Yong Pal Episode 15 - Signs Your Wife Might Be Psychopathic Crocodile

The crocodile analogy continues as Yeo Jin chomps away at any competition to her power and position.  But what happens when you are a rich, emotional, and a paranoid crocodile?  If you guessed that you become swayed by outside forces (namely Tae Hyeon and Evil Secretary) then you would be correct.  So lets chat revenge and how Tae Hyeon should run, not walk, away from his doomed marriage

Yong Pal Episode 14 - Demons & Angels

Episode 14 was a hard one to start because I had heard rumors of where the writers were taking the story and, personally, I was not a huge fan.  However after viewing it for myself, I have come to certain conclusions about the characters and my feelings towards them, their romances, and their outlooks on life.  Pretty much we have a collision of Angels vs Devils and I am not sure if the two can co-exist in each others spheres.

Yong Pal Episode 13 - I'm a Crocodile......Hear Me Roar.

With only 5 episodes left (yes they finally decided that the drama will be 18 episodes total) the writers finally decided to let Yeo Jin stand up and became the driving force of her own fate.  And while in theory this is a good thing, in execution, this Ahjumma is left wondering "What the fudge is she doing?"  Let's just say that the final scene left me feeling slightly appalled and hoping that what I think happened, didn't really happen.  But before we get to that, let's chat about how Yeo Jin the crocodile came to be.

Yong Pal Episode 12 - Sometimes a Haircut is Just a Haircut........Except When its Not.

The "I'm not dead" secret is out of the bag and it leaves this Ahjumma questioning on whether I am liking where the story line is going.  Sure the story as a whole is still working, but it is the little plot holes that leave me confused as to where my feelings lie.  If nothing else we have a sassy new hairstyle to chat about. So let's discuss episode 12 and maybe I will be able to work out some of my frustration through prose. 

Yong Pal Episode 11 - Yeo Jin Gets Proactive (and I am not talking about the pimple cream)

Finally Yeo Jin is becoming the kind of heroine I always hoped she would be.  Not a pretty lamb but the crocodile that she once claimed she was. Yeo Jin puts her plans into motion to not only save Tae Hyuen but also to take down her psychotic brother.  I think it is safe to say that this episode was Yeo Jin's time to shine.

Yong Pal Episode 10 - Time for A Top 5 Countdown: Yong Pal Edition.

Time has run away from me again this week.  Seriously, I don't know where it all goes.  So in order to pop this recap out before the new episode, it is going to be a bit of a mini-cap.  With that in mind I decided to go back to an old format of mine and type up my top 5 favorite moments/concepts of the episode.  It could really be anything from Kim Tae Hee's gorgeous hair, to Joo Won's dimples. That said, I am hoping I can go a little bit more in depth than just the superficial visuals, but it is good to know that there are fall backs in case the writers decide to skim by with a weak plot.

Yong Pal Episode 9 - Tilting at Windmills

It is sad when an episode takes you 2.5 days to get through.  Some of the blame can be on my kids  since they have run me ragged in back to school errands, but most of the blame can be directed towards the episode itself.  That is not to say that it was horrible, just a little bit vanilla and not very Yong Palish.  But all is not lost since at least we got to see some awesome windmills windmilling.......oh and a kiss ........... but mostly, I am impressed with the scenic windmills. 

Yong Pal Episode 8 - Yong Pal Gets A Case of the Mopes.

Episode 8 was all about tying up loose ends in regards to the first 1/3 of the drama.  Our OTP finally makes it out of the hospital of death.  Our hero saves his sister (at least in theory) and the new alliance of Greedy Ahjussi and Do Joon is in full bloom.  But now what?  That is the question that causes Yeo Jin to turn into the mega moper and about made me want to write her off.

Yong Pal Episode 7 - Comas are the New Black

It's time to face the aftermath of THUGageddon and heal everyone's wounds, both financially and physically.  New unions are made and old are solidified as we all take a breath and rest (Tae Hyun literally.....but more on that later). 

Yong Pal Episode 6 - A Girl, A Boy, and 10,000 Thugs

Here's a thug, there's a thug, everywhere stands a thug thug.  That is kind of how I felt while watching this episode, as our OTP (One True Pairing) must overcome the trial of the thug to escape the hospital alive.  Thankfully all the thugs and their owners are at cross purposes and there is a chance that Yong Pal can wiggle through to safety.  Or is there?

Yong Pal Episode 5 - A Full Serving of Money With A Side of Crazy

Our OTP (one true pairing) finally connect on a verbal level!  Never have I been so happy to see someone wake up.  Now they just have to use each other to not only save the ones they love, but in the case of our sleeping beauty, to survive.  Because the clock is counting down for both our leads and the only way they can win is to work together.

Yong Pal Episode 4 - Yong Pal Superhero

We started off with Yong Pal black market doctor, than transitioned to suck up money obsessed Yong Pal. Finally in ep 3 we saw the heart beneath the dollar signs Yong Pal and now finally we have transitioned to ep 4 where they introduce us to Super Hero Yong Pal.  I am worried that if this boy doesn't get some romantic action soon, he will end up the President of Korea before the end of the drama.  It is amazing how much character movement we can get when you don't have to worry about other characters, or romance, or pretty much anything other than making Joo Won look good.

Yong Pal Episode 3 - It's Tough Being a Successful Money Grubbing Sycophant

Tae Hyun is forced to bury his morals deeper and deeper as he enters the doors of diagnosing the elite.  But at least his talent at butt-kissery gets him in the doorway to meet his fated love. Even if he does have to sell his soul to get there.

Yong Pal Episode 2 - The Story of A Morally Ambiguous Genius Doctor Khottie.

It is amazing how morally ambiguous hospitals are in kdramas.  And we get a HUGE dose of this version of reality as Tae Hyun is forced to swim the political murky depths, attempting to stay afloat in a hospital that only acknowledges money. Luckily his own moral compass is pretty loose as he continues to focus on earning money any way he can.

Yong Pal Episode 1 - Gold Digger on the Outside, Perfect Boyfriend Material on the Inside

If you are looking for a drama that is full of medical jargon and boring hospital politics, then this is NOT the drama for you.  Instead "Yong Pal" episode 1 is filled to the brim with action, intrigue, and hot Joo Won moments.  All of my favorite things when it comes to recapping.  So come join me as we chat about this awesome bad ass drama that surprised me by actually being fast paced and entertaining.

Hey all, Kmuse here on the eve of my departure for KCON!  OK, really to visit my husband's family, but KCON is totally on the schedule as well.  Family lives in southern California, KCON is in southern California, why not combine the two.  At least that is how I phrased it to my husband and in a small fit of insanity he agreed!  So my mom, my two awesome daughters, and I are KCON bound, with a slight family detour.
