Boy, and 10,000 Thugs

Here's a thug, there's a thug, everywhere stands a thug thug.  That is kind of how I felt while watching this episode, as our OTP (One True Pairing) must overcome the trial of the thug to escape the hospital alive.  Thankfully all the thugs and their owners are at cross purposes and there is a chance that Yong Pal can wiggle through to safety.  Or is there?

Oh My Ghostess eps 5 and 6: The Life of the Temporarily Unpossessed

Before starting, I'd like to take a moment and apologize for the little break in recaps on this drama recently. As I was working furiously on this post a couple of weeks ago, I received notice of problems with the first one. In all honesty, the experience shook me and discouraged me pretty badly and so I stepped away for a bit before being able to talk myself into trying again. In the three years that this blog has been up and running, it was our first run in with the dreaded DMCA notice and I didn't take it so well. I hope you can bear with me as I try now to play catch up. And let's hope for the best that all the hours dumped into this post don't end up like the other one - victim of the delete key. Thank you for your patience and understanding and especially for your constant support. You are the reason I chose to press forward and not give up in that low moment of frustration, so thank you. I Remember You ep 6: The Body and Bad Guy Count Continues to Grow

There is so much going on in this episode that I'm not even sure where to start. More dead bodies. More connections. More possible/probable bad guys. And one big problem - Seo In Guk is way too distracting as a leading man and makes it hard to focus on all of these deep plot intricacies.

Orange Marmalade Episode 6 - Bored Bored Bored.

So, what to say about episode 6?  Sadly, I must confess that I am starting to get a little bored with the past.  However, things still happened, so I will quickly recount the events and hope that things pick up in episode 7 for me.  So without further ado, here are my thoughts on ep 6.

Producer Episode 6 - Don't go Messing With My Ship

Hello all you "Producer" fans.  We have officially reached the half way point.  WOOT!  This episode was full of highs and lows for me.  Not because any of it was bad, but more because the writers kept creating holes on my OTP (one true pairing) ship.  Just a warning that this recap is going to be more of a mini-cap.  I went on vacation this last weekend, which is wonderful, until you realize that three episodes of recaps did not get done.  Which means I am crazy behind.  So in order to not get farther and farther behind, I am just going to do a quick note of some of my favorite moments.

Ex-Girlfriend Club ep 6: Caught!

Forgive me for a moment, but I just have to get this out....

I FREAKING LOVE THIS DRAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*gasp*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Ahem.  Sorry about that. I'll just gather myself here and try to be coherent and less gushy in order to get this thing recapped, but I make no promises that I won't slip back into fangirl mode at some point along the way. Because this drama rocks and there were so many points in this episode that I got gushy and squealy and all that fun stuff, you know, where clear thoughts turn into "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!"

Ouroboros Episode 6 - Gunshot Red is the New Black

I was concerned that things were starting to slow down after episode 5, but boy was I wrong.  If anything Ouroboros writers put the story on steroids and went full throttle with so many reveals and twists that I am left gasping. This episode took the drama to a whole new level of epic and has literally made Ouroboros my #1 favorite Jdrama to date.  So let's jump into the recap with both feet forward so we can quickly start episode 7 since I can't survive much longer without knowing what happens to Ikuo.

Hyde, Jekyll and I episode 6: Hey Jealousy

You know what is a lot of fun? Sitting down to write a blog post only to find that the computer that was working just fine a few minutes ago when your kid was using it for Minecraft now doesn't work at all. And I mean, not at all. One black screen and a cursor, that's all I got. So, while that is being worked on, I'm stuck using the lousy laptop. I mean, thankfully, for the sake of my post, I have the laptop available for use. It's all in our attitude, right?

Blade Man episode 5 & 6 - So Many Feelings

Hello all you kdrama (and specifically Blade Man) fans out there.  Kmuse here, a little bit late with my thoughts about episode 5 and 6.  I might have had a slight kdrama burnout (1st time in 4 years is not bad) due to some ambiguous OTP situations that are going on (Seriously, how many dramas are they planning on putting out where the lead is undecided. I am NOT a fan).  But luckily Blade Man is not one of those shows that shall remain nameless all of TvN's current programming and I actually managed to watch these episodes with some sense of enjoyment.  Who knew that a drama with a super hero identity crisis would perk me up so much?  But since I am so far behind on the recaps I am going to combine two to make sure I don't find myself finishing up recaps months after the show is actually over.  

In my personal opinion, what makes this drama work is Son Se Dong.  She is not only the noona who holds everyone together, but is also the moral compass of the drama. Every single character seems to revolve around Se Dong and she continues to make them grow by just being herself. Not only that, but she does it without huge speeches or pleas or extreme gestures.  It's the little things like letting a grieving mother feed her, allowing her boss to see how she treats everyone kindly, and holding a young boys hand when he is scared.  Small things, but to these damaged people it is life changing.  Anyone who eats that much food just to make a senile grandma happy should be nominated for sainthood.  I am pretty sure being able to ingest that much food is a miracle in of itself.

My favorite scene from this week was when Se Dong and Hong Bin go shopping in the market.  Hong Bin's wallet is stolen and Se Dong takes off after the thief.  Hours later Hong Bin is ready to hire extra security to search for her, when in bursts Se Dong, towing the thief  behind her.  Not only did she capture him, but the use of her new bra as a pair of handcuffs was hilarious.  When confronted by Hong Bin as to why she wasted all that for a few dollars, Se Dong informed him that she chased after the thief because the photo of Chang's mother was inside that wallet.  Something that is irreplaceable.  It is simple things like this that makes Se Dong irreplaceable in the drama.

We also get the official beginning the romance between our two leads.  I love how magical the director is making it feel and look.  The scene is full of cuteness, pounding hearts, and fireflies?  Fireflies suddenly filling the night sky which allows us to witness the OTP (One True Pairing) have their first hug.  I love how both looked completely shocked and unsettled.  It was the perfect romantic moment for this odd drama, because why should that be mainstream when every other scene is unique and quirky.

Who else was surprised at the new "big bad" that suddenly emerged.  I have to admit that I was flummoxed when Hong Bin's housekeeper turned into a mega villain almost equal to that of the abusive father.  Shedding her servant disguise she attends a threat filled visit to our least favorite father.  Threatening him, she demands that he give the mega mansion (the one that Hong Bin owns) over to her son.  The son she had with evil father......ewwww.  Those two procreated and produced a son, who I am suspecting, might end up being evil as well.  But first they join forces to do, heaven only knows what, to poor little innocent Chang.  Evil housekeeper kidnaps him and hands him over to evil father.  Wow this takes the drama to a whole new level of evil, but I guess a person who is not against beating up a pregnant women, won't stop at getting rid of an unwanted grandson.  Kudos to the writers for blindsiding me with all the crazy plotting going on.

Hong Bin finally learns the truth about what happens when he blacks out. Upon learning that his father had thugs beat Chang's mother, forcing her to flee to America, he goes a tiny bit postal.  And since Secretary Studly is not there to make him pass out, he is very aware when he starts sprouting swords.  Now at this point a saner person would start wondering if someone had slipped him something extra in his drink.  Had he accidentally eaten the wrong mushrooms at dinner?  Am I going insane and need to stop at the hospital?  But not Hong Bin, he easily accepts that he forces swords from his body when he is angry.  Hong Bin not only accepts it, but kind of goes on a power spree bounding across the city like Spider Man.  Because that is the first thing I think of, climbing up the side of a building with the swords on my forearms.  Hahaha.  I am not sure whether I should be wincing at the total cheese of this , or be hoping that we get some more super hero moments.  I think I will opt to take whatever the director/writers give us since so far they have not failed to keep me highly entertained.

My Secret Hotel episode 6exy Back

Before even getting started into the actual recap here, I just wanted to point out something probably pretty obvious. There are things that you find in cable dramas that you just won't see in other network dramas. Things like scenes revolving around male genitalia and their performance or lack thereof. Scenes like a provocatively-dressed coworker trying to "get a rise" out of our male lead. Or even things like our female lead kissing another man. I can't think of any drama where the female lead kisses more than one man. Maybe you can. If so, please do share, because I'm drawing a blank. I'll go ahead an be bold and admit that these are some of the reasons that I prefer cable dramas, which is odd seeing as how the thing that drew me into dramas in the first place was just how innocent and clean they were when compared to American TV. Don't get me wrong, even with all this "risque" business going on here, it's still so very mild compared to the trash coming out of the West these days. Ooh hoo - Dongsaeng is on her soapbox here, people! Watch out! I'd garner a guess that I'm not the only one to have felt this way before though. There's a reason why we gravitate towards these shows, and I'd venture to wager that part of it is the lack of stupid trash. Just a wild guess though.

Stepping off my soapbox now and hopping into the actual recap. This episode was filled with so many feels! Emotions were running high and intense. And yes, we get a kiss scene, even though it is not, GASP, between our leading lovers. But more on that in a minute.

We start off the episode where we left off in 5, with the Director asking SH out. He talks about how it only takes three minutes to know if you love someone, and he gives her three to answer him. She stands there shocked and without reply, until at the very moment her time is up, a speeding car races by (HY at the wheel of course), throwing her into the Director's arms. Despite having his lady love in his arms, he takes her non-answer as an answer, gives her 3 days to decide, and leaves, admitting to being embarrassed by the whole exchange. She walks slowly back up to her home, and starts an inner dialogue about how the Director is wrong - it doesn't take 3 minutes but just three seconds to fall in love. Cut to a flashback of how our leading lovers met those fateful 7 years ago. She, a waitress, accidentally bumps into him with her tray, spilling all over him. Instead of getting angry, they have one of those scenes usually reserved for Disney-esque stories - boy sees girl, girl sees boy and they instantly fall in love. It is very romantic if not a bit (ie lot) far-fetched. Both are really cute though as they stammer and get all intensely awkward with each other. I loved the artistry of the two of them, back in modern day, both sitting there, unaware of the other, yet both thinking of each other. Ugh!!! If only these two would TALK!!!!! Talk and LISTEN to each other and stop misunderstanding each other! They are driving me mad! That really is their issue - a severe breakdown in communication. You know, until they can figure that out, they don't deserve to be with each other. At this point, even if they were to get back together, they still wouldn't make it because they haven't fixed the fundamental problem.

Okay, okay, okay....the scene about HY's man bits not functioning properly was hysterical. Hysterical! Fiance can't figure out why HY isn't all over her, even as she throws herself at him. Instead of doing the math and seeing that it's just because he isn't in to her, she starts to think that it is a malfunction in his hardware. This spurs a whole series of texts intercepted by his staff at the office and a giggly ahjumma watching all of this unfold (that's me). Ms Buttinski cracks me up when she declares that she is giving him up, what with being damaged goods and all, but first gives it one last ditch effort to "get a rise" out of him before abandoning him completely. 

Oh yeah, they went there.

 The goofy friend-guy also cracks me up with his reaction as he yells at HY for being impervious to her "charms". 

This drama is pushing all kinds of drama limits rarely before pushed.

HY is walking around in a major funk. Who can blame him? He's in love with his ex who he thinks hates him and he's just days away from marrying someone else. I'd be all funked out too. Of course I would also take the opportunity at that juncture to HAVE A CONVERSATION, but that's just me. The funk continues as he sits down to go over wedding deets with his ex wedding planner ex. She's showing him different concepts trying to get him to make a decision, but he's completely checked out. When he does volunteer an opinion, it is to describe the wedding that he wants with details from his first wedding. Yup, that's going to be productive. Getting frustrated, SH gets up to get him some coffee, and in doing so, unintentionally recreates the moment they met when she turns, bumps into him, and spills coffee all over him, Well, this is just too much for him to handle. The feels are through the roof and have maxed out and so he just lets it out, repeating what he said those 7 years ago and begging her, with tears in his eyes, to come outside and talk to him. He has something to tell her and will be waiting in the parking lot for her. Serious, serious, intense emotions thickly pervade the space between them both.

Feeling overwhelmed, SH shows up at the Director's door. There she confesses to him about her past and present. At first we think he's going to be upset, but instead he surprises us all by declaring that they will be dating and then he kisses her. 

A wonderful, amazing, spectacular kiss. Granted, a wonderful, amazing, spectacular kiss from the wrong man, but beggars can't be choosers at this stage in the game. I noted an interesting difference here between our heroine and her two men. With HY, it's always a miscommunication or misunderstanding. No matter what is said, someone takes it the wrong way. This is their problem. She doesn't have this problem when it comes to the Director. Take this scene as the perfect example. Instead of getting all butthurt that she hid the fact that her client is her ex-husband, he remembers back to the moments where she shared with him the difficulties she was having. He recognizes that this must have been incredibly challenging and painful for her, and instead of getting bent out of shape, he embraces her. Not to play Devil's Advocate here, but there's something to be said about that. The Director and SH do not have a breakdown in communication happening. In the real world, that's what helps a relationship go the distance, more so than falling in love with someone at first sight. Just sayin....

Let's focus on the fiance for moment. It would appear that she is indeed dating/in love with her driver. That witchy hotel employee (I'm going to call her Witchy Pixy for now) finds photographic evidence of fiance with another man in Hong Kong and blackmails her (this is why she wasn't there picking out the wedding details) for a big wad of cash.

Now, don't hate me, but I'm going to say something a little negative. I didn't appreciate how they switched up Soo Ah's character so dramatically in the end in regards to her lover on the side. All along, she has been OBSESSED with HY and suddenly we're expected to believe that she really wants to be with her driver? Huh? Total switcharoo in personality that I can't bring myself to stay quiet on the matter and just roll with it.

And, so long as I'm being picky, WTH is up with this reason that is given for why HY and she are getting married in the first place?! I just assumed it was a business-related dealio. THAT I could understand. It's typical drama fodder after all. But no. No, the reason given is that HY's father refuses to have heart surgery until his son gets married. Huh? That's the freaking lamest stuff I have ever heard. Who does that?! That's just twisted. Dear writers, I'm sorry, but you seriously let me down with that one. Please, no more of that claptrap. Really. That is stupid. You're better than that.  Oh, but the good news is that Daddy Dearest apparently no longer needs heart surgery so I guess that that means HY is off the hook so we shouldn't feel bad for Papa later on when he and SH get back together. Phew.  That's a relief.  -_-

Okay, so HY has been rejected. He told SH that he had something to say to her, he waited in the parking garage as promised, and then he sees her walk out with the Director. She has clearly forgotten about him in that moment, as witnessed by her expression when she sees him sitting there in his car. 

oops.

The boy is no dummy. He quickly does the math and realizes that she has in essence dumped him. You know, him, the guy that is about to marry someone else. How dare she? He goes out drinking and ends up in front of her house, where he stays all night. 

Him, outside her place the next morning.

Nothing creepy there. Nope. Totally normal behavior. Especially for a man one day away from marrying someone else. Dude, seriously. It is past time for a major conversation. Maybe you should be a bit more proactive than just sitting in your car and stalking her outside her home waiting for her to suddenly realize all that you are feeling. The day before you get married. To someone else. Need I point out any more that we have now arrived at your wedding day??  DO SOMETHING!!! AND DO IT NOW!!!

I don't even want to talk about the next horrible scene. The wedding bells are ringing and there is our hero of the story, standing there in his white suit with his ex by the side of the aisle. 

He walks down the aisle. He dramatically looks up as he reaches the end, wishing for a dead body to once again fall from the ceiling. I'm sorry, but if another corpse landing at your feet sounds better than marrying the vapid wench you are about to tie the knot with, maybe, just maybe, you should reconsider this whole marriage deal. But no. He stays the course there at the altar as his bride walks his way. She reaches him and the ceremony begins. Sure, there's the very long, very dramatic pause as he is asked if he does. We are all on pins and needles wondering will he or won't he. 

Eventually he squeaks out an "I do", she gleefully responds with her own "I do" and before we know it, "man and wife" has officially been pronounced. I gasp. Jaw is on the ground and I am in shock, about to abandon ship because I'm not putting up with an adultery-themed drama if this is the direction we are headed. How can they actually be married??? WTH???? This isn't how things are supposed to go!!!

Duh. I was too lost in my feelings of betrayal and shock to realize from the beginning that, of course, this is a dream. Phew. Just as all hope is lost, Romeo is woken up from his drunken stupor. It's still the morning of the wedding. There's still time. There's still hope. There's still a chance for our two lovers. The groom is less-than-anxious to get around to preparing. His friend is literally having to beg him to at least shower, shave and dress. HY doesn't seem very interested in putting all that much effort into the affair. Can you blame him? JUST CALL THE WHOLE THING OFF!!! What are you doing to me yourself?!?!  AGH!!! This drama!!!  How did I get suckered into this craziness???  GAH!  Madness I tells ya, sheer madness!  We end the episode with the dramatic crossing of paths in the hall between our Romeo and Juliette. He pauses to recognize her hardships she endured and says his goodbyes. And then walks off. Assumedly to continue with this stupid, ridiculous facade of a wedding. 

We are left with that. Horrid, horrid, horrid teasing and angst-ridden as it all is, leaving us to wonder why in the world we put ourselves through this. Or is that just me? Oh! The drama of it all!

And there we have it - the end of episode 6. I'm curious to see how the wedding falls apart the second time around. And if there will be an attempt #3. Oh dear me, please say it won't be so. Surely this whole Soo Ah thing needs to just go buh-bye. Give her her driver and let her live happily ever after. Let our leads talk and work things out. Let our Director and SH have a decent, but short-lived, relationship that peacefully and naturally ends as both parties realize that they aren't meant for each other. Oh Dongsaeng, you so funny in all your delusions. It's only episode 6. There's still plenty of this ride still to come. Buckle up and hang on!





P.S. So, being distracted by the romance side of things in this episode, I sort of kind of failed to mention anything about the murder-mystery side of it.  Let me take care of that now. Crying lady? Not guilty. She has cancer. Her whole story is depressing. She mentions a lost love. I have a suspicion who it is.
My suspicion? This guy.

Why do I suspect him of being the long-lost lover of the crying, dying lady? I just do. Let's just say it's because this ain't my first Kdrama rodeo. Any good addicKt knows that there is always a reason and a connection between every story told and every character and every placement of people at certain times. Add in the fact that he is seen by our heroine as a trusted father-figure, and the guy has "suspicious" written all over his face. Not that it's formulaic at all.  Nah.  ;)  Anyway, speaking of this^ guy and suspicions, he's acting mighty suspicious as relating to the murder. He and the head security guy.

Big Boss Man is talking to Head Security Guy about the murder victim and how he keeps on being a problem even now that he is dead. Then he tells Head Security Guy that he has a task for him. Duhn, duhn, duhn. Something fishy is going on.

As far as other suspects, we've ruled out the gangster with the hole in his hand as well as the pervy office molester. Not stand-up fellas by any means, but also not murderers. Aww, man! 

And...that should get us pretty caught up on the mystery in our rom-com-mystery story. Anything missed will just have to remain missed for now, or, better yet, discussed in our comments section below and/or on our Facebook page *shameless plug*  Now I'm done. For reals this time. Really.

The Joseon Gunman Episode 5 & 6 -Dressed for Revenge

I am still playing catch up due to my falling behind during my family vacation.  And since I don't want to continue to be weeks behind in my recaps, I am doing a week where I combine the two episodes and just do a very light and breezy review.  Sorry that it is not as in depth as usual, I hope you will bear with me.  I decided that instead of doing a boring play by play, instead I will share my top 5 favorite moments/aspects of the episodes and be all ready and refreshed for this weeks recaps, written in my usual style. 

#5 John Wayne Style Shootout.

 My parents raised me on American westerns growing up so I am well versed in shootouts and showdowns.  So color me surprised to see a western style gunfight between Yoon Kang and one of the secret gunman.  It is reminiscent of my favorite John Wayne moment (see clip below) and I love that they are doing the whole riding straight at each other, shooting willy nilly.  This drama continues to deliver amazing action sequences over and over that are unique and visually stimulating.

#4 Playing Mind Games

I love that Yoon Kang is not cautious with Choi Won Shin (known to us as the #1 assassin gunman).  In his effort to find out who framed and killed his father, Yoon Kang jumps head first into the vipers nest searching for suspects.  Pulling the lose threads of the frame job, Yoon Kang hopes to find clues on who the main leader is.  While searching for his father's murderer behind the scenes, Yoon Kang maintains his facade of Hasegawa Hanjo (right hand man of a Japanese business company) in front of the world.  Little does he know that the enemy is the same for both of his personas.  I can't wait for information to start coming forth and seeing his revenge get kicked into double time.

#3 Stealing 2nd Lead's Heart

I have been pretty vocal over my enjoyment of the 2nd female lead, Choi Hye Won, who has really been holding her own as the merchant gunman's daughter.  She is tough, knows how to control men through strength and not by using just her looks, and is equal to any man.  But even the strongest female is not immune to the beauty of Yoon Kang.  Hye Won is being kidnapped by a rival company when Yoon Kang beats the crap out of them all single handed.  I can completely understand how her head could be turned with such a manly display of awesomeness. 

#2 Revenge Over Love

I am not a 100% convinced that Yoon Kang needed to keep Soo In in the dark about his return and revenge plans.  Would her reaction have been any worse for his plans, than her constant attempts to prove who he really is?  For whatever the reason, Yoon Kang decides to push his love away into a small corner of his heart and chooses to focus solely on revenge.  But Soo In is not to be ignored and is constantly following Yoon Kang which provides a lot of enjoyable scenes between our OTP.  And when it comes down to it, Lee Joon Gi's strengths are his angsty gazes and smirks.  Which we saw in full force throught these two episodes.

#1 So Many Wardrobe Changes

It is rare that we see more than one or two different outfits in a Sageuk, however we are given a feast of styles for Yoon Kang's character.  I am sure we could post hundreds of positive descriptive words for his various looks, but a picture is worth a thousand words, so enjoy this montage dedicated to Yoon Kang!

I am jumping with excitement for the next episode!  How is Yoon Kang going to escape from getting caught not only by Soo In, but also our big bad merchant?  Is he going to kick up his revenge plan a notch?  Are there going to be more outfit changes?   We should find out the answer to all these questions on Wednesday, and I hopefully will be back on my regular kdrama schedule so look forward to my recaps returning to my regular formant.

King of High School Episode 6 - Oh what a tangled web we weave, When first we practice to deceive.

This episode has me alternating between smiling and saying awwww (you can ask my kbestie Angela, she is proof that I did literally go awwww and LOL all through the episode.)  Min Seok's realities/roles are starting to get blurry, as he delves deeper into his disguise as his brother.  Especially when he has the added distraction of his emerging feelings for Soo Young to contend with.  It is not easy being an 18 year old, pretending to be a 28 year old, and falling in love with your 27 year old secretary.  Things can get a bit complicated emotionally.

Min Seok attempts to hire Soo Young as his secretary, unfortunately, he instigated his idea a bit too fast, making the decision without asking anyone including Soo Young herself.  She ends up storming off saying "thanks, but no thanks".  Of course Min Seok's handler starts yelling at him for always trying to do "things" and not sit quietly in his office.  "Do you think you are really a director?" he shouts, to which Min Seok begins undressing (hmmmm undressing is always appreciated).  Min Seok yells back "I quit then" and begins to storm out, but is stopped by his handler giving him a back hug and saying that he is sorry and was wrong.  HAHAHA  so funny and yet so uncomfortable at the same time. 

Looks like Min Seok is not the only person leading a lie. Soo Young has not yet told her mother that she has been fired and mama arrives at the company unannounced.  Soo Young tries to get her mom and aunt in and out of the building as quickly as possible, but she is caught by Min Seok who comes to her aid and supports her lies of employment.  Mother is ushered out without further incident and Min Seok takes the opportunity to apologize for his hasty behavior earlier.  He lets her know that it was not only out of pity for her situation, but because he really does need a secretary since he is not that smart. 

AWWWW, he is so open about himself when he is around her. It makes me all giddy and stuff.  I am also amused at The Twitty Duo, who show up behind him, listening in on his conversation.  They each give him amused looks behind his back (Does anyone else want to see their expressions when they figure out he loves Soo Young, who is not their idea of an ideal older women?  I am guessing it is going to be pretty funny).   Min Seok quickly finishes up, asking her to please consider coming back as his secretary, before dragging his twitty BFF's away.  The next morning he gets a wake up call from Soo Young (Awww!!! Min Seok with early morning drool face is just so adorable) as she officially starts her secretarial duties.

I know that a lot of people have been waiting for the makeover of Soo Young, and we get one, kind of...maybe....sorta.  We at least get a more schoolmarm looking Soo Young minus glasses.  Min Seok walks around the office beaming since his popcorn noona is back, and laughs at her overeager determination to be the perfect secretary.  I do like that Min Seok tells Soo Young to put her glasses back on and be her normal self.  He is obviously a sincere man, who can see beyond the outer shell, even before officially falling in love. 

Being Min Seok's secretary is not all smiles and popcorn, especially when your coworkers don't respect your position.  One of the other girls from the office feels offended that she has to take a message for Soo Young and haphazardly puts the post-it note on the edge of the desk where it falls to the floor, unread.  Upon realizing the mix up, Soo Young rushes after Min Seok, grabbing a scooter from a random delivery man, and chases her boss down.  Truly an awesome scene and I love Min Seok's expressions when he realizes what Soo Young had done.  Definitely going above and beyond the requirements of a normal secretary.

I just can't like Jin Woo, I am sure there is going to be some big explanation to understand why he acts like a vampire with a stick up his booty, but his treatment of Soo Young just makes me cranky.  His fake demeanor (I am just going to assume that it is 80% fake) is cruel to the poor girl who tries her best to stay out of his way after the confession debacle.  Now some people might argue that he is actually interested in her, but I am just not buying it.  Maybe I am wrong and he is attracted to Soo Young, but the fact that this change occurs after he had told her to stay away from him and his getting her fired does not make much sense.  I would have to have seen some further interaction between the firing and the interest and as it is, everything coming from Jin Woo's mouth just feels false.   The only other option is that the actor is unable to portray the nuances for me to actually believe he is sincere, which also could be true, but again the timing of the interest is just so suspicious for that scenario.  

Soo Young does not seem to question Jin Woo's sincerity and is on cloud 9 after their dinner date. It's OK since Min Seok is questioning it enough for a dozen Soo Young's.  The boy is not a happy camper when he discovers the budding romance and begins to obsess over whether he should warn Soo Young about Jin Woo's suspicious behavior.  On one hand, it would hurt Soo Young's feelings if she knew the truth about who instigated her firing.  But on the other hand, Jin Woo is an insincere jerk who is taking advantage and she should know sooner rather than later.   Decisions. Decisions.  

Min Seok is not one to keep things bottled up for long, and his anger eventually spills forth resulting in our OTP (one true pairing) having their first serious fight.  It ruins Min Seok's day and his anger follows him into his hockey practice where he takes his anger out on his teammates poor stalker girl, who is just being her usual stalker self (actually felt a little bad for her).  After losing a fight with some empty boxes on the side of the road, a light bulb blinks on in Min Seok's brain.  

He hunts Soo Young down and tells her that he needs to check something and to stay still for ten seconds.  Min Seok then pulls Soo Young (by her scarf which was kind of dominate and sexy) and gives her a hug to end all hugs.  I am just saying, if a sexy hot guy (especially Seo In Guk) gives you that kind of hug, then all other thoughts should be gone out of your head and you hug him back.

I truly loved that last scene.  It gave you one of the, gasp then squee, moments which are like crack to the romantic kdrama viewer.  It also continued TvN's tradition of having amazing OST music playing during all the best moments of a drama.  TvN is revolutionizing single handily the use of unique and perfectly matched mood music in their shows which I highly approve.   I even spazzed out again after watching the next preview, and all I can say is "bring on the romantic triangles and confessions".  If nothing else this is going to be one heck of a romantic ride.
